Special Containment Procedures: SCP-204-DE-A and -B are currently contained in an armored cabinet within Site-DE20. A Level 3 clearance is needed for testing.
If the O4-Council decides to use the object to contain another anomaly, the Special Containment Procedures of both anomalies are to be edited according to the new procedures.
Description: SCP-204-DE-A is a 7,5 kilogram heavy wooden chest, measuring 50 x 30 x 30 centimeters; the exact type of wood can’t be determined due to the primary effect of the object. Visually seen, it’s most likely walnut wood. On all sides, except the bottom one, there is a construct of a total of [REDACTED] gears and twenty-four (24) different clocks, which only share the similarity of running mechanically. They all run perfectly accurate, but always offset from each other by one (1) hour. During the initial inspection, only the effect of being indestructible could be noted, thus resulting in it being classified as an anomalous object. Additionally, during Test-204/A-DE, it was detected that a temporal anomaly is located within SCP-204-DE-A, which can cause a stoppage of time for exactly 24 hours. To activate the anomaly, SCP-204-DE-B must be inserted into a slot on the upper front and must be rotated once (1x) to the right, causing all gears to move as well. These normally don’t move. Additionally, the top of SCP-204-DE-A must be closed to activate the anomaly. There is an obvious logo of the Group of Interest GoI-███-DE, also known as "Mages Academy", which is engraved into the inner side of the top.
SCP-204-DE-B is a metal, presumably iron, slightly corroded key, which also possesses the primary effect of SCP-204-DE-A. With a length of 7 centimeters and a weight of 20 grams, it matches commercial standards.
Addendum:
Discovery: SCP-204-DE was secured by Mr. ████, who tried to sell the object at an auction. An automatic webcrawler registered the logo of the mages academy on a picture on the website of the auction house. After an additional interrogation and a house investigation, ████ was administered amnestics, released and placed under observation.
Interviewer: Interrogator Harald Boris Angst
Interviewed: Mr. Peter ████
Foreword: Due to ████ being uncooperative during the initial interview, stress-inducing psychotrop [REDACTED] was used in combination with olfactory-memetic agent MW-128 to force an answer.
[BEGIN LOG]
Angst: Hello, Mr. ████, I'm here to, uhm-
████: You are doing nothing here! You kidnapped me! I order my immediate release! You won’t get my invention! Not in a hundred years! Who do you work for? Hm? The CIA, the mossad or for any group?
Angst: Please stop screaming at me and let me finish talking.
████: No way! I want to be released immediately!
Angst: You must answer some of our questions first.
████: I won’t do anything! You fascist! Authoritarian pig! Kidnapper! Satanist!
Angst: Calm down.
████ continues to insult Mr. Angst. He looks at his watch, seemingly waiting for the memetic agent to begin working.
████: (shouting) I want to get out of here! You, …, you, …
The Interviewed shakes for a moment and then begins to cough loudly, as the agent activates in his consciousness and blocks several memplexes.
Angst: Did you calm down now?
████: Yeah …
Angst: Good, then you can answer my questions.
████: Yeah …
Angst: (whispering) Is it supposed to be like that? How did you create your chest?
████: I did not create it.
Angst: Where did you get it from then?
████: From a dead person.
Angst: Did you kill them?
████: No, I found him.
Angst: Please explain the exact circumstances.
████: Two weeks ago, I was jogging at the river bank on the outskirts of the town. I saw him laying there. He was missing half of his head. That chest was next to him. I’m a simple owner of a kiosk and don’t earn much, so I wanted to take it with me. It looked like some kind of artwork to me.
Angst: And what did you do with the dead body?
████: I threw it back into the [REDACTED], so it would be brought out of town.
Angst: Then one last thing: When did you … find out about the anomalous effects?
████: When I was back home. I wanted to bring it in the basement, but it fell while I was walking down the stairs. From six meters on floor made of rocks! That was already suspicious to me. I investigated it after a few days and found the key in the gearbox. But I tried to remove a gear meanwhile. It didn’t work though! I spent the rest of the week trying to damage that thing, but I didn’t even leave a mark. Five days ago, I realized, that it would only increase the prize; and I knew that there was an auction soon. You know the rest, yeah?
(Mr. ████ begins to cough and shake again, as the effect of the meme ceases.)
Angst: That was very insightful, thanks. The interview is over.
████: Why … Why did I say all that?
[END LOG]
Closing Statement: The dead body that ████ described could actually be found by Foundation agents near the named shore within the reeds. Due to the man having several big rock crystals, it is assumed, that it is a, possibly renegade, member of the mages academy who constructed SCP-204-DE.
NOTE FOR THE USE OF SCP-204-DE:
The threat level white does mean, that we can use the object; but this doesn’t allow you to request the anomaly for completely inappropriate purposes. The second part of the Special Containment Procedures isn’t there for no reason. It is harmless and useful, but it’s from the mages academy or a former member of it. They will want to get the anomaly back in both cases. I can’t tell you how, but we already have enough problems keeping it a secret from the mages academy.
For that reason: Requests for using SCP-204-DE will now be rejected categorically.
