Projects Needing Volunteer Developers

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.
This group should probably have more organizers. See documentation on this recommendation.

Now, ANYONE can easily make updates to an informal list of projects needing volunteer developers with a few clicks because the table exists on a wiki page!

This group is perfect for you if:
- you're a Drupal project maintainer/developer looking for a place to post your request for volunteer developers!
- you're a Drupal developer looking for a project that needs your help!

This group was created because a need exists to match Drupal developers with Drupal projects being worked on by project maintainer/developers needing volunteer developers** in order to enhance and add to:
- Drupal core
- Drupal contributed modules
- and other Drupal-related projects.

There are project maintainers/developers that prefer actual coding assistance over funds and, likewise, developers out there who want to volunteer their time and skills to projects needing them. This new group hopes to satisfy both project maintainers/developers and volunteer developers by centralizing the various projects here for easy review and discussion and helping the parties link and match up.

Volunteer developers can help the Drupal community, and themselves, by contributing their skills and time to specific projects. This will help Drupal projects receive the necessary support to get them finished and donated back to Drupal. It's a win-win-win situation where the Drupal community, the volunteer developers, and the project maintainers/developers hoping to complete a project all benefit!

If you would like to receive volunteer developer's assistance in order to help complete a project**, this group is for you! Your code contributions are both needed and very much appreciated so if you need help, ask for it and, hopefully, someone will lend you a hand. Please leave a comment that includes:
- Project maintainer(s)/Developer(s) and/or company name(s) with a link(s): (examples: Derek Wright (dww on Drupal.org) or CivicSpace or BuyBlue.org)
- Project being worked on: (examples: the new system for releasing Drupal contributions or og2list or organic group enhancements)
- Any specifics on the type of volunteer assistance you need (example: hard coding or coding review, etc.)
- Web site and/or contact info with additional information (if applicable): www.example.com/help-me-build-a-coffee-maker-drupal-module

If you would like to be a volunteer developer, this group is for you! Your time and skills are both needed and very much appreciated. You'll learn about some exciting projects that need help because developers will post their needs here. Please leave a comment that includes:
- Your volunteer and/or business name with a link(s): (example: Walt Esquivel, Wellness Corps)
- Web site(s) with any additional information you might want to include: (example: www.example.com/i-love-to-volunteer-my-time-to-drupal)

Thanks,
Walt Esquivel, MBA; MA; President, Wellness Corps; Captain, USMC (Veteran)
50ドル Hosting Discount Helps Projects Needing Financing

**Project maintainers/Developers are hereby notified that any project(s) posted to the "Projects Needing Volunteer Developers" group must be donated back to the Drupal community and included, if applicable, in Drupal contributed modules. This will be on the honor system.

We’re looking for 1-2 Drupal developers to help us with improving our website and respond to issues on an as needed basis. Unfortunately, I have very limited time to assist and would love to get some extra support.

Additional short-term resource needed for charity project

Posted by Anonymous on March 12, 2015 at 11:29am

We are looking for some short-term additional research on a charity project with a Drupal 7 build. We have found that the work is smaller than what most developers would be prepared to quote for so thought it might be a good opportunity for any developers looking for a piece of charity work. Mostly themeing work.

Select values in several dropdowns and show results.

Posted by cneumann on September 5, 2013 at 8:20pm

Hi All,
I am wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction here.
I would like to create a node/page/block/whatever that does the following:

For the sake of simplicity, there are 3 drop down menus. Each menu would have a list of data that is pre-defined. You would see the alpha numeric value only in the drop down, but the items in parenthesis are the values the user would see after they select the initial value and select Go.

Drop1 Drop2 Drop3....etc
-1 (red) -a (box) -x (bag)

I'm currently working on my own website but looking to volunteer or collaborate on a larger project.

Fairly new to Drupal, but I have multiple years of embedded C++ and java experience, with some GUI and database work before that.

I'm located in Seattle if that makes a difference to anyone.

Please, feel free to contact me through drupal contact form if you need some help or a drupal job done. We can see if I can take it or decide what to do. I also could give some support and consultancy. It'll be for free, the bottleneck is my timetable and available time but we'll manage :)

Best regards.

Help us find ET!

Posted by siemion on November 9, 2012 at 4:49am

Our research group, the UC Berkeley Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, began building up a Drupal site (http://seti.berkeley.edu) a few years ago to support both scientists in our group and outreach to the general public. We could use some help cleaning up the UI, organizing content and upgrading from Drupal 6 to 7. Ideally you would be located in the SF Bay area and could meet with our group in person, and would be willing to take on this pet project for an extended period of time (not a lot of hours, just be willing to work with us over time).
