SCP-011-INT

Item #: SCP-011-INT

Object Class: Thaumiel

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-011-INT is currently physically uncontained; considering its capabilities to affect the space-and-time continuum, containment solutions have been shifted to the maintenance of the documents, and any such technical, historiographical, and other such archival material associated with the anomalous phenomena, and its elements as per the joint effort conducted by, and through the efforts of Project Time In Memorial.

Project Time in Memorial is an initiative promoted by the Germanophone, and Lusophone branches of the Foundation, hosted at the facilities of Site Concordia where the infrastructure for the safekeeping of any associated material is available to project members, or other relevant peers.

Information about the project, and its relevant anomalous object, or any other future event that will be the cause of its existence is to be protected through standard internal, and external disinformation protocols; it is currently unknown when, where, what, and how the events which actually create SCP-011-INT occur but efforts to project preemptive containment procedures to the event, or series of events which caused the extant existence of SCP-011-INT are underway.

After the onset incident in 1969, SCP-011-INT has manifested during several emergencies of the Foundation to assist combat, and relief efforts. Since 2015, standing orders are to screen all Foundation facilities's infrastructure for foreign materials associated with SCP-011-INT as a means of preemptively managing the object's effects such as allowing certain actions to take place, as dictated by logic, in order to prevent temporal instabilities, and preparing on-site personnel, and its resources to act upon the anomaly's projected arrival.

Description: SCP-011-INT is a collection of anomalous phenomena associated with a sophisticated set of heavy power armour that affects relative time and space in this observable dimension. Several years can elapse without SCP-011-INT manifesting itself, and it is currently unknown how the object operates or resides in these intermediary periods.

SCP-011-INT-B is a human male of unknown age. Current investigations into the identity of the individual yielded no result. It is hypothesised that this individual is an essential component of the anomaly's phenomena as they operate the systems of SCP-011-INT-A.

SCP-011-INT-A is a body armour made of heavy plating, and several mechanical, and electronic paratechnological components in a system with ~230cm in height, and ~900kg of weight. Its white-painted outer hull always exhibits a certain degree of damage from various sources, such as dents, scratches, holes, or otherwise structural faults that would leave its systems without function.

Regardless of the state of its structural systems, SCP-011-INT-A is capable of operating without any or only little of such associated problems. Its primary systems are capable of long-range time-and-space dislocation (teleportation), and it has exhibited a plethora of secondary, and tertiary systems integrating thaumaturgic mechanisms such as:

  • An arm-mounted cannon capable of cooling materials to near absolute zero in less than a picosecond, presumably a heat ray inverted thanks to its anomalous properties;
  • A generator capable of creating structural shielding through the creation of a barrier-like ontokinectic structure;
  • The manifestation of different firearms, and explosives, from conventional weaponry to classified paratechnological prototypes, or otherwise foreign technology not located in Foundation-specific databanks, and its corresponding ammunition.

It is hypothesised that SCP-011-INT-A possesses an artificial intelligence construct connecting its systems directly to SCP-011-INT-B via surgical integration to the subject's nervous system. This artificial intelligence supports SCP-011-INT-A's operations; analysis of SCP-011-INT-A's plating, and other subsystems indicate an intricate system of 360o audio surveillance, and sensorial equipment present throughout the outer shell of the object; such a system appears to be integral to the fact that the object seems to respond autonomously to certain stimuli, such as perceived threats, or maintenance needs.

Several engineers observing the anomaly noted numerous similarities between SCP-011-INT-A's features, and other such assets created, or purposed by the Lusophone, and Germanophone branches of the Foundation.

SCP-011-INT-A's most notable anomalous property is manifested at the object's immediate location; it and projectiles of it will affect, and invert the continua of space-and-time; as a result, the causes, and effects of whatsoever actions performed, or influenced by its systems, will be reversed, or otherwise inverted, independently of any paradoxical relations caused by cognition, observation, or whatever previous, or future registers; such mechanisms which intermediate this undisturbed, yet perplexing flow of time have not been conclusively investigated by Foundation resources.

This paradoxical effect is manifested in a multitude of incongruent ways; objects directly interacting with SCP-011-INT-A appear to be displaced in time-and-space retroactively to their cause, or even completely change their cause-and-effect in order to manipulate the outcome of certain events.

For an outside observer, this for example causes SCP-011-INT to move backwards and bullets formerly embedded in walls to return to SCP-011-INT-A's gun barrel instead of being shot out when it fires. Living beings hurt during the course of these phenomena would, when the projectile remains in their body, invariably and gradually develop wounds over days or even months before their direct, or indirect exposition to whatsoever associated phenomenon caused them in the first place, only to completely heal thereafter. Until now, it has never been observed that a victim died because of this phenomenon. Should the projectile, however, completely pass through the victim to hit another target, damage will manifest in the usual way.

SCP-011-INT is effected during critical situations which have been considered historical failures associated with the performance of the Foundation and/or its branches in their primary mission for containment, security, and protection of anomalous assets.

In those cases, SCP-011-INT manifests at the onset, or during these catastrophic failures, trying to act heuristics to solve the issues directly associated with immediate problems, rather than solving whatsoever previous cause, or reason that might have occasioned such an event.

Discovery: The components comprising the armor were originally obtained as extremely damaged standalone pieces; anachronistically, the relevant components were located in time periods with a distinctive juxtaposition with the availability of the technology necessary to construct them, also, they already possessed their causality-inverting effect.

Originally, these components were classified as a collection of anomalous objects. With the first part found in 1906 in Augsburg, Germany, the objects were stored by the Germanophone branch, whose area of influence comprised most of the locations in which pieces were found over the years. The collection was completed in 1967, loosely reassembled and welded together by engineers of the Germanophone Branch, and put into storage.

In 1969, during a routine inspection of the infrastructure of the facility in which SCP-011-INT-A's components were stored, several types of foreign materials were discovered in several parts of the facility walls; these materials were later identified as ammunition, and shrapnel from various sources; staff was about to extract these objects and had drilled holes in the walls to reach them before the onset of the first SCP-011-INT-Event.

Simultaneously to this attempted repair, during the testing of a newly installed incinerator for biological waste, a partly dissected human corpse, wearing a skin-tight suit made from artificial material, assembled itself in the flames, and was taken from the machine to the on-site morgue.

The body was identified as SCP-011-INT-B, whose cause of death was determined to be exhaustion, and electrocution. The medical staff responsible for the necropsy noted that during the procedures they unwittingly restored several systems of the body which was initially partially carbonised.

During the preparations for the transference, and classification of the body as an anomalous object, it was temporarily placed on the ground due to a piece of faulty equipment; the body suddenly made an inverted fall motion, and remained swaying in place for several seconds; at the time, present personnel noted that the body seemed to be regaining bodily functions as it "smiled incessantly".

After two minutes, the body began stumbling backwards, and out of the room, straight towards the laboratory where SCP-011-INT-A was currently being sprawled on the floor and inspected; doors, and other lock mechanisms opened automatically to allow passage to SCP-011-INT-B. Following SCP-011-INT-B's arrival at the laboratory, all SCP-011-INT-A's components floated upwards to its pilot as he passed them and gradually and autonomously assembled as a proper system.

SCP-011-INT-A continued walking backwards towards one of the site's containment facilities; upon reaching the infrastructure, a site-wide containment breach was declared — although originally believed to be due to SCP-011-INT's entering, it was discovered that the alarm had been issued by SCP-173-DE's containment team as several instances managed to escape containment, and formed a composite with ~3 metres in height.

SCP-173-DE managed to break through the door of its containment chamber just as SCP-011-INT-A moved past it, and thus engaged with it. SCP-173-DE aimed at a distinctive group of holes at the SCP-011-INT-A's central thoracic components, and siphoned electricity from it, which jittered, and relapsed into a standing position; following this attack, the damage from SCP-011-INT-A's targeted thoracic components had disappeared.

Seconds later, SCP-173-DE retracted its limbs as it suffered a powerful knockback caused by an inverted explosion from a source that had been formed from shrapnel in the walls at its immediate front; the resulting implosion had sufficient force to completely disperse the object into smaller instances thereof.

The remaining composites of SCP-173-DE attempted to outflank SCP-011-INT-A; during the ensuing contact, SCP-011-INT-A started employing weaponry which, seemingly, caused the bullets in the walls to dislodge, ricochet from SCP-173-DE, and return to their apparent source in SCP-011-INT-A's systems. Following the neutralisation of SCP-173-DE's immediate threat, SCP-011-INT-A seemed to look, and walk around in apparent exasperation before suddenly vanishing in a flash of light.

Event: Attack on Outpost-023/DE12;
Year: 1980;
Debrief: SCP-011-INT manifested during an attack on the now-abandoned Outpost-023/DE12, a small house in the East-Berlin suburbs.

Operatives of Division XXV, at the time, posing as officers of the Volkspolizei, and members of Main Division III had surrounded the property, trapping Foundation personnel barricaded inside the house.

SCP-011-INT manifested; SCP-011-INT-A broke into the house through one of the doors prviously destroyed by Stasi operatives; the advance of which was then halted by a shock grenade that reformed in the hallway.

SCP-011-INT-A proceeded to evacuate the trapped Foundation personnel by projecting an energy-based shield, and providing covering fire; personnel managed to secure a vehicle, and flee the scene. It is presumed that SCP-011-INT-A stopped Section XXV agents from following in pursuit; it is unknown under which circumstances the anomaly vanished.

Event: Raid of the Fascist Council of the Occult (CFO) on Site Asclepio;
Year: 1992;
Debrief: SCP-011-INT manifested during a coordinated attack by the CFO on the Italianophone secure facility Site Asclepio.

The CFO had hijacked a cargo convoy of the Italian Branch of the Foundation, and utilised the captured vehicles to hide several chimeric cephalopod lifeforms; the entities had ~14 metres in length, their physical structure incorporated crustacean-like features such as claws, a suction foot for locomotion and an extremely resistant, yet flexible exoskeleton.

That characteristic conferred the lifeforms enough elasticity to be stowed into the cargo, and into the facilities of Site Asclepio, where they were released; primary response forces, and assets proved ineffective in suppressing the rampaging lifeforms — which were making their way to containment areas, shortly followed by CFO operatives; it was noted that the lifeforms were moving erratically, as if their bodies once-functional fine movements had been damaged for quite some time; also, the structure nearby presented several signs of destruction, stemming from extraction efforts from italian maintenance teams, aimed at foreign objects in walls, floor and ceiling.

SCP-011-INT-A manifested in front of the access door to the on-site heavy containment facilities, and proceeded to engage the entities with explosive rounds, and grenades; causing debris, and fragments to be ripped out of the chimeric bodies as well as from the surrounding walls and floor and through the aggressors, and return to the nearby infrastructure, and weaponry. In this process, several wounds of the chimeras were healed but others and more severe ones were inflicted tue to shrapnel passing through their bodies.

The apparent damage to SCP-011-INT-A's armour plates was consequently repaired after being struck several times by the jittering chimaeras; the lifeforms expired shortly before the arrival of a Mobile Task-Force on the scene.

It was noted that SCP-011-INT-A seemed to be incapable of listening, or deliberately ignored attempts at communication. According to witnesses, the object looked around, in apparent confusion, before vanishing in a flash of light.

Whilst the situation was considered successfully resolved, CFO operatives escaped with three anomalous objects in their possession.

Event: Containment Breach of SCP-062-FR in Site Yod;
Year: 1999;
Debrief: SCP-011-INT manifested during a containment breach of SCP-062-FR.

The containment chamber housing SCP-062-FR had become inaccessible due to an on-site lockdown, caused by an investigation into foreign objects stuck in several walls of the sector, which meant that the object could no longer be provided with food. Whilst initially hibernating, changes in the object's physical structure were noted, notably the broadening of the shoulders, and the manifestation of a resilient exoskeleton on its body.

SCP-062-FR proceeded to ram into its chamber doors, causing severe structural damage, bursting through it after several attempts; the object began to roam the locked-down sector, causing further infrastructural damage.

The situation prompted a response by the site command; security personnel was dispatched to re-contain SCP-062-FR, however, attempts at realising the object's containment were unsuccessful; the object had ambushed personnel; it was noted that the halls of the sector were damaged by holes construction personnel had created to dislodge the foreign objects in the concrete mentioned beforehand, a task that had so far not been completed.

SCP-011-INT-A manifested as SCP-062-FR attempted to make its way to break through the sector's lockdown; several armour-piercing rounds dislodged from the walls, repairing them in the process and travelled through the object's exoskeleton, back into SCP-011-INT-A's weaponry, causing large amounts of damage to the anomalous entity.

Notably, SCP-062-FR seemed to be incapable of adapting to SCP-011-INT-A's containment solutions; the object was successfully immobilised with a hardened polymer-like substance utilised by one of SCP-011-INT-A's systems.

An MTF was dispatched to the scene, but SCP-011-INT-A dematerialised several seconds before contact could be made.

Event: Assault on Anomalous Item Nr. 714PT;
Year: 2003;
Debrief: SCP-011-INT manifested during an assault on the now-decommissioned facility holding Anomalous Item Nr. 714PT.

Following the restructuration of the Lusophone Branch, AIN.714PT — a series of anomalous libraries recovered from the Lusophone GoI "Brazilian Superintendence for the Paranormal" — was being moved to a new facility after the decommissioning of its old containment site. During which, heavy military forces from an unknown organisation assaulted the logistics, and security team responsible for the anomalous object, and absconded with it.

This event had been catalogued, and archived on the database of the Lusophone's Foundation quantum AI Camomila; once inspected during a standard maintenance cycle, it was discovered that the documents associated with this particular event had been subjected to temporal anomalies. Whereas several versions of the events had been catalogued, it is theorised that this is due to Camomila's quanta-based systems.

The review of this affected documentation infers that the effects transcribed are verisimilar to those of SCP-011-INT; citing the sudden apparition of an armoured individual that proceeded to wreak havoc amongst the forces attacking Lusophone Foundation personnel. It is noted that, invariably, all existing reports conclude with AIN.714PT being absconded with.

Event: Manifestation at Site Concordia;
Year: 2020;
Debrief: SCP-011-INT manifested at the premises of Site Concordia on the 12th of July, 2020 despite no incidents occurring thence.

On-site personnel initially reacted with shock, and issued an emergency sector-wide lockdown, with relevant special containment procedures being effected once Project staff recognised SCP-011-INT, during which, attempts at communicating with SCP-011-INT-B were made.

These attempts were initially unsuccessful as the present staff was incapable of understanding SCP-011-INT-B's words; Dr. Lehmann — an on-site linguist — noticed that SCP-011-INT-A spoke English in reverse, and utilised an audio recorder to reproduce her voice, and SCP-011-INT-A's voice in reverse to mediate an impromptu interview.

This interview was conducted between Dr. Lehmann, and SCP-011-INT-B, who did not move away from their initial landing spot. Communication occurred by recording exchanges on a handheld recorder, and tandemly playing the input in reverse.

Dr. Lehmann: Can you understand me now?

SCP-011-INT-B: I suppose this is where the conversation starts for you. I don't think I have too much time left, but it is relieving to have somebody to talk to, other than this can I might be stuck in. But, alas, now I will have to excuse you. Do tell my story, please

Dr. Lehmann: Excuse me?

SCP-011-INT-B: It is time, now, apparently.

Dr. Lehmann: Whatsoever do you mean by that?

SCP-011-INT-B: Well, you see — before all of this, I was just a normal soldier once. Then the Foundation took me in after I had proven that I could hold my own against some weird things straight out of a DOOM game. I made it to The Defenders. Some more success later, I was elected to participate in this time-bending power-armour-thingie project.

Dr. Lehmann: What? Are you telling me about yourself?

SCP-011-INT-B: Something went wrong, obviously. Instead of the shield working, somehow, MY flow of time got inverted; so now, everything, for me, goes backwards. It is kinda weird at first, but I eventually got used to it. I even had to troubleshoot some unprecedented problems with the systems by myself.

Dr. Lehmann: What happened?

SCP-011-INT-B: Well, apparently, everything was tested, but never ACTUALLY put together. Something about all the components having A TONNE of friction between them when assembled? Well, they thought that everything was fixed, given the systems were all operational even after some stress-testing, but I guess even then they missed some things.

Dr. Lehmann: How come? Are you sure it was completely tested?

SCP-011-INT-B: This suit does have some sort of AI implanted into it, but, it is not really talkative. It didn't even give me the time — ha! — to adapt properly before teleporting me through space, and time into a kerfuffle. I don't think it realises that punching things is most often not really the solution to things, but I don't expect a lot from an electronic brain with the intelligence of a tapeworm.

Dr. Lehmann: Wait. You have been doing this all alone?

SCP-011-INT-B: As of now, I have been doing this shite for about three weeks already? I think that in the first few skirmishes I've been to, I've actually made things way worse before everything clicked in my mind. But I've realised that I need to think in reverse as well; getting bullets stuck in my enemies only meant that I healed them from an observer's perspective, so, I shot the walls instead, and — well, it just worked.

Dr. Lehmann: Wait — what? For how long?

SCP-011-INT-B: I mean, I don't quite know. But let me tell you what I do know. You see, I was selected for this suit; they told me it was the culmination of Luso-German-yadda paratechnology. That it could generate any sort of weapon, teleport, and even had a shield that could freeze space, AND time. Pretty much everything was managed by an AI that could detect emergencies in the entire world, but it needed a pilot to, well, make sure it was actually working.

Dr. Lehmann: What-so-ever do you mean? Are you unsure or —…

SCP-011-INT-B: I wouldn't reckon, really. Well, that will be troublesome. But, alas, I need somebody to talk to, or else I will go completely insane inside this can of sardines. Listen to me.

Dr. Lehmann: We are starting this conversation from opposite ends, aren't we? Shit.

SCP-011-INT-B: Ah, I see. Lena Lehmann, PhD. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Doctor.

Dr. Lehmann: We really are. God damn it. I should have got the hang of this sooner… Are you aware, that we are starting this conversation from opposite ends?

SCP-011-INT-B: Wait. I think I recognise this place. Let me scan you. Sorry if it tickles.

Dr. Lehmann: Transcribing, and making sense of this will be a headache.

SCP-011-INT-B: What the fuck. Where the hell are we now? Ma'am, I suggest you seek shelter.

Dr. Lehmann: Fuck.

Following that, SCP-011-INT-B ignored any further attempts at communication. SCP-011-INT-A looked around in confusion before disappearing.

Analyses of subsequent appearances of SCP-011-INT indicate that the damage sustained by SCP-011-INT-A appears to diminish gradually, however, so is SCP-011-INT-B's combat prowess; because of its temporal inverted nature, this experience in operating the armour under stress is degrading with each appearance, which correlates with the increase of casualties, and collateral damage caused by SCP-011-INT's effects. A reclassification to Keter is being considered.

The technologies employed on SCP-011-INT are being developed but are still far from completion, and classified under several distinct projects.
