Marrakesh (Arabic: مراكش, Murrākuš; Berber: ⴰⵎⵓⵔⴰⴽⵓⵛ, Meṛṛakec), spelled in-game with the alternate romanization Marrakech, is the fourth-largest city in Morocco, Africa, notable for its status as one of the country's four imperial cities. Along with Athens, Madrid, Mexico City, and Paris, it is one of the five cities in the PC version of Mario is Missing! Luigi has to visit in order to defeat Roy Koopa. Just like all the other cities in Mario is Missing!, Marrakech was invaded by Koopa Troopas, who stole artifacts from various local landmarks: a Cobra from the Jemaa-el-Fna Marketplace, a Gold Globe from the Koutoubia mosque, a Carved Tile from the Saadian Tombs, and a Camel Saddle from the Ourika Camel Market. Without these items, each of the landmarks were forced to close. Luigi rescues the city by finding the stolen artifacts and returning them to their respective landmarks.

In the DOS version of Mario is Missing!, the city's mayor is Mayor I. V. Gottserve. In the CD-ROM Deluxe version, the mayor is instead named Mayor McCarthy — however, while the text of the game calls her this, the corresponding voice line still gives her name as "Mayor I. V. Gottserve".
