Special Containment Procedures: SCP-013-KO is contained in a control room at Site 21, equipped with a soundproof wall 8 meters wide and no floors. The computer containing SCP-013-KO must not be connected to any speakers or network transmission devices. Normally, no one is allowed inside the control room, and it is only monitored through CCTV. As a precaution, all personnel at Site-21 are provided with earplugs that can block up to 300 dB.
SCP-013-KO has already taken control over a computer. The computer containing SCP-013-KO must not be physically destroyed. However, when inevitable, only the hard drive containing SCP-013-KO should be removed from the computer and then transferred to another secure computer.
Individuals affected by SCP-013-KO undergo an individual gamma-ray physical examination. If no radiation is detected from the infected person, they are not disposed of. Instead, they receive a Class B amnestic treatment. Conversely, if radiation is detected from the infected person, they are immediately disposed of.
Description: SCP-013-KO refers to four anomalous data files similar to the waveform audio format (.wav). These are named SCP-013-KO-1 to 4, respectively. Attempts to delete SCP-013-KO normally result in a message error window displaying 'ᄏᄏᄏᄏᄏ', and subsequent rejection. Additionally, attempts to replicate and transfer to other HDDs have failed.
Effects of SCP-013-KO manifest when played on a sound-extracting player. If an organism with human-level intelligence reacts to SCP-013-KO, anomalies described below occur. Additionally, gamma waves ranging from 60 to 75 Hz are recorded from the infected individuals. The victims continue to experience tinnitus similar to the sound of SCP-013-KO, unless they are administered amnestic treatment. Replicated data recorded on recording devices do not exhibit any effects except for SCP-013-KO-4.
SCP-013-KO-1 This audio file sounds like a coin dropping. Victims who hear this sound believe they mistakenly dropped an object they were holding. Subsequently, they unconsciously pick up items they see on the floor. If no items are visible within a 2-meter radius on the floor, the victim's fingernails begin to fall out, one every minute. Analysis of the fallen fingernails shows that they have transformed into an alloy similar to coins, composed of nickel and copper. The victims become aware of the missing fingernails and experience pain. Victims without fingernails feel pain and a pressure of 10kg at their fingertips. The sound level was measured at 14 dB.
SCP-013-KO-2 This audio file sounds like something being trampled, but some researchers also described it as the sound of something falling and breaking. Victims who hear this sound spontaneously experience around 200kg of pressure on parts of their body, resulting in trauma. Autopsies of the victims revealed fractures and cerebral haemorrhages. The sound was measured at 74 dB.
SCP-013-KO-3 This audio file sounds like a piano, and it is receiving a big impact. However, whether the sound is caused by something falling onto the piano or by the piano itself falling is debated. Victims experience an increase in gravitational force affecting their bodies. If they continue to listen, they are pinned down onto floor, unable to move, leading to severe internal damage throughout the body. The sound was measured at over 200 dB.
SCP-013-KO-4 This audio file is related to sounds that can occur within the exposed area. Not only those who hear it but also the space above are affected. If the infection spreads to the top floor of the building in this condition, the building's structural integrity is compromised, and the it collapses until it reaches a height of 0 meters. If radiation is detected from the victims, they should be disposed of immediately asthe effect of the amnestic treatment persists. The autopsy results of the victims showed a significant amount of strontium in the body. The final measured value was ████ dB.
According to investigation records about SCP-013-KO, it was originally a remote brainwave induction device (E-013-KO) disguised as a .ogg file. Personnel exposed to the sound of E-013-KO maintain gamma waves of 65Hz in their brainwaves, and information about the infected is shared through the server of the newly constructed ████ villa. Victims associated with E-013-KO experience a side effect of the keratin supporting the lunula of their fingernails decreases by half. E-013-KO was secretly developed by a subsidiary of Plugsoft. On June 13, 2017, in ███-dong, ██-gu, ██ city, a building of the newly constructed ████ villa, a ghost subsidiary of Plugsoft, collapsed. Due to this incident, all data related to E-013-KO was destroyed. Recorded casualties totaled 132. During the investigation, the Foundation discovered a computer storing SCP-013-KO in the rubble. The incident was manipulated in the media as an accident during the demolition of an abandoned building.
