Country Office

Maldives

[画像:Maldives]

Despite a complex territory of islands, the Maldives has achieved rapid development, with substantial declines in maternal mortality and stronger systems to respond to gender-based violence. Offering support since 1976, and establishing its Country Office in 1994, UNFPA assists in delivering high-quality, equitable reproductive health services and information, while also promoting gender equality by engaging with parliamentarians, religious institutions, civil society and the media.
