SCP-117-PT in its inactive state.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-117-PT is currently stored in a high-strength transparent polymer box measuring 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 meters, designed for the containment of Safe-class anomalies, with restricted access and digital entry control at Site PT5. The object's containment locker must be padded to prevent structural damage to the anomaly in case of impact.

Direct interaction with SCP-117-PT may only be carried out with the express authorization of Dr. Felipe Montenegro, the researcher in charge of the object's investigation and containment. Physical contact with the glass surface of the anomaly is strictly prohibited outside of authorized testing sessions. Electrostatic rubber gloves must be worn during any physical handling of the object by authorized personnel to prevent accidental anomalous manifestations.

All Class-D subjects used in testing must undergo psychological evaluation before and after contact with SCP-117-PT. Immediate psychological intervention must be provided in the event of severe emotional reactions.

Any attempt to capture, record, or replicate the images generated by SCP-117-PT must be documented and archived, even if unsuccessful, for future review.

Description: SCP-117-PT is a rectangular wooden frame with grey-colored circular carvings, measuring 23 centimeters in height and 19 centimeters in width. The front panel is made of glass, behind which there is no photographic paper, film, or any other physical image support.

The anomalous properties of SCP-117-PT manifest when a human subject makes direct contact with the object's glass surface. Upon doing so, the object produces an image that appears on the inner side of the glass, visible exclusively to the individual initiating the contact. External observers report seeing only a smooth white photographic paper, even during active manifestation of the anomaly. The generated photographic paper, identified as Kodak Endura Premier, measures 16 centimeters in height and 9 centimeters in width. The images produced consist of personal memories that have been forgotten or repressed by the observer, including traumatic events, significant life moments, or experiences of intense emotional weight.

If contact is interrupted, the image gradually fades from the photographic paper. Attempts to document the images described by the subjects have been carried out based on their verbal accounts. Even when the subject claims to see an image during contact, photographic and digital records capture only the white background of the photographic paper generated by the anomaly. This suggests that the manifestation is cognitively restricted to the subject and remains invisible to any external recording system.

SCP-117-PT does not manifest anomalous effects with every individual who comes into contact with its glass surface. This variability suggests a selection criterion employed by the object, although the determining factors behind this response remain unknown.

The psychological reactions observed following the use of SCP-117-PT result solely from the emotional content of the evoked images. The object itself exhibits no known form of consciousness or emotional intent.

The experiential nature of the manifestation makes objective verification of the content impossible, rendering any analysis entirely dependent on the subject’s personal account. Further testing has been suspended indefinitely due to the potential risk of psychological disturbance and the lack of verifiable data to justify the continuation of experimental studies.

Addendum PT117.1 – Discovery: SCP-117-PT was discovered in a nursing home in the Santarém region of Portugal, following a visit by Officer Paiva to his uncle, Valete Paiva, a 94-year-old resident of the home. The officer reported finding his uncle in a clear state of shock after having "seen a photograph that wasn’t there before," which resulted in the rapid activation of the Special Operations Command (SOC) and subsequently the deployment of Mobile Task Force PT1 – "Olhos Alados." An MTF PT1 operative was sent to the site undercover as a nurse, locating and investigating the initial effects of the anomaly and ensuring personnel safety, which was later secured. The incident was covered up with a narrative of a collective hallucination caused by a gas leak. Class B amnestics were administered to individuals who had direct contact with the anomaly.

It was later confirmed that SCP-117-PT’s anomalous abilities had manifested for at least two other residents, one of whom was also in shock and displaying signs of severe anxiety.

A letter was left by Officer Paiva after the incident.

During my routine visit to my uncle, Valete Paiva, at the Nossa Senhora da Luz Nursing Home in Santarém, Portugal, I noticed that upon entering, my uncle was sitting on his bed staring at his bedside table, on which SCP-117-PT was placed.

His eyes were red, and he was in an obvious state of emotional distress. I asked what was happening, and after a few moments, he said:

"She came back, as if she had never disappeared."

Hesitantly, I asked who "she" was. My uncle replied:

"The frame, I touched the frame and an image of your aunt appeared."

My uncle was crying on my shoulder for the first time. I am 34 years old.

"I feel sad, but so light at the same time."

According to him, the frame had been placed by a caregiver at the home two days prior. This coincided with his recent initial Alzheimer’s diagnosis.

"The frame had been circulating through the dormitories of the home," he added.

I immediately contacted Special Operations Command.

What was happening in that nursing home was beyond any ordinary explanation.

– Officer Paiva
