Special Containment Procedures: Subject is contained in a standard humanoid containment cell. Meat-free meals are served three times a day. Subjects receive psychiatric care once a week. No weapons of any type are to be brought into the containment chamber.
When feeding the subject meat (see Addendum), it is to be forcefully ingested through the nose, mixed with the muscle-tissue broth and the confession agent. SCP-072-KO is to be subjected to Class-C amnestics after use is complete.
Description: SCP-072-KO is a human male in his late twenties. The subject's height/weight is 165/45 (cm/kg), about 10 cm shorter than average, and underweight. The subject suffers from severe depressive disorder and requires regular counseling and medication.
When SCP-072-KO ingests vertebrate tissue, it reads and remembers the subject's memories. It is described that interpretation is possible only with the sense organs of the animal, and the further the biological relationship between the animal and the human, the more difficult it is to interpret. Stimuli that are not perceptible by humans (such as ultrasound, infrared) or stimuli that are not perceptible by the animal but which humans can perceive (such as when the animal is colorblind) cannot be read by the subject. Emotions such as fear and excitement are limitedly shared. Anything that the animal does not remember cannot be read by the subject.
For example, memories acquired by SCP-072-KO after ingesting muscle tissue from mackerel (Scomber japonicus) have described it as blurry and reddish, audible more clearly, and a refreshing smell instead of a broad field of view. He also stated that the tactile sensation was continuously felt in the flanks in his memory, possibly due to the influence of the lateral line.
Recognition of memory appears to proceed for several minutes immediately after ingestion, during which time SCP-072-KO exhibits a 'dazed' behavior and becomes insensitive to external stimuli. The further the animal from which the ingested tissue was harvested has a biological relationship with humans, the longer it takes. On average, when mammalian tissue is ingested, it takes 1 to 2 minutes, and when fish tissue is ingested, it takes 5 to 6 minutes. When a psychotropic drug is administered to the tissue and ingested, the time required can be up to twice as long.
Vertebrate tissues include muscles, organs, skin, blood, and bone broth, and do not include parts commonly considered inedible, such as bones, hair, and claws. Life or death at the time of harvest or ingestion of the vertebrate from which the tissue was harvested is not related to the anomaly. It is believed that for this anomaly to manifest, the subject must feel the taste and aroma of the tissue, so it has no effect if the amount of tissue is too small.
SCP-072-KO does not voluntarily consume meat and is extremely hostile to any attempts to feed it. This is likely due to the fact that the subject also reads and remembers memories of the death of the vertebrate from which the tissue was harvested.
SCP-072-KO was discovered in a mental hospital in Changwon, South Korea. It appears that the subject's family placed the subject in an isolation ward due to repeated refusal to eat meat, abnormal behavior after consumption, and the resulting severe depressive symptoms. A Foundation agent who was working as a psychiatrist in a psychiatric hospital under the guise of consulting and conducting simple experiments with the subject revealed that it was an anomalous entity.
Addendum: At the suggestion of Dr. Lee ██ in charge of SCP-072-KO, as of 1/1/2016, it will be used for Foundation Intelligence services. Up to once a week, the target can be ingested with tissue collected from Persons of Interest both inside and outside the Foundation. Immediate amnestics are to be taken to prevent the subject from knowing this.
Please note that the position of Dr. SCP-072-KO is currently vacant, as Dr. Lee ██ was transferred on 12/1/2016 following the impeachment of the Ethics Committee.
