The Coin Game is a recurring minigame in the early Wario Land series. It along with the Heart Game acts as a successor to the Casino minigames in Super Mario Land 2 - 6 Golden Coins . In both of its appearances, it can be performed after every level and involves choosing the correct one of multiple objects to multiply the player's coin total, with the incorrect choice instead depleting them.

Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3[edit ]
In Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 , Wario is allowed to play the Coin Game or the Heart Game after every level, but not both. In it, he must pick between two buckets suspended from the ceiling, pulling on a rope to tip them over. Getting a moneybag doubles the amount of coins, while getting a ten-ton weight halves the amount of coins. Wario can do this three times in a row, allowing for as many as eight times the amount of coins he started with or as low as one-eighth. The available coin total maximizes at 999.
Virtual Boy Wario Land[edit ]
In Virtual Boy Wario Land , the game plays basically the same as before, though now Wario can play both it and the Heart Game. This time, Wario is able to choose between three blocks displaying different betting amounts: three, six, and ten, with those being the amount the coins are multiplied by if successful; a wrong choice still only halves the total, regardless of the betting amount. The choices this time are depicted as a bat carrying a party ball, and each betting amounts adds an extra choice: two for the lowest amount, and four for the highest amount, making it less likely to get the correct result. The correct option gives Wario an amount of moneybags equal to the amount of choices, while an incorrect choice causes a crawling skull (or rarely, a huge group of them) to fall on him while the correct option stays behind for a few moments. This time, the maximum amount of coins able to be collected per game is 9999, and getting that amount causes fireworks to go off with a "Perfect!" display.
