There are 11 team members who initially applied in Feb 2024. The agreements documenation says that these applications are lasting one year. It doesn't mean everyone who doesn't re-apply will be kicked shortly after, but they need to be renewed or dropped.

I and Earl Warren already re-applied: #221, #224, so there are 9 more applications left.

- marks entries where a renewal was created
i️ - marks entries where resignation was indicated
⏹️ - marks otherwise removed entries

There were also 8 applications in March 2024, I would like to handle them in (削除) scope of this issue as well (削除ここまで) a separate issue later.

⏹️ @oatbiscuits (Arabic): I appreciate all your past contributions, which were a lot. You were last active in Feb 2024 and we haven't been in contact for a while. As a reminder, you have an admin role here. Please indicate if you would like to stay, downgrade to translator or be removed from the team.

⏹️ @rmorettibr (Brazilian Portuguese): I appreciate the past effort. You were last active in Feb 2024. I suppose it happened to be not as interesting to you and this is totally fine. Please indicate if you would like to stay or be removed from the team.

@Gusted (Dutch): I expect that you'll find time to renew your application. Your participation was helpful the whole year and having you as a backup admin is important, too, even though you technically have that access anyway being an administrator of Codeberg.

@jadedctrl (Esperanto): I appreciate the effort on bringing this unusual language to the project, I suppose it was challenging to complete it by yourself. You were last active in March 2023. Please indicate if you would like to stay or be removed from the team.
Esperanto was one of the languages that were added as user-selectable as they got active maintainers at the time. However, it currently has 18% completion and is stalled. Do you think it's worth it keeping in the UI or better remove it until someone picks up the maintenance again?

@fnetX: having you as a backup admin is important and your participation in some administrative/architectural discussions is appreciated. I suppose you'll find time to renew your application.

@n0toose: thank you for maintaining Greek localization! I suppose you'll find time to renew your application.

@ledyba: thank you for maintaining Japanese localization! You seem to be working with large inactivity windows, but it is fine. Please indicate if you would like to continue your membership and re-apply if so.

i️ @Werenter: thank you for all the effort of bootstrapping the localization! It all might not have happened without you. You were last active in April 2024. Please indicate if you would like to stay or be removed from the team. Don't worry about the Russian localization, I'll keep maintaining it, but I don't mind your company if you decide to pick up the maintenance again. 🙃

@nykula: you seem to be still active maintaining Ukrainian translation. Please renew your application if you intend to keep doing so.

@0ko
Hi! Sorry for inactivity.
I don't have much time to spare, but I'm still willing to continue localization contribution.
Because there is no one working on the Japanese.

Ah, sorry. I will make a renewal membership application issue.

No need to sorry! We're all volunteers.

I'd like to tag @SomeTr in case they'd like to apply as the new Ukrainian maintainer. Their work is of high quality and frequency. We do the opposite thing when it comes to gender neutrality, but I know my approach is very controversial and I'm in favor of the principle "who does the work, makes the decisions". Unfortunately I did little last year because of health and personal life issues so I think it'd be wiser if SomeTr applied in my place. However, this year I have more time and opportunity, so if they decide not to, I can continue.

Thank you for your appreciation and kind words, @nykula. I should say I started contributing to Ukrainian translation of Forgejo only because it seemed abandoned. Nice to see you're back. I don't like to interfere with someone's work, so go on. I'll try to participate taking into account your decisions. I could have overwritten / rolled back some strings with "gender neutrality things" before I understood the purpose, sorry for that.

I would like to remain on the team! Finishing the translation has been on my mind recently, I’ve just been busy. I’ll take this as an instigating poke to get to work! :)

When I use Forgejo generally, I do see most strings in Esperanto; I do think it’s worth keeping in the UI, as a good chunk of everyday-use chains are translated.

Glad to know that! Can you please file a renewal in this repo issues? There's a built-in template available, it should be enough to express your intention shortly.

I can't work on localization now, so I may be removed from localization team.
