Special Containment Procedures: SCP-997-KO is contained in containment chambers 128, 156, and 201 of Site-724K. Contact Researcher Kim Garam for access.

Description: SCP-977-KO is a liquid weighing ███t. Its composition is identical to regular seawater. The subject cannot be distinguished from regular seawater through visual analysis and non-anomalous methods.

SCP-977-KO's anomalous traits manifest when it comes into contact with the skin of a regular human (Homo sapiens) for more than 30 minutes. The person's body undergoes slow transformation, starting from extremities such as hands and feet and continuing into the internal organs, ultimately reaching the central nervous system. Completely transformed personnel are visually identical to a regular person but act radically differently. Such behavioural aspects resemble Actinopterygii species, notably matching that of the Pacific bluefin tuna (Thunnus orientalis).

Addendum: The Foundation is unclear of SCP-977-KO's effect magnitude or exact transformation mechanism. An experiment was conducted for better understanding. Below is parts of the transcript.

#001

Experiments: D-888ek was exposed to SCP-977-KO for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, the subject collapsed to the lab floor, flopping around and occasionally making choking or gurgling sounds.

Notes: N/A

#002

Experiment: D-34r5! and three others were exposed to SCP-977-KO for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, the subjects collapsed to the floor, repeating the abovementioned actions. D-&Sgg4 banged his head on the lab wall 37 times in the process.

Notes: N/A

#209

Experiment: 88% of Site-724K personnel is lost due to SCP-977-KO. Experiments were conducted to come up with a solution.

Notes: Greasy.

Based on the experience from experiment 209, SCP-977-KO's potential value seems immense. Therefore, the improvement of Foundation resources using SCP-977-KO was passed by For 2 Against █. From now on, the affected are deemed to have lost their function as personnel and reserved for usages specific to them. Contact Researcher Kim Garam for details.

[Start of log]

O5-2: So do you really think SCP-977-KO can improve Foundation resources? I can see caveats in your report right here.

Researcher Kim Garam: Yes, Overseer. SCP-977-KO is very clearly helping the Foundation. I was thinking of making it Thaumiel, hmm.

O5-2: In what aspect is it helping? I can't see anything but some seawater that cripples Foundation employees.

Researcher Kim Garam: In the food aspect.

O5-2: Food? You mean… Eating? What is the meaning of —

Researcher Kim Garam: I know. I know what you're going to say. But they're not human. Which means… It's not cannibalism. They're completely different. I think you have tasted it before. Silky tuna. Of the bluefin kind.

O5-2: …What about the Ethics Committee?

Researcher Kim Garam: Approved, obviously.

O5-2: …Does the black moon howl?

Researcher Kim Garam: Oh, it wails. Overseer, I don't think you believe this, but this is clearly —

O5-2: It's inhumane! Inhumane, I say! I didn't expect myself as O5 to say this, but it's INHUMANE! I'll make you D-Class right now mysel—

Researcher Kim Garam: Inhumane? Overseer, tunas are large predatory fish. They're quite high up in the food chain. It's not just tuna: swordfish, groupers, mackerels… People want to eat these big predators. It's like only killing tigers, owls, eagles and bears in the forest. You know what will happen if they disappear, don't you?

O5-2: You deranged ecofascist.

Researcher Kim Garam: (Clears Throat) Humanity successfully reduced the tuna population by 96%. The Foundation must have helped. However, it's not a problem anymore. Why? We have a perfect substitute right in front of our very eyes.

Silence.

Researcher Kim Garam: You get me, Overseer. Then…

O5-2's abdomen is cut open. The guts and blood are removed. Steam emerges, and the body is cooked. The spinal cord melts down, and soy oil fills the eye sockets. The sound of boiling and a nutty aroma fills the Overseer's office. The body powerlessly melts down into a single lump. All processes happen autonomously. The lid is sealed on the can.

Researcher Kim Garam leaves the office.

[End of log]

Currently, it is observed that 68% of Foundation personnel are affected by SCP-977-KO.

It will significantly help the rest.
