Title: RAISA-9600
Subtitle: Kangchenjunga 1925, Photographic Expedition Mountaineering Incident
On a certain day, in a certain year, at a certain time, and in a certain place, you unexpectedly stumbled upon an electronic file that was supposed to be stored in the Site-12 Archive. Opening the forgotten archives, you discovered several long-dusted historical documents, fragmentarily recounting a mysterious tragedy that unfolded in a remote mountain a century ago.
A hundred years ago, although the veil of the anomalous world had long been formed and even the Foundation had already been established, many items that are now well-known to the anomalous community were still remain entirely unknown to the people of that era.
A hundred years later, time has time has flown, and much has changed. The Foundation, the victims, the researchers, and the soldiers of those days could not have foreseen whether humanity would ever uncover the truths of those events.
And for us, we can only gradually speculate, imagine, and attempt to piece together a complete story from the scattered fragments of records. We can only hope that our reconstruction is accurate—that it truly reflects an enigmatic, seemingly insignificant past.
Likewise, we have no way of knowing what the future holds. Will the Foundation, or any organization that follows, possess the ability to undertake expeditions like those of the past—succeed in explaining anomalies that remain incomprehensible today and exploring unknowns that are currently beyond humanity's reach?

...The second day of our climb to Kabur brought fine weather, a stark contrast to the gale that had battered us the previous night. While I was packing our belongings in the morning, Sirdar Nursang and several of the coolies suddenly rushed over, urging us to fetch the camera to capture what they called the Kangchenjunga demon. Mr. Tombazi sprang out of the tent like a gust of wind, and myself soon followed, running eastward to...
...Towards the direction they pointed, we beheld a dark, fur-covered figure moving about the mountainside in the snow valley below. One of the coolies claimed it was a metoh kangmiFootnote

...While we were visiting Duldi Monastery, a few Kazi caught up with us, informing us that five unfamiliar guests wished to meet us. With little choice, we returned to Yoksun earlier than planned...
...Among the guests, an elder adorned with colourful strips of cloth approached us, speaking agitatedly in a language that even Mr. Sherpa could not understand. Fortunately, a young man among them translated for us in Sikkimese. The elder, who they call BongthingFootnote

...At the time of writing this report, I remain in Darjeeling developing the films, while Mr. Tombazi has already departed to prepare the next stages. Mr. Sherpa has also returned to Dehradun. Once all matters are settled, Mr. Tombazi and I plan to meet in the middle of this month to bring the results of our expedition back to London.

1 June
boarding the special train to Parbbatipur, the first mission temporarily came to an end. Most of the soldiers had already sold horses and slept, as if no one worried about those soldiers left behind.
I glanced back out the window, only to see vast flashes of light flickering on the other side of the mountains, staining the distant darkness a bright red. I suspect that in the future, no one will ever remember ███ and these villagers.
But I wasn't particularly surprised, just filled with concern. How immense is this sunless city? My regiment and soldiers seem so insignificant here.
31 May
I originally planned to lead a team to search for them today but received the order to complete the mission just at the moment. What a coincidence. A week passed, and the general headquarters suddenly agreed to my request to withdraw the camp. What they said was that the soldiers who left with the research team will be responsible for protecting other departments that are taking over the follow-up work, so they asked us to return to the base first. Isn't all of this glaringly obvious enough?
Isn't the regiment a secret army? What are these Britishers trying to hide from me, the commander? If they were in danger, shouldn't we be the ones dealing with it? Unable can they be honest with us, so can't we be able to fulfil our duties, who else could neutralise the incomprehensible threat?
30 May
At midnight yesterday, those some researchers finally returned to the camp. They said everyone else had gone into the mountains to research, but I am no lamb. Their nervous expressions show that things are not that simple at all.
Could it be some accidents? My soldiers also follow them, and they however refused to tell me what was going on?
29 May
Normally there are some researchers to return to the camp in the evening time, but today they were nowhere to be seen. The patrolling soldiers did not see the research team as well. Aren't they doing research in the village? There is no way to get lost
28 May
Only don't know what Mirka means?
27 May
26 May
Today █████ asked me for some equipment and a platoon to the village for field research, which will take a few days. They're too scared to go by themselves
And also ask me to send some soldiers down the mountain to ask the local residents about the meaning of some difficult words in the mountaineering report. Even if it is written in English
25 May
Today, the researcher team only discovered that the previously unknown liquid turned out to be a bowl of highland barley liquor. The presence of excess oxalic acid and nepaline may be the cause of the intruder's sudden death. What a useful discovery
I can only guess that the enemy is probably a supernatural cult. Did they destroy these photos because they knew that their conspiracy was captured in these photos, so they wanted to get rid of the evidence, or some other motive? I must have overlooked some details.
24 May
This afternoon, the assist from general headquarters finally arrived at ███. But obviously it was the armed forces what I had asked for, not a group of fragile researchers. I think the soldiers were also disappointed by the news.
Their leader, █████, said that they were from a secret British foundation belonging to His Majesty the Emperor. Sure enough, we are not the only organisation working in the dark. They will be responsible for researching the items we find and returning them back to England.
The funny thing is that this is the regiment's first mission, when we first met he actually said long time no see. Can these people really help us? Still hope that their research can help find the enemies, although.
23 May
This morning, we checked the negatives developed yesterday. The results were disappointing, as no pictures of the village could be found on any rolls of film.
The roll that was soaked in the unknown liquid last night showed quite strange. Most of the images are normal, except for a few negatives with large white grain stains. These negatives seem to show a dark figure in a snow-capped mountain valley.
The stains always cover the same part of successive images, as if they are preventing us from seeing something. Is this an abnormal power?
How did those people do it? Why suddenly died? More importantly, why risked their lives just to ruin a few negatives?
I don’t really think the regiment should stay here for any longer, but the headquarters still hasn’t responded to the request to withdraw the camp. Resignedly, I can only send more patrols and pray that the enemies won't attack us at this time.
22 May
Today, we took the negatives
A series of gunshots woke up the whole camp. There's no peace tonight.
The one who fired the shots was a soldier on guard. He said there were five people trying to break into the camp area, and four of them were shot dead.
I immediately ordered everyone to search the camp area, and finally found the inexplicably dead intruder in the tent where the negatives were developed. It was an old woman dressed as a traditional shaman.
She only took one of the roll films that was being developed and threw it into the unknown liquid she had brought with her. The soldier took it out as soon as he discovered it. Hope that the image won't be damaged the next day.
Now the whole thing is getting even more bizarre. When will the general headquarters' reinforcements actually arrive?
21 May
As I expected, a large number of photographic plates, negatives, gelatin silver plates and other photographic equipment were found in the depths of the ruins today. They are probably also the climbers' belongings.
If the negative film had captured the scene of the village before the incident, perhaps clues can be found.
20 May
Today, the soldiers found two more bodies in a collapsed house, as well as an undelivered mountaineering report paper that appears to have been brought by one of the British.
My intuition tells me this is a very important discovery. I will lead a team to investigate that house in person tomorrow morning.
19 May
A huge hole was dug in the wooden roof. Those people brutally tore the child hiding in the attic into pieces.
Should I give up searching for survivors.
18 May
There has been a thick fog in the village for the past two days, not advisable to continue the search. Some soldiers held a simple funeral for those dead, while I decided to use these days to log.
I think this must be a large-scale terrorist attack planned carefully by someone, but who are the antagonists? Why to do so? Why commit in such a place? These doubts remain unclear.
Although we have known already that our mission is to deal with ambiguous threats, not just simply resolve conflicts. I didn't expect the regiment to face an enemy that capable of causing mass deaths from the very beginning. The regiment I lead would definitely not be able to fight against it alone.
The good news is that the general headquarters has just informed me that someone will be here soon to assist. We just need to continue the investigation and eliminate the source of the threat.
16 May
Today we finally move all the corpses to the open. Each body seems to have been torn to pieces with unimaginable powerful force.
Many bodies were decomposed, swollen and their faces were severely damaged for unknown reasons. There were at least 130 corpses, including body parts and fragments.
15 May
Still only corpses were found all day today, even police officers died at the entrance of the police station. It seems like they had still struggled to resist the enemy until the last minute.
Dozens of citizens were killed inside the cell, but the sergeant was not found. Hope he's got away.
14 May
Deaths were everywhere. Many stalls in the market in the centre of the village were crushed by corpses. It was chaos. The victims had no time to escape when the massacre occurred.
However, most of the dead were outside or at the door, we might still be able to find survivors inside?
13 May
I have led a team to the village to learn the situation in the last two days.
The village is quiet, but filled with the smell of blood and corpses. If no survivor or murderer is found, we may have to divert the energy on investigation.
How could such a misery occur on the Bharat's soil, it is almost impossible to find a complete remains. I have never seen such a tragic death. I dare say that there is no way for an ordinary person to do so.
11 May
The regiment reached ███ this evening, camp bside the road.
The setting sun shines on Mt Kanchenjunga, painting the forest an ominous blood red.
हरि ओम, we seem to be too late
10 May
The solid training of the corps was finally put into effect. If the first official mission order had not been issued today, I would have thought that the general headquarters had forgotten the existence of this secret regiment.
This operation was carried out in a village in Darjeeling, it was stated that a telegram was received from the local sergeant.
I led the regiment to depart from the base. Through [REDACTED], it would take a day to arrive.
