Given the situation of COVID-19, we do not organize the contests in Academic Year 2020.
A large number of international students and researchers are attending UTokyo from all over the world. UTokyo would like all students here to take advantage of this environment and experience exchanges with UTokyo members of different nationality, gender, age, language, culture and faith, etc. to their own. To gear up the exchanges on campus, International Education Support Office of Global Campus Initiatives holds a) Event Planning Contest and b) Photo Contest. You can apply for both or either of the contests.

a) 6th Event Planning Contest
3 events are accepted.
・Ski Tour for UTokyo international students: Program content includes ski activities (with international and Japanese students) and the exchange program with local JH students.
・Todai Environment Day: June 5 (Fri),2020 Komaba Campus *Cancelled due to COVID-19
・International Soccer Tournament on Kashiwa Campus: April or May, 2020 Kashiwa Campus *Cancelled due to COVID-19
[Reference] International Education Support Office of The Division of Global Campus Initiatives provides funding for the events up to a budget of around JPY 300,000 (the current proposed funding limit) to the applicants to organize and hold the events by the end of July 2020.

b) 2nd Go Global Center Photo Contest
Application and voting from UTokyo members closed. 14 photos that have passed the preliminary round of the Photo Contest was exhibited at Go Global Center Student Plaza. (Go Global Cenetr Student Plaza has been temporarily closed due to thep pandemic.)

Four student groups received grant funding to plan events that will foster positive relationships between Japanese and international students at the university.
・Ryugakusei (International Student) Ski Tour
International/Japanese students will spend the weekend enjoying winter sports and stay overnight in a mountain lodge.

[What is "GGC"?]
GGC is the Space for international/cultural exchanges newly establieshed in April 2018. Wifi available. You can watch CNN or BBC on a large screen. You can book the spaces for on-campus international/cultural exchanges. Application necessary.
