The bouncing blade[1] (also described as a spike creature)[2] is an enemy that appears inside the second jar of World 5-2 in Super Mario Advance . It is a pointy light-blue creature that lies on the ground, expanding and contracting repeatedly. If a playable character touches it, they lose a heart on their Health Meter. The bouncing blade cannot be taken out by normal means, as it is immune to the nearby vegetable and POW Block that can be plucked out of the floor and thrown at it.[3] However, if the Starman's effect is applied to the character, the enemy is knocked out just like any other enemy when run into.[4] It is worth no points.
