SCP-392-FR-α at its recovery site.

Item #: SCP-392-FR

Object Class: Neutralized

Threat Level: Yellow くろまる

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-392-FR-α is contained in a standard storage room for M-sized anomalous objects, located at Site Kybian. A camera is constantly pointed in the direction of the object to capture any potential changes. The recordings are to be analysed daily at high speed. If any activity is observed, Dr. Folker and Dr. Nacra must be notified immediately and the classification of SCP-392-FR must be reviewed.

SCP-392-FR-β must be kept in a cold room at all times in order to slow down the putrefaction of its body. As the entity has no standard biological needs, no specific accommodation is required. Following its request, and because of its collaborative nature and the information he is likely to provide about its origin, he has been allowed to talk to a member of the research staff on a daily basis. However, Dr. Folker has forbidden any information regarding the studies conducted on SCP-392-FR-α to be given to it.

The remains of SCP-392-FR-β are preserved in Morgue #2 at Site-Kybian. The autopsy report carried out on 21/03/1993 is available to read (See Addendum 392-β-3). Any request for access to the cadaver should be addressed to Dr. Folker.

The two remaining intact copies of SCP-392-FR-γ are located in a safe locked by a five-digit combination. The safe is located in the anomalous object storage room No. 5 at Site-Kybian. Requests for access should be addressed to Dr. Nacra. The non-anomalous remains of SCP-392-FR-γ-1 are located in Dr. Nacra's office at Site-Aleph.

Description: SCP-392-FR is composed of three distinct anomalies:

  • SCP-392-FR-α, a set of quartz blocks held in place by a silver structure.
  • SCP-392-FR-β refers to a human corpse riddled with pieces of quartz, similar to those present within SCP-392-FR-α.
  • SCP-392-FR-γ is a set of three objects resembling bear traps, carved from silver identical to that found in SCP-392-FR-α.

SCP-392-FR-α is a static structure measuring two metres and forty centimeters (2.40 m) and weighing one point six tonnes (1.6 t). The object is composed of two distinct materials. The largest part is a collection of pieces of pure white quartz (SiO2) roughly arranged in a vaguely humanoid shape.
The second part is a network of silver filaments entangled around the main body of the object. These filaments appear to originate from a nexus beneath one of the lower ends of the quartz.

The object (originally designated OA-05-1992) was recovered on 8 July 1992 in the Krokskogen forest, thanks to indications given by SCP-392-FR-β (then designated OA-04-1992).

SCP-392-FR-β is an adult male corpse identified as Montez Torabia, a Homeless Man of Spanish origin. Despite its obvious clinical death, the body is able to move and communicate. The entity calls itself Verktøy, but is unable or unwilling to say more about its own nature. It claims not to know its origin or why it is now embodied in a human body.

The subject's body is perforated in various places by quartz fragments measuring between 75 and 413 millimetres. These are deeply embedded in the corpse and cause numerous internal lesions that appear to limit SCP-392-FR-β's ability to move.

Non-anomalous remnants of SCP-392-FR-γ-1 after its activation.

SCP-392-FR-γ-2 and -3 are silver orbs thirteen centimetres (13 cm) in diameter, each weighing approximately thirty-five kilograms (35 kg). Their surface is engraved with various alchemical symbols. When a pressure greater than approximately five hundred newtons (500 N) is applied to its surface, an abnormal reaction occurs and the sphere melts into a large number of filaments that encircle the entity at the origin of the force applied, preventing it from moving. The cables formed have no anomalous properties apart from their very high density.

Addendum 392-1: Preliminary interrogation of SCP-392-FR-β (then designated OA-04-1992) dated 9 July 1992.

Interviewee: OA-04-1992, clinically deceased humanoid probably inhabited by a consciousness of external origin. Subject demonstrates a basic understanding of Bokmål despite an apparent difficulty in expressing itself, possibly due to its condition as a corpse.

Interviewer: Dr. Hemeich Folker, Senior Researcher of level 2 clearance of the Nordic Branch of the Foundation, responsible for the care of humanoid objects of the "Siegel" type.

The interview is translated from Norwegian.

Dr. Folker: Good evening, my name is Dr. Folker. The purpose of this interview is to establish clearly your nature and your intentions. Can you understand what I'm saying?

OA-04-1992: ...Yes.

Dr. Folker: Perfect, In that case I'll…

OA-04-1992: You... Do Seidr ?

Dr. Folker: I beg your pardon?

OA-04-1992: ...Do Magic?

Dr. Folker: No, we are not magicians.

OA-04-1992: Need... Magician.

Dr. Folker: Why do you need a magician?

OA-04-1992: Body Still.

Dr. Folker: You mean this body? A deceased human body. It isn't yours, is it?

OA-04-1992: (turns head towards east wall) Not My Body. Fake Body Does Moving, Does Seeing, Does Talking. Not Strong, Not Durable. Not Practical.

Dr. Folker: Then why are you occupying this body? Is there a connection between your presence in this body and the silver and quartz structure you showed us?

OA-04-1992: (quickly returns attention to Dr. Folker) Yes! Body! Body Still! Magicians Must Help!

Dr. Folker: I don't… Oh. Oh, I see. Your real body is this quartz, isn't it? You're immobilised and you're using these shards to… control this human body.

OA-04-1992: (straightens up suddenly) YES! GOOD MAGICIAN! VERY GOOD! MAGICIAN MUST HELP!

Dr. Folker: (signals to the guard who has come forward to stay put) Please sit back down. Now that I understand your situation, I might be able to help you, but I need you to explain exactly what you are and how you control this corpse.

OA-04-1992: Magician Will Help. I Help Too. Real Ancient Body. Many Years, Hard to Count. Fake Body Not Many Years Left. Don't know how to move fake body. Very New, Not The Same At All.

Dr. Folker: So this is the first time you've occupied a human body?

OA-04-1992 : First Time Body Not Real Body. Moves With Magic, Lets Magic Take Root In Fake Body And Fake Body Moves Too.

Dr. Folker: And the source of this magic would be the quartz crystals planted in this body… How did they get there? Did you kill this person?

OA-04-1992: Not Killer! Not Understand. Human Hunter. Human Screams A Lot. Real Body Runs. Walk On Silver. Pain. Everywhere Silver! Real Body No Longer Moves. Human Hunter No Longer Moves. Try Move Harder. Magic Takes Root. Fake Body Moves Now.

Dr. Folker: Right, then. I see. We're going to end this interview, and an agent will take you to suitable accommodation while we look into the matter.

OA-04-1992 : Good Magician. Trust. Magicians Good People.

. "Seidr" refers to druidic practices in Scandinavian culture.

Report: Despite its limited language, it is very cooperative. More studies are needed on the Anomalous Object n°05-1992. If it is indeed its real body, we will be able to learn more about its exact nature. Unfortunately, we lack the necessary resources here. The French branch has recently opened a Site that would be perfect for housing this anomaly. We also need to work on a way of slowing down its decomposition, as I don't intend to do all my interviews and have to put up with a smell like that every time. – Dr. Folker

Addendum 392-2: Transcript of the letter found on SCP-392-FR-β. It was probably picked up by the latter on 7 July 1992 at a post office in Oslo. The sender was never found.

Nantes,
July 4, 1992

Montez,

You'll find in the package the silver traps you asked for in your last letter. They aren't very pretty, but they work. We'll take care of payment the next time you come to the Jaw, but the prices have gone up. It's getting harder and harder to find a competent alchemist to process silver.

By the way, I contacted Eric and you were right, the birth you felt the other day was indeed at the Valgris. It's a girl, and they've named her Diane. Eric says he wants you to be godfather, so I hope you'll have time to come to Switzerland for his baptism after your Hunt.

Tessa asked me to tell you that you're crazy by the way, according to her there hasn't been a single Bäckahäst in Norway since the Beat of 1832. I don't like agreeing with her, but we haven't heard any rumours on this subject for years, and your tip about "Something big and white" seems lightweight to me.

Anyway, you've only ever listened to your intuition and you're already there, so I'm not going to stop you. I know your Thirst is great.

Don't forget the payment for the traps.

Fruitful be your Hunt, brother.
Henri Ducasse

SCP-392-FR
Subject β

Description of the Corpse:

Subject displays significant muscle mass, contrasting with its thinness, probably due to malnutrition. Its body is also covered in numerous scars and bruises, suggesting that he led a life that exposed him to danger.
Right forearm features a stylised tattoo in black ink depicting a cyclopean entity entangled in ropes.

Internal Wounds:

The presence of quartz shards in the subject's system resulted in the perforation of both lungs. The intestine was also affected, resulting in its contents leaking into the peritoneal cavity.

External Wounds:

Ten perforations of the epidermal tissues by quartz fragments of various sizes. An extreme friction burn is present on the left side of the subject, extending from the chest to the back of the shoulder.
The ligaments used to move the right wrist, left elbow and right knee were severed. Damage to the left hamstring and right biceps prevents muscle contraction.

Additional Notes:

The shards were extracted without incident. The remains have been entrusted to Dr. Folker for further study, but preliminary analyses seem to indicate that the anomalous activity of the shards has ceased.

An anomaly was nevertheless detected in the subject's blood, but its nature appears to be completely different from SCP-392-FR-α. Further tests will be conducted by the Anomalous Individuals Monitoring Bureau to understand the presence of [DATA EXPUNGED] in the subject's blood.

Addendum 392-3-A: Recordings from the storage room of SCP-392-FR-α revealed that the object had jolted during extraction. No activity has been reported since the end of the operation.

Status

Handling:

SCP-392-FR-β has been moved to Site Kybian morgue #2. The other components of the anomaly are being kept under surveillance. The class of SCP-392-FR has been downgraded to Safe.

Addendum 392-3-B: No activity recorded from SCP-392-FR-α. SCP-392-FR is now considered Neutralised.
