SCP-645-KO

Item #: SCP-645-KO

Object Class: Keter Neutralized Euclid

Current Special Containment Procedures: The only extant SCP-645-KO-A cannot be contained due to its nature. SCP-645-KO-A is to be continuously monitored, tracking the fluctuations in its anomalous properties. Global monitoring for additional manifestation of SCP-645-KO is also needed.

Previous special containment procedures can be accessed in the RAISA archived database area.

Description: SCP-645-KO is a phenomenon in which subjects (hereafter -A) fulfilling specific criteria gain a weak negative charge. Notably, all particles making up SCP-645-KO-A maintain the same original charges, yet the net charge of the overall system is negative.

SCP-645-KO was initially reported as a minor discrepancy detected in the Manhattan Project at Tennessee, USA, in 1943. When the tests repeatedly experienced frequent static electricity and discrepancies in precision equipment, the UIU suspected interference of anomalies and commissioned an investigation by the Foundation. The Foundation then discovered the existence of SCP-645-KO and proceeded to manage it. The investigation of subsequently manifesting SCP-645-KO-A instances revealed the following criteria for its appearance.

  • The subject must be deeply related to the nucleus
  • The subject must have a strong passion for the nucleus
  • Most people aware of the nucleus must be able to associate it with the subject

The Foundation has concluded that SCP-645-KO was created due to the concept of 'Nucleophile' overlapping with the newly created concept of 'Nuclear Weapons' in the conceptosphere. After the Manhattan Project ended, no new instances of SCP-645-KO were reported. The Foundation attributed this to the concept of the nucleus becoming widespread after 1945, rendering the criteria improbable to be fulfilled. The last instance of SCP-645-KO-A expired, and SCP-645-KO was reclassified as neutralized.

In May 2019, a new instance of SCP-645-KO was reported. Below is the photo of the only extant SCP-645-KO-A.

Considering the nature of SCP-645-KO-A's status, the management of SCP-645-KO was transferred to the Korea Regional Command and was redesignated as SCP-645-KO. Investigations are ongoing.

Footnotes
. Chemical species with a relatively high number of electrons that can donate them. Generally negatively charged.
