Lucenite is the main resource you'll be gathering throughout your time in Saros. You pick it up as you explore a biome, defeat enemies, and conquer bosses, bringing it back to Primary to purchase Armor Matrix upgrades to expand your skill tree. Collecting Lucenite can be tiring, and there are a few ways you can maximize your output. Here's what you need to know about the best way to get Lucenite fast while playing Saros.
Best Ways to Farm Lucenite
Completing a run is always the best way to get as much Lucenite as possible in Saros. You lose a certain amount of it if you die and return to the Passage, having to complete a run from the beginning.
This can take time to reach this point, but when you do, there are other ways that help increase the amount of Lucenite you can bring back.
Focus on Increasing Drive Stat
Of the three stats you have in Saros, the Drive stat gives you a bonus on the amount of Lucenite you receive after you complete a run. You get this regardless of whether you successfully complete it or if you get sent back because of a death. You'll see it in the final summary, where your Drive stat gives you a bonus based on the amount of Lucenite you collect.
The more Lucenite you collect and the higher your Drive stat when you complete a run, the more you receive in the bonus. It's a good way to make sure that you always receive a decent amount, especially early on in your time playing Saros. You start to see this bonus skyrocket as you get later in the game, which is helpful as the skills begin to cost a fair amount!
Returning to Previous Biomes
Although we don't recommend it, for those who want to earn as much Lucenite as possible, repeating previous areas is a good way to do this. Backtracking is a good idea, in this instance. You'll have a good idea of the enemies you'll fight here, you know the patterns, and you've already defeated the Overlord protecting this region. You've done it once, and you can do it again, given you know what to expect, and you're stronger, too!
Although if you go back with more Permanent Equipment upgrades unlocked, chances are you'll be able to explore more areas than you could before. These offer more opportunities to earn Lucenite, or give you items that increase how much you get at the run of a run.
Armor Matrix Drive Upgrades
You have to spend money to make money, and that's also true with Lucenite. There are several Lucenite-based upgrades you can purchase when you speak with Primary when you return to the Passage.
The most standard choices are the Drive upgrades, but there are others you can purchase as well. You can get upgrades that increase how much Lucenite enemies drop, Lucenite stays on the ground longer, or you lose less of it when you die. Many of these upgrades require Halcyon, which is another good upgrade to seek out while you're exploring previous biomes.
Always Activate the Eclipse
The Eclipse is the best generator when it comes to getting the most Lucenite on any run. It also comes with the most risks, as the enemies you encounter are significantly stronger. They have different, stronger attacks; you have to deal with Corruption, and they become much more aggressive.
Although it's a gamble, if you're focusing on getting as much Lucenite as you can, activating an Eclipse as soon as it becomes available is a good idea. The Blighted Swamp, for example, has an Eclipse pedestal at the entrance. It makes it a great area to farm for Lucenite, as you can do an entire run fighting enemies and earning even more Lucenite, and it becomes available early on in the game.
Lucenite Artifacts
Speaking of the Eclipse, Corrupted Artifacts that reward Lucenite are always a good idea to grab, even if they have negatives. There are some that offer a Drive stat increase, along with an additional bonus, like taking out specific enemies. A good one are the bounties that have a chance of enemies dropping additional Lucenite when you defeat them. Couple that with the increased amount you get during an Eclipse, and that begins to stack up quickly!
Collecting Aether at Full Health
Not taking a hit and using the Aether enemy drops (or from containers) is another way for you to get Lucenite. If you use an Aether heal with maximum health, you can't heal from it, converting it into Lucenite. You'll see this option anytime you approach an Aether heal, and you can't pick it up.
Earning additional Lucenite this way is particularly good motivation, as it encourages you to be effective against enemies, especially with timing your shield and dodges, as every successful one can potentially net you a small amount of Lucenite. While it's nothing to brag about, every little bit counts.
