Special Containment Procedures: When inactive, SCP-008-KO should be contained within an iron cage measuring 60 ×ばつ 30 ×ばつ 30 cm. Two times a day, 200g of pig kidneys and 150ml of water should be provided, along with two wooden blocks for dental care. The cage is to be monitored every 12 hours to check if the entity has lost interest in the wooden blocks. If so, the entity is considered activated and is to be contained as per the protocol when active.
For containment, personnel who have committed child abuse or D-Class who are stepmothers or stepfathers are required. Backup personnel should be prepared for when it is proven that the personnel are innocent. After an average of 5 to 12 hours after the personnel is placed, their kidney should be checked to see if the entity replaced it. If so, the personnel is to be contained according to the standard human SCP procedures. Affected individuals are subject to regular health screening.
After the death of the personnel, the collected inactive entity is to be re-contained in the iron cage until it becomes active again.
Description: SCP-008-KO-1 and SCP-008-KO-2 are a pair of male and female rats, approximately 7cm in body length and 15cm in total length, including the tail. Biologists hypothesize they are a type of house mouse (Mus musculus). When inactive, they behave similarly to typical mice, eating kidneys and frequently gnawing on wooden blocks to manage their growing teeth. They prefer the kidneys of [DATA EXPUNGED], but due to monetary and ethical issues, pig kidneys are provided as a substitute.
These entities become active when a potential victim approaches or about a week after their last active period. Whether tooth enlargement triggers activation or activation causes tooth enlargement is still debated, but observations of their behaviour suggest both might be true.
Once activated, the entities' teeth become significantly more developed. They attempt to escape by gnawing at their cages. Containment attempts using steel, reinforced glass, concrete, carbon fibre, [DATA EXPUNGED], and others have all failed.
When the entities successfully contact the victim, they burrow into the body and replace the kidneys. Their preferred victims are stepparents with a history of child abuse, followed by other child abusers. Six hours after activation, they indiscriminately attack stepparents without abuse history, and after █ hours, they attack indiscriminately.
After successful penetration, the affected subject initially experiences increased guilt and symptoms of depression. Over time, the guilt diminishes, and they become more confident and energetic. A complete lack of guilt is observed in the later stages. After about two to three months, [DATA EXPUNGED] is found in the subject's blood, and they die within three days, allowing for the recovery of the inactive entity.
These entities do not reproduce, but the discovery of a male and female pair suggests they may be a distinct species, prompting efforts to secure more specimens.
