Nesting Instinct is a Spark Quest battle in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope , located on the planet Palette Prime. It is part of the side-quest A Dryad's Dream, in which Sweetlopek must find and talk to the Dryad to come to an agreement to fix the Sweetie Pie Honey Snookums Bridge. The Dryad is angry and takes Sweetlopek to her nest, only to find that Darkmess has taken over her nest, and the heroes must stop it in this battle. The objective is to protect the Dryad's nest for 8 turns. If the nest is destroyed, the battle is lost. If the heroes protect the nest for all 8 turns, the battle is won. The Memory for the Dryad is also obtained. The quest then continues.

Layout[edit ]

The general layout of the battlefield is very similar, but not symmetrical. There are three levels of elevation, with two ramps connecting the left and right sides to higher ground. The bottom elevation is where the heroes start, along with the Dryad's nest in the center. There are two Jump Panels at the top left and bottom right of the area respectively. The middle has an area that has a Jump Panel, that can be used to reach the highest elevation with ease. The left and right sides have ramps to reach to the highest elevation another Jump Panel is on the right side. The highest level of elevation has lots of cover, as well as ledges for characters to use as cover. The left side of this elevation has another Jump Panel. 3 Wildclaws appear at the start, one on the bottom elevation, close to the nest, while the other two are at the left and right, on the middle ground. The highest elevation has 2 Flamin' Stooges and a Medician close to each other, behind cover.

Battle[edit ]

During the battle, indestructible Darkmess portals will appear at various location on the battlefield, containing various enemies.

Turn 1[edit ]

No Darkmess portals appear after this turn.

Turn 2[edit ]

Two Darkmess portals appear at the end of this turn, at the top left and middle right area of the battlefield. The middle right portal contains a Wildclaw, while the top left contains a Flamin' Stooge.

Turn 3[edit ]

No Darkmess portals appear during this turn.

Turn 4[edit ]

At the end of this turn, two Darkmess portals appear at the highest elevation, one on the left, the other on the right. The left contains a Flamin' Stooge, while the top right contains a Medician.

Turn 5[edit ]

No Darkmess portals appear at the end of this turn.

Turn 6[edit ]

Two Darkmess portals appear at the end of this turn; one at the bottom level close to the nest, while the other one appears on the middle left. The middle left portal contains a Flamin' Stooge, while the bottom portal contains a Wildclaw.

Turn 7[edit ]

No Darkmess portals appear at the end of this turn.

Turn 8[edit ]

Being the final turn, the battle is won if the nest has at least 1 HP remaining.
