Name of prize: Juhn and Mary Wada Prize
Object of award: One original article related to epilepsy published in scientific journal during the two years prior to May 31 of the year of award, regardless of single author or multiple authors, and can be in English or Japanese.
Eligibility of candidate: Under 45 years of age at the time of publication of the article, and a full member of the Japan Epilepsy Society for at least one year at the time of deadline of application
Year established: 1978
Number of recipients: For each year, one article each from the clinical category and the basic category
Number of past prize winners: 43
Recipients will receive: A plague and cash award of 100,000円

Object of award: Article published in "Journal of the Japan Epilepsy Society" and "Epilepsy & Seizure", of which the first author is under 40 years of age
Eligibility of candidate: The first author of article; under 40 years of age at the time of publication of the article; and a member of the Japan Epilepsy Society

Object of award: Posters presented by members of the Japan Epilepsy Society at the Annual Congress of Japan Epilepsy Society
Eligibility of candidate: The first presenter should be under 40 years of age at the time of presentation, and a member of the Japan Epilepsy Society.

Number of recipients: Five (one for each of the disciplines of psychiatry, neurosurgery, pediatrics, neurology and basic medical science)

Eligibility of candidate: A member of the Japan Epilepsy Society who is engaged in clinical treatment of epilepsy, and has submitted original article to "Journal of the Japan Epilepsy Society" or "Epilepsy & Seizure" as the first author or has presented for the past two consecutive years at the Annual Congress of Japan Epilepsy Society

Number of recipients: No more than 10 each year

Recipients will receive: An award of 500,000円 as expenditure to attend educational course etc. conducted by the International League Against Epilepsy
Name of prize: JES Scholarship
Object of award: Young researchers in epileptology in the Asian Oceanian Region
Eligibility of candidate: The applicant should fulfill the following conditions: a medical doctor; scheduled to engage in research in a Japanese institution for 6 months or longer; under 35 years of age at the time of application; the receiving research institution in Japan and the study period have been decided at the time of application; submit the curriculum vitae together with a recommendation letter from a member of Japan Epilepsy Society working at the receiving institution.
