Additional Information

  • Item Number 424 = 966 - (440 + 102) = 966 - (44 ×ばつ 10 + 102)
    • 966 is the year when Poland gained recognition as a country followed by Christianization.
    • 44 comes from Dziady written by Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz, as quoted: "The Son of a foreign mother, in his blood old heroes And his name will be forty and four" (Z matki obcej: krew jego dawne bohatery, a imię jego będzie czterdzieści i cztery).
    • 102 is seen as a number of safety and peace in Polish culture[1 ], attributed to "Rudy 102", a tank featured in a drama Four Tank-Men and a Dog .
  • SCP-ZH-424, the plant: There is no governmental designation of national flowers for Poland, but red poppies are mainly suggested by civilians. No national trees are designated by Poland government either, yet oaks and alders were suggested[2 ]. Pines are also readily seen in Poland as well.

  • NOTE: Additional inscriptions are intentionally remained bilingual.
  • War is meaningless in the spiritual world in this Object. The spectral entities cannot be harmed by brutal forces, and they usually are moral enough not to harm others. Foreign weapons would also malfunction due to jamming by ambient spectral matter.
  • First additional inscription: They will get spectral matter when looking at their Sun, but will rapidly disintegrate when looking at our Sun.
    • They also see our world as a terrarium.
    • They also know the spectral entities from the Terrarium cannot engage in Sungazing.
  • Second additional inscription: They want us to join in the age of Solarpunk as well, but it takes the political resolve of those in power to do away with harmful habits. At least, it takes a morality beyond oppression and exploitation, apart from technology alone. Should the people in power cannot find their conscience, then we would need a revolution to upthrow the system of power, as well as an alternative system robust enough agsinst regression.

SCP-ZH-424 Timeline

  • 1990: In "Parting Ceremony" of Prof. Banaszek, Personnel in PL Branch gave the Agents from ZH Branch some red poppy seeds, to be planted in ZH Branch.
  • 1994年10月12日: Red poppies start to mutate.
  • 1997年7月30日: The plants (SCP-ZH-424 afterwards) are listed as anomalous items.
  • 2001年6月9日: As Site-ZH-11 relocates, SCP-ZH-424 Precursor remains in place.
  • 2006/5: SCP-ZH-424 Precursor starts to mutate again.
  • 2006/11: SCP-ZH-424 Precursor morphology fixed.
  • 2013年11月11日: SCP-ZH-424-A Portal opened.
  • 2013年11月22日: SCP-ZH-424 officially registered. Expedition begins.
  • 2014年1月1日: SCP-ZH-424 confirmed to be related to spectral entities, and initial Protocol against spectral entities is formed.
  • 2014年3月1日: Initial disguise gained. Expedition Team no longer subject to Banishment Event.
  • 2017年12月1日: SCP-ZH-424-B Language Decryption begins.

  • 2024年5月1日: Admin. Dept. of Site-ZH-11 allows group visits to SCP-ZH-424-A.
  • 2025年1月1日: Foundation starts technological exchange with SCP-ZH-424-B community.
  • 2025年2月1日: Appearance of second additional inscription.
  • 2025年6月1日: Completetion and commission of SCP-ZH-424 Astral Pillar Electricity Distribution System, supplying extra electricity for Site-ZH-11 and its two major Observationsl Posts.
  • 2031/12: The most recent time in the File of SCP-ZH-424.

I have to be honest; while this is really interesting, and there's some cool worldbuilding, the dry tone of the piece is just too much. This is such a drag to read through, because the terminology is just a lot and the payoff is overall very little. It feels like a very standard story, but greatly overbuilt without really offering that much substance.

All in all, yeah, sorry. Not a fan. -1
