Crumpled

Crumpled is a common status effect found in the Paper Mario series and Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam . The crumpled status effect prevents Mario or enemies from attacking or defending, and causes affected characters to take double damage from attacks.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star[edit ]
The crumpled status condition first appears in Paper Mario: Sticker Star . POW Blocks may inflict the crumpled status condition on enemies when used. Enemies such as Pokeys, Tower Power Pokey, and Bowser are able to inflict the crumpled status condition on Mario. In turn, if a spiked enemy is crumpled, Mario can stomp on the crumpled enemy without the need of an Iron Jump or Super Boot sticker.
Paper Mario: Color Splash[edit ]
The crumpled status effect returns yet again in Paper Mario: Color Splash , retaining its effects from its previous appearances. The crumpled status condition can affect Mario, enemies, and the Sunset Express conductor during the battle with Larry. POW Blocks have a chance of inflicting the status condition on enemies when used. Certain Enemy Card attacks can inflict a variant of Blinded that gives enemies a chance to miss their turn and causes them to become crumpled if jumped on.
Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam[edit ]
The crumpled status reprises its role in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, where it only affects the paper characters in the game. It functions the same way as in Paper Mario: Sticker Star.
