Help us find ET!

Posted by siemion on November 9, 2012 at 4:49am

Our research group, the UC Berkeley Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, began building up a Drupal site (http://seti.berkeley.edu) a few years ago to support both scientists in our group and outreach to the general public. We could use some help cleaning up the UI, organizing content and upgrading from Drupal 6 to 7. Ideally you would be located in the SF Bay area and could meet with our group in person, and would be willing to take on this pet project for an extended period of time (not a lot of hours, just be willing to work with us over time).

Brisbane hosting for the Lord Mayor's Community Trust

Posted by chriso on February 9, 2012 at 10:18am

The Lord Mayor's Community Trust (LMCT) supports charities that care for and help those in need in the Brisbane community. The trust has very strong ties with the Lord Mayor's Office within Brisbane City Council.

The Trust's web presence has been supported by the team behind the popular and now defunct Drupal website, ourbrisbane.com. I built their current site in D6 for them a couple of years ago and piggybacked its hosting alongside ourbrisbane.com's own. The ourbrisbane team, however, like the website, no longer exists.

Resources for non-profit/charity sites

Posted by patrickfgoddard on November 19, 2011 at 6:54pm

Curious of any tips on resources available to non-profit/charity sites.

Specifically, any freebies or discounts companies might offer.

For example:

  • Hosting (Didn't Acquia offer non profit hosting at one point?)
  • Typography (google fonts is a no-brainer, but anything else?)
  • Stock images
  • General design resources

New way of donating - Made with Drupal!

Posted by afox on November 19, 2011 at 7:57am

Hi,

I thought I'd pitch a great web app we've built with Drupal. It's a revolutionary concept for Charity organizations to gather donations and track them to the grassroot level. Our main goal is to make donating transparent and more social!

Go check out Bank4Hope @ http://bank4hope.org. We're looking for charity organizations around the world to partner with as well as companies that are interested in working with us to do more than just good ideas!

Fight Gone Bad 6 and helping to Save my Beard!

Posted by emackn on September 15, 2011 at 3:44pm

I'm doing this fund raiser this year. It's called [Fight Gone Bad | http://www.sportsgrants.org/fgb6/blog/].
It's part of this crossfit stuff i've been doing for the last year.

Anyway, it benefits the Special Operations Warrior foundation, CrossFit Kids, and Camp Patriot. Also, I entered into a side bet
with one of my crossfit coaches and if she raises more cash than me, i have to shave. If I win, she gets pink hair.

[http://youtu.be/6gLu5_1Cg9c|Here's our promo video] Our little side bet ends tomorrow at 2pm. But you can donate up to the 24th.

Request for Assistance: Drupal Set-Up for Two Non-Profits

Posted by Warren Mayer on January 21, 2011 at 10:38pm

I am totally new to Drupal and unsure how to set Drupal up in a way that makes sense for multiple non-profit orgs helping the poor and marginalized here in Columbia, Mo. I would like to connect with someone who can help me build up a stable Web presence such that multiple people can contribute to a site but it retains its "non-Drupal appearance" (at least to some degree) and allows for a singular editorial voice.
