When an earthquake occurs
Even if a big earthquake occurs, don't panic and protect yourself!
Step 1: First, hide under a table or somewhere similar.
In the event of an earthquake equivalent to a seismic intensity of 5 or higher, the gas meter (microcomputer meter) will automatically cut off the gas supply.
Step 2: Once the shaking has subsided, turn off the gas.
If you are using gas appliances, turn them off.
Step 3: After an earthquake, make sure it is safe before using gas.
- Do you smell gas around your gas appliances?
- Is there any abnormality such as deformation or damage to the gas appliance?
- Are there any abnormalities such as loosening, dents, or holes in the indoor and outdoor ventilation equipment such as chimneys?
When there is no gas
Step 1: Make sure the gas main valve is open.
Try opening the main valve and seeing if it ignites.
Step 2: Make sure your ignition method is correct.
Please check the instruction manual for your gas appliance for instructions on how to ignite it.
Step 3: Check whether other gas appliances can be used.
If other gas appliances work, the gas appliance may be broken.

Check your exhaust pipes from time to time!
This is dangerous as it can cause carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.
- The exhaust pipe (chimney) is clogged with leaves, plastic, etc.
- Damage to the exhaust pipe (chimney)
Be careful after earthquakes, strong winds, typhoons, heavy rain, and heavy snow
- Disconnected, holed or clogged exhaust pipe (chimney)
- Clogged air intake
When resetting the microcomputer meter
The microcomputer meter will shut off the gas in the following cases:
