Checklists
There are multiple weapons you can unlock and find as you proceed through Saros. These become available at distinct moments in the story as you unlock additional biomes, but then they randomly appear inside containers. You won't know the type of weapon you're about to get when you break one, and they come with various traits that make them unique. Some are better than others, though! These are some of the best weapons you can get while playing Saros.

Best Weapons in Saros
The weapons you find by breaking a container are random, but you can try increasing your chances of finding one you want using the Acoylte's Wager, where you can redraw the weapon you get. It's still randomized, but it provides you with an alternative to the one in front of you.
Horde Shotgun
The Horde Shotgun is a close-range weapon that serves as a fine choice if you use one of the three available shotguns in Saros. When using it, you'll want to rely on your dash ability to close the distance, where you can do the most damage to an opponent in close quarters. However, this does come with plenty of risks, as you have increased the chances of getting hit by a wave of projectiles or having them hit you from behind when you're not expecting it.
The alternative fire mode, Vertical Spread, is a helpful way to remain at medium range. The normal firing mode has you using it horizontally. Now, with the vertical spread, you'll be firing at a longer range, making it easier to hit further away foes. Between the three shotguns you can get in Saros, it's a reliable option, and the alternative fire takes it a step beyond the other choices, which is why we recommend it. You also want to get one with the Searing Rounds, Reflected Stagger, and Payback traits.
Marksman Handcannon
The Marksman Handcannon's basic attack does not rely on auto hit. It follows a similar firing style to the Eruptor Handcannon, where it fires out a three-round burst. It's a good choice, especially if you want those hits to land and do some heavy damage.
What makes it a standout choice is the alternative fire, the Auto Mark. You'll charge the attack to do some heavy damage, and for a short period of time after, your basic attacks do an Auto Hit against an enemy. It's only for a short time, but if you can hit the enemy's Weakspot, you can do a fair amount of damage against them. You'll want to get it with the Headhunter, Favored Target, and Death Load traits to do the most damage.
Myriad Chakram
The Myriad Chakram can carve straight into a series of enemies, ripping through them, before the discs return to you to immediately go out again. It's a rapid-fire weapon that can do some excellent damage, especially if you have the Swift Chakram trait on it.
What makes this one distinct compared to the other Chakram is that the alternative fire is Impact Return, where if you land a hit against an enemy's Weakpoint, the disc instantly returns to you. When it does, you can fire it out again, so long as you can consistently hit an enemy's Weakpoint. You want to prioritize landing Weakpoint attacks with this weapon, making it a devastating weapon that can cut through enemies.
Nova Lance
The Nova Lance is a Power Weapon, but it's an excellent one when you can take a few seconds to line up your shot against an enemy's Weakspot. It's a single fire attack that can do an incredible amount of damage. Landing a Weakspot shot is critical to successfully making this a fantastic weapon.
Like the other Power Weapons, the traits make some better than others. You'll want to try getting a Nova Lance that has Altered Wave Length, Bouncing Slug, Fractal Coils, Sonic Charge, or Sustained Portal Beam traits.
Onslaught Rifle
The Onslaught Rifle is the traditional rifle weapon you can expect to use in Saros. It does not have autohit, meaning you'll have to aim your shots. Even still, it's an excellent weapon if you can line up the shots as you're hectically running around, attempting to dodge projectiles and dance around the map.
The alternative fire, Heavy Fire, makes the Onslaught Rifle significantly better. With it, you'll be using multiple rounds to fire a single shot, and they land harder against an opponent. If you can highlight your reticle on an enemy's Weakpoint, this can do some incredible damage, especially with the Piercing Rounds and Power Generator traits on it.
Prominence
Prominence, the first Power Weapon you unlock, is an great choice and one that's hard to pass up for another choice. It fires a heavy area-of-effect attack that damages the foe you hit, and others if they're close by it as well. It's a smaller version of your Overdrive attack, and one that uses your Power meter, rather than your Overdrive strength.
Like Nova Lance, the Traits you get on Prominence make it stand out compared to others. You want to get one with traits such as Trail Mines, Searing Field, Vacuum Bomb, Grape Missle, or Piercing Shell. These are excellent choices that make it a fantastic Power Weapon in every situation.
Ripsaw Chakram
Similar to the Myriad Chakram, the Ripsaw Chakram is a cutting weapon that you can use to slice through every foe. However, the alternative fire, the Tormented Retract, is where the real damage comes from. First, you fire out the discs with your standard attack, and then hold down the alternative fire trigger for the discs to begin spinning into the foes. The discs remain there until you release the trigger, or you use another attack.
You do have to move around while you do this to avoid being hit, since you'll be vulnerable. You won't be able to Parry or use your shield, but if you're able to manuever and dodge incoming attacks, it's a great way to deal a heavy amount of damage to an opponent. We recommend getting one with the Charkram Blast, Swift Chakram, Split on Hit, or the Razor Edge traits.
Smart Rifle
The final weapon we think stands out as a truly devastating choice is the Smart Rifle. It automatically targets the nearest hostile in your line of sight, allowing you to pull the trigger, and all of your projectiles go toward them. It's a good way to focus on a single target, and not have to worry about aiming your shots You do, however, miss out on the Weakspot damage.
Additionally, the alternative fire, Split Smart Rounds, turns it into a burst weapon where it fires out multiple shots simultaneously. It still doesn't do as much damage as the Heavy Shots from the Onslaught Rifle. However, those shots are going to hit your target, and you can focus on dodging attacks or Parrying them back at your foes. You'll want to try getting a Smart Rifle with the Absorb Load, Extra Round, or the Spectral Round traits.
