Administrator to użytkownik, który może zabezpieczać strony i zdejmować takowe zabezpieczenia, usuwać i odtwarzać strony, blokować i odblokowywać użytkowników oraz dokonywać różnych innych zadań (pełną listę można zobaczyć tutaj). Aby zostać administratorem, złóż wniosek na stronie Requests for adminship i upewnij się, że spełniasz wymagania podane na tamtej stronie oraz te poniżej wymienione.

Zasady i wnioskowanie o przyznanie uprawnień administratora
Aby wnioskować o uprawnienia administratora na Meta, musisz:
- Wykazać doświadczenie cross-wiki (np. uczestniczyć okres co najmniej dwóch miesięcy na przynajmniej jednym projekcie innym niż Meta i "swoim głównym").
- Mieć stronę użytkownika na Meta, z linkami do stron użytkownika na innych projektach, na których uczestniczysz (mogą stwierdzać, że włączyłeś konto uniwersalne lub być wyświetlane jako Wiki matrix).
- Mieć poprawny adres kontaktowy (adres e-mail w preferencjach, potwierdzony lub wpisany na stronie użytkownika).
- Być aktywnym na Meta (w rozumieniu subiektywnym; nie ma znaczenia sama liczba edycji).
- Mile widziana wieża {{#babel}} na stronie użytkownika, z uwagi na wielojęzyczną naturę Meta.
Ill-considered nominations for adminship can be draining and deflating to both community and candidate. Any successful candidate will need to demonstrate sufficient experience within the Wikimedia community, in addition to a familiarity with Meta. If a candidate is not already a local administrator or holder of advanced permissions on a Wikimedia content project, they are less likely to pass a request for adminship at Meta.
The request is made at Requests for adminship, with at least one week allocated for the community to express opinions. The candidate will be named sysop here only if approved by at least 75% of participants. All active Meta-wiki editors may participate and give their opinion on the candidate. If your activity is outside Meta, but you have an opinion based on working with candidate in other Wikimedia projects, in support of or against the candidate, you are welcome to submit it.
If the candidate becomes a sysop, they should add their name to the Administrator list, and ensure they keep a valid user name page, links to at least one other project, and valid contact. Administrators not respecting these rules will be desysoped.

Wyjątki
It is helpful for some people to have access to protected pages on Meta (related to languages files). In such cases, two options are possible:
- Temporary unprotection of these pages, so that the user can quietly work on them for a limited time.
- Temporary sysoping of the user so they can edit the protected pages. In this case, the adminship shall be granted with no requirements and approval, but the user will promise to limit their activity to the necessity of their local project. Preferably, the admin status will be temporary.
Administratorzy z ograniczeniami
Administrator status can be granted in a limited or restricted way. Limits can be set in time and/or in scope (for example, a user can be granted limited administrator status to perform technical work for an indefinite period of time, or to assist in a specific task for a set period of time, etc.). Unless requested and granted otherwise, limited adminship will have a duration of one month, after which rights will be removed. Limited administrators technically are given the same rights as regular administrators, but should avoid using their administrator tools for tasks they have not been authorized. Doing so could be grounds for immediate removal. Limited administrators can also be subject to a different activity requirement than regular administrators.

Nieaktywni administratorzy są pozbawiani uprawnień. "Nieaktywność" jest definiowana jako mniej niż 10 akcji w ciągu ostatnich sześciu miesięcy. Kryteria odbierania uprawnień
- Użytkownicy, którzy wykonali mniej niż dziesięć edycji w ciągu 6 miesięcy poprzedzających datę przeglądu nieaktywnych (1 kwietnia lub 1 października) są pozbawiani uprawnień bez ostrzeżenia.
- Użytkownicy, którzy wykonali więcej niż dziesięć edycji, ale wykonali mniej niż 10 akcji wymagających uprawnienia administratora w tym samym okresie, mają tydzień na określenie, czy nadal chcą być administratorami. Użytkownicy powiadamiani są pierwszego dnia, a uprawnienia odbierane siódmego dnia, jeżeli nie ma odpowiedzi.
Exception
Newly elected administrators are exempt from the first evaluation date following their election. The evaluation criteria apply only to users who were administrators for the full six-month evaluation period.
Requests for removal
Requests for removing the adminship (or other permissions) of a user can be made on Requests for adminship. The user making the request should explain why they propose the rights to be removed, detailing (possibly with diffs) any violation of policy and/or misuse of tools. Following the standard discussion period a bureaucrat may close the request, determining if there is a consensus for removal.
Emergency removal
In case of a emergency (e.g. a compromised account, intentional damages etc.), when a fast removal is advisable, contact any active steward based on the need.
Gdy administrator jest stroną sporu
Administrators should avoid using their tools in situations where they may not be impartial. Those situations include using the tools in disputes in which they are involved parties. If the administrator is in doubt, the administrator is encouraged to ask for opinions, or to ask another administrator to take the case to Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat.
