http://de.wikiquote.org/w/index.php?title=Emergenz&curid=27666&diff=467152&oldid=467150 Was soll das, bitteschön? Vielleicht machen Sie sich erst mal mit den Regeln des Projekts Wikiquote vertraut, bevor Sie sich als Besserwisser aufspielen: "was probably here reverting or fixing unhelpful edits and won't be staying long." In sog.

Copyvio tag for deletion
Just wondering what was the copyvio tag about on the deletion tag for The Rescuers about since it's a direct copy of the en article, I know it is still grounds for deletions in Ilokano wikipedia because it's written in English but I want to know about the copyvio reason so I know what to look for in the future . Thanks and regard.--Lam-ang (talk) 17:46, 9 December 2012 (UTC) Reply
- Well, it is forbidden to c&p content, even from other WMF projects. You have to import, if you want to translate. The 3.0 License under which all articles are licensed says that you have to attribute the work. It mustn't look like the work is from the IP. The names of the authors must be visible in the page history. Kind regards, Vogone (talk) 17:59, 9 December 2012 (UTC) Reply
- I'm aware of the license that all wikipedia articles are released, and that anyone editing wikipedia released their work based on those licensed when you get warned by this message "By clicking the "Save page" button, you are agreeing to Wikimedia's terms of use and privacy policy, and you irrevocably agree to release your contribution under the CC-BY-SA 3.0 License and the GFDL. You agree that a hyperlink or URL is sufficient attribution under the Creative Commons license." , so technically I can copypaste any articles from WMF wikipedias and that the hyperlink or URL to the license is sufficient attribution under the Creative Commons license since all WMF wikpedias are hyperlink to that license. But what you are telling us is that editors must have an imports rights (which is impossible to grant anyone who wants to edit) to translate articles from en wikipedia? Please advice or clarify because you got me confused by your statements. Please direct me also where you sourced this statement "forbidden to c&p content, even from other WMF projects". - I'd like to redirect you to Wikipedia:Requests for page importation and Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Kind regards, Vogone (talk) 20:33, 9 December 2012 (UTC) Reply
- I have read them but still didn't answer some of my questions, what is the reason of the copyvio for "The Rescuers" it obviously satiesfied all requirements for attribution, the article page was linked to CC-BY-SA and GDFL license it has an en interwiki to satisfy the source for translation or origin of the cut and pasted parts of the article, but you are saying that editors need imports rights to translate and forbidden to cut and paste.--Lam-ang (talk) 21:10, 9 December 2012 (UTC) Reply
- And he is right. An interwiki link is never sufficient for a translation; there are millions of interwiki links which connect independent articles. On Wikipedia:Requests for page importation you can read "This is a place to request that pages be imported with history of pages from other Wikimedia Foundation wikis to here. This might be done if a page was copied and pasted from a WMF wiki". A simple cut and paste (even if it contains a link to the original article [history] or the whole history added to one revision or the talk page) is always a worse solution than to import the history of an article into another one. I am not a lawyer, Vogone neither, and even if you'd be one I doubt that you know all legal implications of the GFDL/CC licenses in all given laws (US and local ones). For me, it is self-evident that a complete copy of the history would stand all accusations while possible gentlmen agreements wouldn't. So please ask a steward to copy the history (I can do that if you tell me the original and the translated article). Cheers —DerHexer (Talk) 21:24, 9 December 2012 (UTC) Reply
- So what you are saying is we need to import or request a steward to import a history of an article from any WMF wikipedias before we can even translate to satisfy the attribution requirements? So if this is true, the Ilokano wikipedia might have to be deleted from the database because it's full of translated articles from en wikipedia without the full history. I'm not a lawyer either but confused by some of the statements that's why I'm asking clarification here.--Lam-ang (talk) 22:01, 9 December 2012 (UTC) Reply
- Well, the WMF closes its eyes and accepts the gentlemen agreement. I don't know any law suit regarding this issue. But the German Wikipedia decided to handle this stricter and imports all revisions that has been used for any translation (if it's technically possible). Since Vogone is coming from the German Wikipedia, he obviously adopts the same procedure for each translation he sees on other wikis too. What we don't see we can't fix. Nominated you for adminship on Meta-Wiki
Hi. I've gone ahead and nominated you for adminship on Meta-Wiki here: Meta:Requests for adminship/Vogone. I'm not sure I did everything correctly. I think it's close enough, though. Good luck! --MZMcBride (talk) 18:49, 21 February 2013 (UTC) Reply
- I am quite surprised about this nomination. Thank you for the trust and I hope I will not get problems with the eligibility. :-) Kind regards, Vogone (talk) 19:46, 21 February 2013 (UTC) Reply
- Hi Vogone. WOuld you consider withdrawing your current RfA, and either waiting until we hash out the requirements? Even if you are unwilling to wait, would you consider withdrawing and resubmitting? Being that you are now an admin on wikidata, the requirement that you be an admin on a content wiki can be considered fulfilled (by many) whereas now, technically, when your request was submitted, you were not an admin on any content wiki. Perhaps discuss the idea with some of your more vocal supporters; I just don't want our crats to be in the unenviable position of having to have policy trump consensus or vice versa. Thank you. -- Avi (talk) 16:54, 25 February 2013 (UTC) Reply
- Strangely, you don't seem to have any issue putting an adminship candidate in an unenviable position, though.... --MZMcBride (talk) 19:22, 25 February 2013 (UTC) Reply
- I do have an issue, which is the above was a suggestion and I also mentioned that it would be a good idea to discuss the issue with other people (mainly those who supported his nomination). I do not envy him either; I think he is in the stronger position, though, as I can see absolutely no way that he will not become an admin eventually. The only question is a (perhaps picayune) technicality with the current nomination. I speak from some personal experience. See commons:Commons:Requests and votes/Avraham and commons:Commons:Requests and votes/Avraham (2nd attempt). -- Avi (talk) 20:02, 25 February 2013 (UTC) Reply
- Why not simply extend the request for one week, counting from Feb. 24st, when Vogone became a Wikidata admin? Mathonius (talk) 19:31, 25 February 2013 (UTC) Reply
- If we agree on that, then we might as well let this go through as is (which is not necessarily a bad idea). The issue is, if someone is going to be a stickler for the current policy, then we have to have a valid nomination. If we accept this nomination as valid in and of itself (which "extending" would mean) then it's pretty clear Vogone should be an admin and why make him wait extra time unnecessarily? -- Avi (talk) 20:04, 25 February 2013 (UTC) Reply
- We have to have a valid nomination according to any possible or theoretical objection? Or what? Anarchy? Papal schism? :-) --MZMcBride (talk) 22:33, 25 February 2013 (UTC) Reply

I'm sorry that turned into such a mess. :-( Re-nominate yourself in a month or so, or I'd be happy to re-file. This is Meta-Wiki being... why everyone hates Meta-Wiki sometimes. But we're gonna see reform of the previous rules. God willing. --MZMcBride (talk) 01:01, 3 March 2013 (UTC) Reply
Why wait a month? At this point Vogone is an admin on wikidata, which fulfills the current requirements (at least IMO) and there should be no problem. Also, Vogone, I'd like to commend you on your handling of this situation; you easily could have gotten very angry and taken out your frustrations on wiki—you didn't. That is a testament to your maturity. Thank you. -- Avi (talk) 02:51, 3 March 2013 (UTC) Reply

Article Geurija Isa Jatoë in wp.ace
Hi, Vogone, why you protect article ace:Geurija Isa Jatoë? The article has been deleted before by administrator because has many mistakes. Even you halt other users to put delete template. It's really not fair. How can you do that? -- Si Gam (talk) 20:05, 5 May 2013 (UTC) Reply
- Is it my obligation to correct it? I think no. If you want to prevent edit war, you should ask Jose77 to stop making chaos in this Wikipedia. danke dir bei der Mithilfe von den Übersetzungen. Was war hier falsch? --Cornelius Kibelka (WMDE) (talk) 21:14, 31 May 2013 (UTC) Reply
Dazu einfach folgendes in deine common.js einfügen:
importScriptURI('//en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:AzaToth/morebits.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript'); importScriptURI('//meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:PiRSquared17/twinkle.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript');

Stupidity ¬¬
One of the things that annoys me most in this Movement are people who do not know what they are doing, and do without thinking, more than that, who do not measure how their actions cause harm to newbies, and in this case, people of a schools program. v:pt:Utilizador:Black.Jack Do you know how to use this? I do not know who gave you the tool, but you're making a bad use of it. Reverse what you did. - I understand that you are a bit in rage, but I neither blocked the user nor deleted his edits. His user page was edited anonimously by two different IP adresses which is normally a reason for deletion (as nobody can prove whether this is really User:Black.Jack who wrote that). Maybe my deletion comment was a bit inappropriate but the action was intentionally not against User:Black.Jack. Regards, Vogone talk 14:13, 22 June 2013 (UTC) Reply
Bot BoulaurBot on OC wikipedia - WIKIDATA STUBS
Hi, let the oc wikipedia community decide please. My unapproved bot had more than 40 000 page created not reverted by local community (french commune...) and 200 000 edits.
On wikidata approved bot: 34 000 edits.
The content of the articles is from wikidata using mainly the INFOBOX: a lot of stubs, some with more informations.
PLEASE let the local community decide
Boulaur (talk) 04:50, 23 June 2013 (UTC) Reply
- Of course, that's what I intend to do. Anyway, running controversial and unapproved bot tasks is a quite inappropriate behaviour and I hope you have learned from this incident for the future. What now happens to the created pages and your bot is the ocwiki community's decision. Regards, Vogone talk 06:07, 23 June 2013 (UTC) Reply

- See simple:wikt:User talk:Vogone. I personally don't think "a lot" was needed there, but rollback shouldn't have been used. Of course, it's not a major error to use rollback instead of undo. `PiRSquared17 (talk) 20:33, 17 July 2013 (UTC) Reply

- A true null edit never shows up in the page history. Thanks for support
Hey Vogone, I see you supported my idea for WikiNames however I am unsure on how to spread the word around the Wikimedia community, I'm kinda new to all this cool stuff. Do you have any hints and tips, it said in the page template something about a mailing list, but I don't want to spam a load of people. I managed to find the template which allows me to put WikiNames on the goings on, but there must be more I can do. Thanks for your time and support GingerGeek (talk) 10:51, 19 July 2013 (UTC) Reply
- Hi GingerGeek. First of all, I've added the proposed project to this list, so that it becomes easier for interested users browsing this page to find it. For advertising the project, it would really be the best if you do both leaving a comment in the Wikimedia Forum and on the Wikimedia Foundation's mailing list. Spam?
Hi. I noticed that you have deleted a userpage on sv.wb (http://sv.wikibooks.org/wiki/Anv%C3%A4ndare:Veganbecauseicare) and claimed that it contained spam. Could you please explain how you know that it was spam in that page? I have searched for the contents and only found other posts by what appears to be the same user on other sites. Regards Averater (talk) 07:20, 25 July 2013 (UTC) Reply
- Originally I tagged the page for deletion and I noticed that you removed the tag. So I requested the page to be deleted. As for the addition by that user to sv.wiki, you will find that, that edit has also been undone. - I don't really see how that's spam. PiRSquared17 (talk) 11:55, 25 July 2013 (UTC) Reply
- Me neither. I also couldn't find any evidence of it being spam when it was requested for deletion and since Glaisher had no other edits on sv.wb apart from his/her user pages I thought the request either was a mistake or that Glaisher possibly was some anti-vegan-fundamentalist. Either way, I removed the request. But I'm also interested as it seems to be some confusion (from me or Glaisher) about this being spam, why it was requested for deletion here om meta and not brought up with me personally or with any other admin on sv.wb. - Averater (talk) 13:04, 25 July 2013 (UTC) Reply
- In my eyes, this is a clear case of spam, especially considering the page was created by a single-purpose account used only to advertise an ideology and underline this with multiple external weblinks. The Wikimedia projects have never been a place for propaganda (like Averater called it) and should never be one. Furthermore, I believe that this user page met the English Wikipedia article's definition of spam ("Spam is the use of electronic messaging systems to send unsolicited bulk messages, especially advertising, indiscriminately."), however feel free to restore the page as my decision is neither final nor unreversible, and our view on spam can differ. Question
Hi Vogone, can I ask how does one become a global rollbacker? I am a rollbacker on English Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. Jianhui67 (talk) 13:38, 14 September 2013 (UTC) Reply
- One becomes a SWMT. John F. Lewis (talk) 15:41, 14 September 2013 (UTC) Reply
- @John F. Lewis: Being an SWMT member is no requirement. @Jianhui67: You need to demonstrate a heavy need of rollback across multiple wikis. This policy page explains the purpose of global rollbackers. Of course, help in the SWMT is always appreciated and most global rollbackers are also in this team. - I have a history of positive reverts using rollback in English Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. I also added my name to SWMT. What else do I need to do next? I will definitely need rollback to revert vandalism across multiple wikis. Jianhui67 Talk 17:48, 14 September 2013 (UTC) Reply

Well I would want to help in reverting vandalism. I monitor the RecentChanges page on different wikis every day. I am already a local rollbacker on 3 wikis. But to become a global rollbacker I am considering very hard if I should become one or not. Jianhui67 talk ★contribs 15:38, 22 October 2013 (UTC) Reply

- The issue is that we need to be sure that you know how to recognize vandalism across multiple languages, and different projects... unlike big wikis, it is hard to monitor use of the tool at small wikis, so we have to make sure you know what you are doing. --Rs chen 7754 17:03, 22 October 2013 (UTC) Reply

@Jianhui67:, why not just use global Twinkle? PiRSquared17 (talk) 22:22, 22 October 2013 (UTC) Reply
- @Steinsplitter: Sorry I am not hat collecting. Whatever tools and rights that admins give me I would definitely use them. The 'hat collecting' page says collecting rights with no actual use of them, but to boost one's ego or to show off. And I will not do those. - @PiRSquared17: I don't understand why Twinkle don't work on some wikis. An example is Commons. I have installed Twinkle over there and when I press one of the Twinkle buttons, it starts to lag and hang. I waited for a long time for Twinkle to work, but it didn't. So I have no choice but to use popups or rollback. I don't know it is my computer's problem or the server's problem. I am using Google Chrome to access Wikimedia projects. Lietuviškasis vikiverzitetas
Atsiprašau, jog kreipiuosi lietuviškai, nes manau, jog kuriantys lietuvišką projektą privalėtų gebėti labai gerai bendrauti lietuviškai. Pirma: man įdomu ar Jūs ruošiatės pratęsti darbus kuriant lietuvišką vikiverzitetą? Pagarbiai --Kusurija (talk) 19:16, 8 February 2014 (UTC) Reply
