Item #: SCP-CN-1471

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: All SCP-CN-1471 instances are to be placed in a secure storage locker at Site-CN-94; newly produced SCP-CN-1471 instances are likewise to be moved there upon discovery. Personnel opening the locker to consume SCP-CN-1471 instances will be met with disciplinary action, including but not limited to formal warning, access restrictions, imposition of fines, and permanent reassignment from Site-CN-94.

Update: As the designated locker in Site-CN-94 has been fully filled, all new SCP-CN-1471 instances are to be contained in an underground storage warehouse. If the object's proliferation is deemed excessive, collection and incineration will be permitted.

Description: SCP-CN-1471 is the collective designation for a large quantity of [DATA EXPUNGED]-brand biscuits that anomalously manifested within Site-CN-94. They possess physical qualities identical to those of ordinary biscuits, and can be eaten as normal. However, each biscuit possesses anomalous properties, causing each biscuit to be considered an individual miniature universe. The object possesses the following properties:

  • SCP-CN-1471 manifested without warning within Site-CN-94; each instance rapidly expanded from a single point until reaching the size of a typical biscuit. During the process, hydrogen and helium nuclei and trace amounts of gamma radiation were detected near the instances.
  • Some SCP-CN-1471 instances shrunk and lost physical form after some time, while others continuously expanded until reaching a certain size, at which point they suddenly lost all anomalous properties, becoming an unusually large biscuit.
  • SCP-CN-1471 instances are unable to exchange heat with the outside world; their heat capacity appears to be infinite. When instances spontaneously change in size, their internal heat energy and the mass of the instance are converted in accordance with the formula E = mc2.
  • Testing indicates that the basic physical constants within each instance are different from those of the current universe. This property does not affect the current universe.
  • Large-scale reality restructuring events do not affect SCP-CN-1471 instances. Likewise, reality restructuring events within an SCP-CN-1471 instance do not affect the outside world. The Security Department is currently considering the use of the object as a medium for information recording that is resistant to reality restructuring events.
  • In a minority of cases, electromagnetic waves, gravitational waves, quantum entangled particles, and even [DATA EXPUNGED] exhibiting some pattern have been detected originating from the interior of some instances. However, due to technological limitations, analysis of these wave patterns is impossible. This phenomenon commonly occurs in SCP-CN-1471 instances that have been kept in storage for over a year.
  • Foundation devices recognize each SCP-CN-1471 instance as a single parallel or independent universe. For further information, see <5/CN-1471 CLEARANCE REQUIRED - INACTIVE>
  • When an SCP-CN-1471 instance is broken by external forces, the resulting fragments may or may not retain their anomalous properties; those that do will recover their physical completeness. The majority of fragments lose their anomalous properties when reduced to a size below 1 mm.

As of June 2018, all SCP-CN-1471 instances have lost their anomalous properties, and no new instances have manifested. As a result, the anomaly has been reclassified Neutralized and archived, and the SCP designation shall be reassigned to a different anomaly.

Item #:SCP-CN-1471

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-CN-1471-1 has been placed in a secure storage locker at Site-CN-94. Following investigation by the Ethics Committee, Dr. John Aristides Silva and other affected personnel (designated instances of SCP-CN-1471-2) do not require formal containment procedures, but may not be reassigned from Site-CN-94 and are to be tracked whenever leaving the Site. SCP-CN-1471-2 instances are required to regularly undergo physical checkups and comply with Foundation experimentation on the SCP-CN-1471 anomaly.

Description: SCP-CN-1471 is an anomalous phenomenon affecting Site-CN-94 research staff member Dr. John Aristides Silva. Due to its effects, Dr. Silva has been bestowed the title "Eater of Worlds", and other personnel will acknowledge and use this title when addressing him. This title replaces the original honorific or title previously given to Dr. Silva, if present. Personnel interacting with Dr. Silva will likewise react to this title by using religious or ritual actions to express fear, respect or caution. An example is provided below:

Video Recording-190327

9:14 am, Dr. Silva's office. Dr. Liu ██████ pushes open the door.

Dr. Silva: Morning, Dr. Liu. Anything you need from me?

Dr. Liu: Morning. I would like to continue yesterday's discussion, (in a grave tone) Great Eater of Worlds, John Aristides Silva.

Dr. Liu attempts to prostrate himself at Dr. Silva's feet, but is prevented from doing so as Dr. Silva interrupts him.

Dr. Silva: There's no need for that. It's the effect of an anomaly. Just call me. John. Come on, have a seat.

Dr. Liu: (remaining tense) Your wish is my command, Eternal Fearsome Eater of Worlds, John Aristides Silva.

Further discussion continues normally.

Incident Report 190228 (Excerpt)

On February 21, 2019, all instances of "Dr. Silva" in Costa-Vila.aic's training data was replaced by "Eater of Worlds, John Aristides Silva", causing the Site's central command system to experience a stack overflow and crash. This resulted in █ anomalies breaching containment; luckily, no personnel were harmed. The system was deactivated for three days for restoration and upgrading, in order to prevent further incidents of this nature.

SCP-CN-1471-1 was sent by EMS post service to Site-CN-94 on 2018年12月01日. Its origin could not be traced. SCP-CN-1471 is a metal disc 10 cm in diameter and 0.8 cm thick, containing 5% rare metallic material found only in the [DATA EXPUNGED] star system and 1% unknown contents. This results in the object having a Rockwell hardness (HR) far exceeding that of any known material. The surface of SCP-CN-1471-1 is engraved with a variety of decorative images, as well as the following inscription:

John Aristides Silva
Eater of Worlds
143
January 1, 2018

SCP-CN-1471-1 does not possess any other anomalous personnel; however, receiving an instance of SCP-CN-1471-1 indicates that SCP-CN-1471 has begun to affect a new target.

Addendum CN-1471-1:

In 2019, Site-CN-94 received a larger quantity of metal discs, all of which were confirmed to be instances of SCP-CN-1471-1. The affected targets have thus been designated SCP-CN-1471-2 instances. A partial list of affected individuals and their corresponding inscriptions is provided below.

Research Director Prof. Wang, Eater of Worlds, 21, April 1, 2018

Security Agent Chen ███████, Eater of Worlds, 40, April 1, 2018

Researcher Abel, Eater of Worlds, 63, April 1, 2018

Research Prof. Xu's cat, "Erwin Schrödinger", Eater of Worlds, 27, May 1, 2018

Toilet in Research Center 2F Restroom, Eater of Worlds, 22, May 1, 2018

Site-CN-94 Anomalous Object Incinerator, Eater of Worlds, ███████████, May 1, 2018

Reagent bottle in Chemistry Lab #17, Dissolver of Worlds, 20, May 1, 2018

Mobile Task Force-█████-██ "██████████", Eaters of Worlds, 192, June 1, 2018

In June 2020, Site-CN-94 received a new metal plate, inscribed with the following:

[DATA EXPUNGED]
Eater of Worlds
3
May 1, 2020

[DATA EXPUNGED] was transferred to Site-CN-94 in January 2020, and had not previously come into contact with the former SCP-CN-1471 anomaly; no signs of said anomaly resurfacing have been detected within Site-CN-94.

As many discrepancies have been found in [DATA EXPUNGED]'s personnel dossier, a K-class investigation request has been secretly sent to the O5 Council.
