Saros Trophy Guide
The Sun Is Forever
You need to acquire all the trophies below to receive the Platinum.
Let Go
Nightmare Strands
There's one Nightmare Stranw in all of the biomes, except for the Yellow Shore. It can be easy to miss them as you're dashing through these regions, but thankfully, they do appear at specific times in those biomes and require you to unlock Permanent Equipment to access them.
Here's where you can find every Nightmare Strand while playing Saros.
| All Nightmare Strand Locations in Saros | |
|---|---|
| Location | Nightmare Strand Entrance |
| You can find the Nightmare Strand in the Shattered Rise shortly after you activate the Eclipse, after you go beyond the Overlord's entrance. This location has a Grapple drone in front of it, requiring you to unlock this ability before you can reach it. | |
| The Nightmare Strand in the Ancient Depths is above the entrance, where you can find the Overlord, the Bastion. However, you can only access it during the Eclipse, and you need the Eclipse Tether to reach the top section. | |
| You can find the Shattered Descent Nightmare Strand right before fighting this region's Overlord, the Rhabdom. | |
| You can find this Nightmare Strand at the halfway point of the Blighted Marsh. You need to trigger the Eclipse either at the beginning or in the middle section. When you reach the middle, the Nightmare Strand is on the side. | |
| You can find this Nightmare Strand in the Desecrated Fortress at the halfway point of the biome. It's at the large gap where you unlock the Eclipse Thread ability, and when you complete the first thread, take a left, and it will be on the side, next to the Yellow Shield wall. | |
| You can find this Nightmare Strand close to the end of the Acolyte's Haven biome, before you reach the Beacon and return to fight against this area's Overlord, the Shepherd. | |
| You can find this Nightmare Strand on the right side of the Cathedral, either after you've tipped over to be on the ceiling or while you're still on the ground. | |
Upon finding them all and completing them once, you'll receive the Nightmare Strand Trophy!
Architect
Defeat the Architech, the boss of the Desecrated Fortress biome.
Break the Cycle
Use your Shield to protect yourself from 2,021 projectiles, fueling your Power in a single playthrough.
Bullet Paradise
Defeat 1,995 enemies across all of your runs in a single playthrough.
Catch and Release
Deflect enough projectiles to power three Power bars, and then use your Power Weapon to defeat enemies.
Eclipse’s Gift
Find and acquire 70 Halcyon in a single playthrough. You can find Halcyon in several ways as you're playing Saros. It appears as a pure white-and-purple orb floating in the air, waiting for you to approach and pick it up. When you acquire a Halcyon, it is immediately stored. Even if you are defeated and sent back to the Passage, you never lose it, ensuring you can't drop them.
Fatal Triptych
Start three runs and die in them.
Full Arsenal
Find and unlock every weapon and Power Weapon, using them on 25 different hostiles and eliminating them. These unlock through naturally progressing the main story. The real trick is obtaining a weapon during a run and using it 25 different times. You can keep track of what weapons you’ve unlocked by viewing your Databank.
King
Confront and defeat the King at the end of the Yellow Shore biome.
Priestess
Confront the Priestess at the end of the Cathedral biome.
Prophet
Confront and defeat the Prophet at the end of the Shattered Rise biome.
Reinforced Carapace
Acquire 20 Integrity Augments from the Armor Matrix. These are available throughout the map, enabled through your natural progression and by finding partially hidden areas, and using Permanent Equipment you unlock through the story.
Shepherd
Confront and defeat the Shepherd at the end of the Acolyte’s Haven biome.
Shattered Glass
Interact with the Banyan Tree every time it appears in the main area.
The first Banyan Tree becomes available after you complete the second area, The Ancient Depths.
The second Banyan Tree becomes available after defeating Legion and clearing the Blighted Swamp.
The third Banyan Tree becomes available after you encounter the Overlord from the Acolyte's Haven.
The fourth Banyan Tree interaction becomes available during the post-game, after you return from Nitya's Lab at the Cathedral.
Soltari R&D
Pick up a weapon enough times that you equip and use it with every variant and trait it can have in Saros.
Untouchable
Work your way through a set area, never taking any form of damage.
Modifiers are your best way to get an advantage when completing this achievement. Although it might seem that you only want to get the positive ones, the Protections, having specific Trials one active allows you to have more Protections, which should make it much easier. These are the ones we recommend from both the Protections and Trials trees before you head out.
- Protections
- Shield Power Enhancement: Shield does not consume Power while active.
- Damage Enhancement III: Increase damage dealt to hostiles.
- Lucenite Enrichment III: Proficiency Increases require far less Lucenite
- Nova Dash: Nova Projectiles and beams can be Dashed through.
- Power Accelerator I: Increases Power accumulation when absorbing projectiles with the Shield
- Artifact Enhancement: Increase the tier of all Artifacts
- Trials
- Corruption Enhancement III: Increase Corruption accumulation from Corrupted projectiles.
- Growth Incapacitor I: Second Chance is deactivated
- Lucenite Devaluation II: Further reduces Lucenite retained upon returning to Passage
- Halcyon Removal: While active, no Halcyon pickups will appear
- Armor Impairment III: Increases all incoming damage to integrity even more
- Artifact Destruction: Upon reaching a new biome, a random Artifact is destroyed
These should provide you with a good balance of positives and negatives. The negatives mostly have to deal with damage, like the Corruption Enhancement and Armor Impairment. Essentially, if you get hit once, you're better off returning to the Passage immediately and trying again. There's no point in advancing further. This is also why we want the Growth Incapacitor to remove the Second Chance ability and the Halcyon Removal one, as you won't be going out of your way to hunt these down.
After you have that figured out with Primary, the next step is to choose the biome.
When it comes to picking out a biome, we recommend the first area: the Shattered Rise. It's the first area, with the most straightforward creatures you can find in Saros. You won't find too many dangerous ones, like the Devastators, Hollowers, Excubitor, Wardens, Harbinger, or Confessors, to name a few. You're primarily fighting against Guardians, Custodians, Flexion, and the occasional Sunflayers and Osteomaws.
Plus, the main goal is for you to reach the Overlord as fast as possible. You can start the fight against this region's Overlord, the Prophet, immediately at the entrance after activating the Eclipse. You don't have to keep fighting through the waves of enemies, and instead jump straight into the fight against this boss. From there, it's all about dodging every attack that the Overlord can do, and dashing through the Corrupted orbs to make sure you don't absorb them. You fail the trophy if you take any amount of Corrupted damage, even if it only eats your maximum health.
Upon defeating the Prophet, proceed through the final boss room and make your way to the entrance of the Ancient Depths. When you arrive at the teleporter that takes you back to the Passage, you'll receive the Trophy.
War Within
Absorb or get hit by Yellow projectiles during an Eclipse to fill up your Corruption bar, and then survive.
All Shall Bow
Use the Crossbow weapon to defeat three hostiles at the same time during an encounter. You can do this with the Impactor Crossbow, which unlocks when you reach the Blighted Marsh.
Angle of Attack
Find the Nova Lance with the Ricochet trait, and use it on a foe or a wall, hitting another enemy after it bounces.
Approach Vector
While in the air, attack an enemy with a melee attack to remove their red shield.
Atrophy
Fire the Dispiritor Power Weapon during an encounter, and use it to wipe out five enemies at the same time. You’ll want to wait for smaller foes like the Custodian and Vessel to cluster together, and to make sure you have a full Power Meter to unleash this attack.
Bastion
Confront the Bastion at the end of the Ancient Depths biome.
Broadside
Use the Prominence Power Weapon, and use it on a cluster of enemies to defeat them all. The Prominence Power Weapon is a large AoE attack, and you can wait for clusters of smaller foes, like the Vessels or Custodians, to clump together before you hit them.
Carcosan Cartographer
Work your way through 33 expeditions with Carcosan Modifiers turned on. You can do this with any Carcosan Modifier.
Carcosan Conqueror
Find 10 Alpha encounters during your runs, surviving these battles and defeating all enemies.
Come Back Stronger
Fall for the first time during the main playthrough.
Countermand
Use your Parry attack to stagger two hostiles when they fire red projectiles at you. You unlock the Parry when you're halfway through the Blighted Marsh.
A good way to do this is to wait until a large Red orb heads to you, and you can aim at it at a pair of targets. You might be able to quickly get this when fighting against Custodians, Guardians, Flexions, or Vessels. The Red orb does not need to come from the same target, and you can use attacks from larger foes to hit the smaller ones.
Enforcer
Use your Handcannon on seven different enemies, switching between them to land every hit. The Handcannon is the first weapon you unlock in Saros.
A good way for this to land quickly is to use the Ricochet Handcannon, which bounces between enemies during a better. It’s a good way to complete this trophy without having to quickly swap between targets in a fight.
Fall From Grace
You’ll want to land a Parry attack against an enemy, waiting until they throw a Red orb at you, and knocking the attack back into them. You’ll want to wait until they’re floating over a pit to land this attack, causing them to fall down. We have a thorough breakdown of how you can earn this Trophy.
Into Yellow
Work your way through the main story.
Legion
Confront Legion at the end of the Blighted Marsh biome.
Never Enough
Find and acquire 20 Halcyon pickups while in the Yellow Shore biome.
Never Let Go
Work your way through the main story.
OverDriven
With the OverDrive power, defeat 30 hostiles before completing a run. The Overdrive ability becomes available before you reach the Blighted Marsh, and you're at the end of the Shattered Descent.
What can make this difficult is the temptation to save your OverDrive for larger foes, like the Alphas. When focusing on this challenge, try to use it on clusters of smaller foes. It also helps to pick up Artifacts that make it easier to power up your OverDrive ability.
Radiance
Equip the Illumine and use it to defeat three enemies at the same time. You unlock this Power Weapon in one of the final areas, the Cathedral. A good way to do this is to have one with the Altered Wave Length, Sustained Portal Beam, or the Chaining Arc traits.
Relentless
Use any of the Rifles to hit 50 foes back-to-back. You unlock Rifles halfway through the first area, the Shattered Rise.
A good one to rely on would be the Smart Rifle, as it can automatically hit a target, ensuring you don’t miss a shot. You'll want to wait until multiple enemies have arrived in the arena, and you can fire at them all without missing a shot.
Rhabdom
Confront and defeat Rhabdom at the end of the Shattered Descent biome.
Second Chance
Unlock the Second Chance ability and use it during a run. You can unlock it before completing your first run against the Prophet. It appears in the Armor Matrix tree, and you need to have collected at least one Halcyon to get it.
Spread the Cost
Use a Shotgun weapon to hit enemies with the full blast, not wasting a pellet. You unlock Shotguns when you reach the Blighted Marsh.
A good way to do this is by being as close to enemies as possible to hit them with these attacks. We recommend using the Stalwart Shotgun or the Annihilator Shotgun. You'll want to try using it on some of the hefty, larger foes, like the Hollower, Devastator, Excubitor, Warden, or Harbinger, to name a few.
Strange Is The Night
Wait for the Banyan Tree to appear in the main area, and go through it.
The Blazing Throne
Work your way through the main story.
Vicious Circle
Unlock the Chakram weapon and use it to hit and damage four enemies within two seconds of all attacks. You can quickly do this with the Reaping Chakram, which appears in the Acolyte's Haven, or the Ripsaw Chakram, which can cut into multiple enemies at the same time.
Vincible
Complete a run without using a Shield once. When it comes to surviving without a shield, the best way to do this is to rely on your Dodge and wait until you unlock your Parry. These are two other defensive tools you can unlock as you complete the game. After you have them both, return to the starting area in Saros, the Shattered Rise, and attempt to complete it here, as it’s the easiest area.
It's important to note that the Trophy is about never using your shield, not that you can't take damage. This means you can still heal as much as you want. We recommend unlocking as many Restoration Upgrades and Additional Restoration skills from the Armor Matrix as you can.
You may also want to try tweaking the Carcosan Modifiers, such as the Protections section. Here, you can provide yourself with helpful boons to make the game easier, like increasing how much damage you deal to hostiles. If you want to add more Protections, you'll need to add a few Trials, which increase the difficulty. You don't want to add too many, or you'll feel the instinct to use your shield!
