The process described in mozilla-java-bis (http://z42.de/debian/)(...) - works on the 27th sept 2004 with Mozilla 1.7.3; at the end of this process, check that /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so is simlink to /usr/lib/j2re1.4-sun/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so ( and not to /usr/lib/j2se/1.4/jre/plugin/... )
