An instance of SCP-CN-1056-1(magnified 1000x)

Object #: SCP-CN-1056

Object class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: The positions of all human individuals to which SCP-CN-1056 has happened should be traced, alongside the SCP-CN-1056-1 entities created. All individuals confirmed to be involved in SCP-CN-1056 incidents should be amnesticized and given Cover Story #1056 "Novel Gustatory Disease" in replacement.

All Foundation personnel involved in SCP-CN-1056 incidents should be reclassed and transferred to the designated site Infected Containment Site-CN-1056.

Description: SCP-CN-1056 is a phenomenon occuring on humans and humanoid individuals, lasting in total of approximately 3 minutes.

During an occurrence of SCP-CN-1056, the individuals would extend their tongue, while the taste buds begin to severe from the tongue and fall under gravity. During the period of falling, the severed structures develop self-awareness and undergo a transformation in appearance, becoming SCP-CN-1056-1 instances. At the end of SCP-CN-1056, the human or humanoid individuals would lose their sense of taste.

SCP-CN-1056-1 has a star-shaped structure, with the upper vertex serving as its head, the middle two vertices as hands and the lower two vertices as feet. The size of SCP-CN-1056-1 remains similar to that before the transformation during SCP-CN-1056.

SCP-CN-1056-1 instances have the ability to remove an unknown substance temporarily described as "gustatory factor" from any foreign object and to transfer it to the oral cavity of its original human host. The choice of gustatory factors by SCP-CN-1056-1 reflect the original preference of taste of the human host.

The self-awareness of SCP-CN-1056-1 is retained depending on the lifetime of the human host. Most SCP-CN-1056-1 cannot transfer hosts, i.e. follow another human being than the host. After the death of the subject of SCP-CN-1056, within a period of 2 minutes, SCP-CN-1056-1 would cease activity and disappear by sublimation.

Footnotes
. Whereas the human host has lost the sense of taste ordinarily, it retains the ability to perceive taste through gustatory factors.
