Every Weapon and Power Weapon Explained

Updated:

Weapons and Power Weapons are your primary tools to use against the horde of enemies you'll fight playing Saros. Each Weapon and Power Weapon is unique, providing a unique playstyle to how you battle. You'll pick them up and acquire more throughout your playthrough, randomly generated in containers. This page is a full breakdown of every Weapon and Power you can use while playing Saros, and how they work.

All Weapons in Saros

A Weapon is the primary attack that you'll use during a battle. Each comes with ammunition, an alternative-fire option, and a range of traits randomly assigned to a weapon when you pick it up. As you level up your Proficiency, a Weapon receives more traits, capable of holding up to five at a time.

These are all of the Weapons you can unlock.

Eruptor Handcannon

The Eruptor Handcannon is the first weapon you receive in Saros. When you use the trigger, it fires off a concentrated burst, releasing three shots at your target. These shots have a small recoil to them, but you should be able to reliably focus on a foe before moving to the next one.

The alternative fire is called Charge Burst, where you hold down the trigger and load up as many rounds as you want into your current chamber. You can only load the bullets you still have left on the weapon, and it can't go over. When you're done and release, all the bullets fly out, but expect a heavy recoil that likely has you moving your aim upwards, potentially missing your target. You can find the Eruptor Handcannon with Recoil Compensation, Weakpoint Damage, and Reload Speed stats.

These are the traits you can get with the Eruptor Handcannon.

  • Explosive Rounds: Projectiles explode, dealing Stagger damage and hitting nearby hostiles
  • Favored Target: Consecutive hits on the same target deal extra damage, increasing with each hit
  • Headhunter: Consecutive Weakpoint hits deal extra damage, increasing with each hit
  • Weakpoint Feeder: Killing a hostile by hitting its Weakpoint generates Power

Ricochet Handcannon

The Ricochet Handcannon is a variant on the Eruptor, where the bullet bounces off from a surface or a target after you hit it. The bounces increase the potential of hitting a target you're facing off against in an area, making it ideal for fights against multiple enemies or a boss that you can hit in multiple locations.

The alternative fire option for this Handcannon is Saturation Free, where you have no fire limit. You can fire the weapon as many times as you can hit the trigger, providing you with an option to focus on a single target, and not have to worry about waiting for the weapon to recenter. You can get Ricochet Handcannons with different Reload Speed, Recoil Compensation, and Weakpoint Damage stats.

These are the traits you can get on the Ricochet Handcannon

  • Bouncing Rounds: Projectiles ricochet off terrain
  • Piercing Shot: Projectiles travel through hostiles
  • Quick Chamber: Hitting a hostile's Weakpoint instantly reloads one round
  • Smooth Action: Perfect Reload boosts the Weakpoint damage of the next shot
  • Trickster: Projectiles deal increasing damage with each pierce, bounce, or Weakpoint hit
  • Power Generator: Weapon damage generates extra Power

Marksman Handcannon

The Marksman Handcannon is similar to the Eruptor Handcannon, where the standard attack for this weapon releases a three-shot burst. The difference is that there's no auto hit capability, and you'll precisely aim these shots for them to land the most damage.

The alternative fire is called Auto Mark, and allows you to charge a powerful shot against an enemy. When you land a hit with this attack, the standard attack now uses the auto hit function, allowing you to instantly hit a target, but only the one you shot at with the Auto Mark. You can find the Marksman Handcannon with different Reload Speed, Recoil Compensation, and Weakpoint Damage stats.

These are the traits you can get with the Marksman Handcannon.

  • Piercing Shot: Projectiles travel through hostiles
  • Quick Chamber: Hitting a hostile's Weakpoint instantly reloads one round
  • Bottom Heavy: When the clip is half-empty, it deals increased damage
  • Weakpoint Feeder: Killing a hostile by hitting its Weakpoint generates power

Smart Rifle

The Smart Rifle automatically highlights a target within your view, allowing you to press the trigger to hit them with every shot until the target is down or you aim at a new target. It takes the guesswork out of trying to aim your shot.

The alternative fire is Split Smart Rounds, where the shots travel a shot distance before breaking up into three homing projectiles against a target. It creates a burst fire on the weapon, eating through your clip size faster, and dealing more damage to a single target. You'll find Smart Rifles with different Clip Size, Auto-Target Radius, and Damage Accumulation stats.

These are the traits you can get with a Smart Rifle.

  • Spectral Round: Each shot fires an extra homing projectile that phases through the terrain.
  • Extra Round: Fires two additional projectiles
  • Absorb Load: Absorbing projectiles with the shield instantly triggers a Perfect Reload.

Tactical Rifle

The Tactical Rifle is a quick-fire rifle with auto hit module that instantly highlights the nearest enemy for you, allowing you to fire on the foe, even if you don't quite see them. It makes shooting and hitting around corners and terrain much easier and effective. The rate of fire is steady while you're holding down the trigger.

When you use the Tactical Rifle's alternative fire, the Rising Pitch, the first handful of shots are slow. However, as you continue to hold, the bullets go faster, until you're firing at a quicker rate than the standard mode. The longer you hold the trigger, the faster it goes, but if you let go, you have to start over. You can get Tactical Rifles with different Clip Size, Auto-Target Radius, and Damage Accumulation stats.

These are the traits you can get on a Tactical Rifle.

  • Super Load: Perfect Reload boosts the damage of the next trigger pull
  • Spectral Round: Each shot fires an extra homing projectile that phases through the terrain
  • Power Generator: Weapon damage generates Power

Onslaught Rifle

The Onslaught Rifle is a heavier version of the rifle, allowing you to land precise attacks against a foe. It's similar to the Smart Rifle's attack speed, but you'll have to aim these attacks against a target.

The alternative fire is Heavy Rounds. When activated, you'll fire out multiple rounds in a single shot, but the attack speed goes down. If you're looking to hit a single target harder and more consistently, this might be the option to go with. You'll be able to find versions of the Onslaught Rifle that have varying Spread Control, Clip Size, and Damage Accumulation stats.

These are the traits you can get for the Onslaught Rifle.

  • Piercing Rounds: Projectiles travel through hostiles
  • Cover Fire: Projectiles deal increased Stagger damage
  • Power Generator: Weapon damage generates extra Power
  • Overload: Perfect Reload grants bonus rounds

Horde Shotgun

The Horde Shotgun provides a slightly longer range compared to other Shotguns in Saros with its standard attack, but with a large spread. You can expect to hit a target from afar, and the closer you get, the more pellets you can expect to land into them to deal more damage.

The alternative fire for this weapon is the Vertical Spread, where it switches the reticle from horizontal to vertical. Not only does it change to vertical, but the spread becomes more concentrated, ideal for close-range fighting against a specific target. You can find Horde Shotguns with different Relaod Speed, Pellet Count, and Stagger amount stats.

These are the traits you can get on a Horde Shotgun.

  • Searing Round: Hostiles take damage over time after being hit
  • Shot Load: If all pellets hit, reloads one round
  • Reflected Stagger: Absorbing or Parrying projectiles increases the Stagger damage of the next shot
  • Payback: After taking damage, increases the damage of the next shot in proportion to the damage received

Stalwart Shotgun

The Stalwart Shotgun is a heavily concentrated, short-range weapon that excels at dealing a lot of damage to enemies close to you. It's a weapon you want to use your dash to close the distance, and decimate a single target with a large attack. Although capable of hitting something at medium and large range, don't expect a lot of damage.

The alternative fire option for the Stalwart Shotgun is called the Pellet Wall. With it, you'll launch a series of pellets into the air, and they'll remain there, and you take the next shot. While the pellets are there, you can reaim and adjust yourself, redirecting their direction depending on where you want to hit, allowing you to customize where they fire. These go further and deal more damage at longer distances than the standard attack. You can find a Stalwart Shotgun with different Pellet Count, Reload Speeds, and Stagger Amount stats.

These are the traits you can get with the Stalwart Shotgun.

  • Searing Rounds: Hostiles take damage over time after being hit
  • Dash Load: Dashing partially reloads the clip
  • Reflected Stagger: Absorbing or Parrying projectiles increases the Stagger damage of the next shot
  • Payback: After taking damage, increases the damage of the next shot in proportion to the damage received.
  • Juggernaut: After dealing damage, briefly increases damage dealt and reduces damage received.

Annihilator Shotgun

The Annihilator Shotgun releases a focused spray of pellets, with a more circular reticle that you fire from. It's great close range, and decent at medium range, but lacks reliable long-range damage. It can hit, every so often, but not enough for it to be a go-to choice in larger arenas.

You can make up for the lack of long-range damage with the alternative fire choice, the Pellet Grenade. The weapon becomes a grenade launcher that you can fire out, hitting multiple targets in a small cluster. Excellent for taking out small groups of enemies, or one large Alpha, but it might prove lacking against a boss, compared to other weapon choices. You can get an Annihilator Shotgun with different Stagger Amount, Pellet Count, and Reload Speed stats.

These are the traits you can get on an Annihilator Shotgun.

  • Bombardier: When firing, deals extra damage to hostiles in close proximity
  • Shot Load: If all pellets hit, reloads one round
  • Steal Shot: Absorbing projectiles with the shield adds additional pellets to the next shot

Repeater Crossbow

The Repeater Crossbow is a weapon that you charge up, and at full charge, it automatically releases all of its shots. These shots fire out where you're aiming your reticle, damaging all targets in its path. You can release the charge early before its full, but it releases fewer bolts.

You can use the alternative fire, the Payload, to fire out a single bolt that spreads out and becomes multiple projectiles when it hits a target or a wall. These projectiles seek out the nearest hostile from wherever it landed. You can get a Reapater Crossbow with different Charge Speed, Bolt Velocity, and Payload Volume stats.

These are the traits that you can get for the Repeater Crossbow.

  • Razor Bolt: Hostiles take damage over time after being hit
  • Additional Shot: Fires more bolts in each volley
  • Reflected Charge: Absorbing Projectiles with the shield grants an additional bolt to the next shot
  • Power Generator: Weapon damage generates extra Power

Impactor Crossbow

The Impactor Crossbow fires out a concentrated shot forward at an enemy, requiring you to charge it up for a short time to deal more damage. The longer you hold the charge, the more damage it does to foes in front of you.

The alternative fire for this weapon is the Javelin, which also requires you to charge it up, but fires a single shot at an enemy. When it lands against an enemy, it splits up into multiple homing projectiles, but only if you hit an enemy's weapon spot with the attack. You'll want to carefully aim this shot to do the most damage, and always go for an enemy's Weakpoint to do the most damage. You'll be able to find versions of the Impactor Crossbow with varying Bolt Velocity, Weakpoint Damage, and Charge Speed stats.

Here are some of the traits you can get with the Impactor Crossbow.

  • Razor Bolt: Hostiles take damage over time after being hit
  • Additional Shot: Fires more bolts in each volley
  • Auto Bolts: Killing a hostile with a melee strike triggers temporary full auto-fire and accelerated charge rate.

Bifurcator Crossbow

The Bifurcator Crossbow works where you hold down the charge and wait for it to get full. However, unlike the Repeater, it only fires when you release it. The blast starts like a concentrated series of bolts, before breaking off and becoming multiple, spreading out mid-fire and attacking multiple hostiles along the way.

The alternative fire is called Radial Burst, where you hold down the charge and fire out a single bolt. When the bolt lands, it breaks off into multiple projectiles, seeking out nearby enemies to land on and damage. It's similar to the Repeater Crossbow, and it produces more projectiles the longer you hold down the charge. You can find a Bifurcator Crossbow with different Charge Strength, Payload Volume, and Charge Speed stats.

These are the traits you can get with the Bifurcator Crossbow.

  • Seeking Bolt: Bolts gain more aggressive homing
  • Accelerated Split: Bolts split earlier
  • Auto Bolts: Killing a hostile with a melee strike triggers temporary full auto-fire and accelerated charge rate
  • Power Corruption: Weapon damage generates extra Power, which scales with the amount of Corruption
  • Perfect Release: If released within the time window, projectile gains full charge

Ripsaw Chakram

The Ripsaw Chakram is a deadly weapon, with your primary attack firing out a pair of discs, embedding themselves if they land into a target. They remain there until you use the alternative fire weapon, called Tormented Retract, where you hold this button down and they rev up, dealing damage to the target. Tormented Retract continues this extra damage until you let go of the button, and they return to you.

You'll want to do this to focus on a single or multiple targets, swapping with these discs. You'll need to rely on your alternative fire button to bring these discs back, and make sure they've hit a target to deal the most damage. You can find Ripsaw Chakrams with different Disc Velocity, Embed Damage, and Disc Quantity stats.

These are the traits you can get with the Ripsaw Chakram.

  • Swift Chakram: Discs move very quickly
  • Melee Launch: Melee strikes can launch embedded discs, dealing additional damage
  • Split On Hit: After hitting a hostile, another disc splits off and flies towards a nearby target
  • Razor Edge: Hostiles hit by discs take damage over time for a short duration
  • Parry Follow: On a successful Parry, all available discs will be launched at once
  • Chakram Blast: All discs launch at once

Myriad Chakram

The Myriad Chakram fires out various remote-controlled discs that land and hit a target. These discs can remain like this for some time, but if you're close to the target, the discs return to you, allowing you to fire them again. These act as your reload, and there's no Perfect Reload option. You'll find that the Myriad Chakram can have different Disc Quantity, Weakpoint Damage, and Disc Velocity stats.

The alternative fire for this weapon recalls any discs you sent out and brings them back to you. However, they automatically do this if you land a hit against a target's Weakpoint. Otherwise, you'll need to use the alternative fire button to recharge the Myriad Chakram.

These are the traits you can get on the Myriad Chakram.

  • Swift Chakram: Discs move very quickly
  • Reaping Shots: Each consecutive hit returns more quickly
  • Bouncing Chakram: Discs ricochet between targets
  • Razor Edge: Hostiles hit by discs take damage over time for a short duration.

Reaping Chakram

Unlike the other Chakrams, the Reaping Chakram has a single disc you can control. All of your attacks go into this disc, enabling you to concentrate your damage into a single target rather than spreading it out other goes.

When the disc lands, you'll have to use the alternative fire button to bring it back toward you, which is called the Agony Harvest. It orbits around you or returns to the Chakram, and the damage you deal is increased with every successive hit against enemies. Gradually, the disc does get larger as you consistently fight and use it. You can get a Reaping Chakram with a different Harvest Volume, Disc Velocity, and Disc Size.

These are the traits you can get on the Reaping Chakram.

  • Refined Harvester: Increases the stack limit of Agony Harvest
  • Reaping Orbit: When the orbiting disc hits a hostile, the orbit speed increases
  • Reaping Shots: Each consecutive hit returns more quickly
  • Bouncing Chakram: Discs ricochet between hostiles
  • Accelerated Shield Orbit: The disc's orbit speed is increased while the shield is active
  • Piercing Chakram: The disc travels through hostiles, hitting multiple targets
  • Razor Edge: Hostiles hit by discs take damage over time for a short duration

All Power Weapons in Saros

The Power Weapons you unlock in Saros are a powerful tool capable of tipping the tide of a fight in your favor. Unlike your Weapon, these weapons require Power, which you can charge by absorbing the blue projectiles using your Shield. Alternatively, there are some Artifacts you can pick up that allow you to gain Power in other ways, such as shooting at enemies, taking damage, or defeating them.

These are all the Power Weapons you can unlock.

Prominence

Prominence is the first Power Weapon you unlock early in Saros. When you use it, it fires a large explosive at a chosen target, damaging it and others if they're close enough. However, it's significantly smaller than your Overdrive attack, but these two are similar to each other.

As you upgrade how much Power you hold, expect to earn multiple charges of this weapon, being able to fire them back-to-back during encounters. Although the primary function of Prominence remains the same, the traits truly make it unique, capable of leaving small black holes to damage foes over time, or even clear away enemy projectiles in the line you fire it. You'll find different versions of Prominence with different Missile Velocity and Explosion Radius stats.

These are the traits you can get with Promience.

  • Trail Mines: Projectiles leave small explosives in their wake
  • Vacuum Bomb: Generates a vortex that absorbs projectiles and reflects their damage onto nearby enemies
  • Searing Field: Hostiles in the blast radius briefly take additional damage over time
  • Grape Missile: Explosions release additional projectiles
  • Purge Blast: Explosions clear away hostile projectiles
  • Piercing Shell: Projectiles pierce through hostiles, exploding on each hit

Dispiritor

The Dispiritor fires out multiple small orbs that launch out to attack any foe in your sight. These do a small amount of damage to a target, building up what looks like a blue bar over an opponent's health. The attack gradually eats away at an opponent's health, depending on how much of a blue bar they have.

If you defeat a target before their blue bar does, they explode and leave behind a small object called a Cell, harming any foe that gets near it. It's effective at dealing with multiple targets or focusing on a large Alpha or boss foe. You can find Dispiritors with different Damage Duration and Cell Lifetime stats.

These are the traits you can get with the Dispiritor.

  • Long Throw: Projectiles fly faster, further, and in a more concentrated spread
  • Grim Vortex: Each spawned Cell is surrounded by a rotating swarm of projectiles
  • Power Cells: Damage over time dealt to hostiles generates Power
  • Corrupted Cell: Each time a Cell is spawned, it cleanses a portion of the wielder's Corruption and deals additional damage
  • Artillery Cell: Cells release additional arching projectiles, which burst and split on impact

Nova Lance

The Nova Lance is a hyper-focused attack that you charge for a few seconds before releasing. When you do, it unleashes a sniper-like shot at the spot you were aiming, dealing a heavy amount of damage. The charge is relatively short, giving you the opportunity to make well-timed shots, especially if you're careful enough to land a hit against an enemy's Weakpoint.

The Nova Lance has a similar power meter to the Prominence, where you can fire shots back-to-back from each other, depending on how much maximum Power you have. Still, you need to make every shot count, as it acts like a sniper rifle. It's easy to miss a shot. If the quick movement and intense combat is too much for you to make the most of these shots, it might be better to try relying on another Power Weapon if you can help it. You'll find Nova Lances with different Power Efficiency and Weakpoint Damage stats.

These are the traits you can get with the Nova Lance.

  • Altered Wave Length: The beam travels through hostiles
  • Bouncing Slug: Projectiles ricochet off terrain
  • Concentrated Slug: Projectiles deal increased damage but no longer travel through hostiles
  • Static Load: Shots will clear hostile projectiles in their path.
  • Sustained Portal Beam: Sustained fire for a short duration summons an additional beam
  • Compulsive Surge: Disables Autohit but deals additional damage to hostile weakpoints
  • Fractal Coils: Each hostile a projectile travels through increases its damage
  • Sonic Charge: Absorbs projectiles while charging, then releases a shockwave which deals Stagger damage based on the number of projectiles absorbed

Illumine

The Illumine is a focused beam attack that you need to charge up for a few seconds before unleashing it against an enemy. The beam fires out in front of you, damaging everything you hit, dealing heavy damage, with various unique traits that can make this a devastating Power Weapon, like summoning a second beam.

You can find Illumine with Radiance Growth and Maximum Radiance stats.

These are the traits you can get with Illumine.

  • Altered Wave Length: The beam travels through hostiles
  • Sustained Portal Beam: Sustained fire for a short duration summons an additional beam
  • Compulsive Surge: Disables Autohit by dealing additional damage to hostile Weakpoints
  • Corruptive Charge: The beam will first consume an accumulated Corruption before using Power
  • Chaining Arc: Hitting a hostile with the beam may trigger an enemy surge, which damages other nearby hostiles
  • Fatal Portal Beam: Defeating a hostile summons and an additional beam
