Thanks to W Asriel W Asriel , Dr Prism Dr Prism , and Nederbird Nederbird for proofreading and corrections (and introducing me to this skip in the first place, for Nederbird Nederbird )
I wasn't that interested in Sarkics because I kind of got the impression they were all biological horror all the time. But this showed me they could be more than that (I like religious scriptures and grand rituals, I guess). I think I'll read more Sarkic skips in the future. Probably in English, though, so I don't have to have a crisis over my language abilities every time I read one (dead cultists getting up and walking, man…).
Also, Father Blackboxes is an asshole.

Not sure if this can get back to the original author for intent as I can't speak read Chinese, but is there any particular reason that atheists and all denominations are able participate in the ritual? It's also a bit weird for a Catholic priest to use to phrase "our denomination". They'd probably use "our congregation" in reference to just their local members or "our Church" capitalized if referring to the Catholic Church as a whole.
Apologies if I'm missing some cultural differences.
