Collectopedia Guide

Updated:

Unlocked after Chapter 3: Builders of a Legacy, the Collectopedia is a list of collectibles found around Mira inXenoblade Chronicles X. Each region has its own Collectpedia and set of collectibles, and by finding them, you can earn some neat rewards.

This guide lists all of the Collectopedia regions in XCX, including links to their individual pages with checkmarks so you can track your exact progress toward completing them.

This guide is based on information from Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition on Nintendo Switch. While it should primarily be the same for the Wii U version, there could be some differences.

How to Unlock the Collectopedia in Xenoblade Chronicles X

The Collectopedia is automatically unlocked after you complete Chapter 4: Builders of a Legacy in Xenoblade Chronicles X. Although it isn't unlocked from the start of the game, it does retroactively count collectibles you've picked up before you gain access to the feature, so you don't need to worry about picking up collectibles you already found beforehand.

To access the Collectopedia, open the main menu by pressing Plus (+), then navigate to Intel > Collectopedia.

How the Collectopedia Works in XCX

Once unlocked, the Collectopedia lists collectibles found in all five regions of Mira. There are 10 categories in each Collectopedia, each with its set of items to find:

  • Vegetables
  • Fruit
  • Flora
  • Fauna
  • Insects
  • Natural Artifacts
  • Wreckage
  • Relics
  • Xenotech
  • Curios
There are 300 collectibles to find in total across all five regions.

Collectibles in the Collectopedia initially show as a grey "?" square until you find that collectible, after which it turns green. Once a square is green, click on it to turn in the collectible, which increases your total percentage collected for that region.

If you complete a category in a region, you'll earn rewards, including Battle Points (BP) and Holofigures that you can display in the BLADE Barracks.

Each collectible has one of four rarities, listed below from most common to rarest:

  • Common
  • Rare
  • Unique
  • Prime

Lucky Panel

Sometimes, a collectible will be on a Lucky Panel. This means that you'll get 2 BP for turning in that collectible. You can tell which collectibles are on a Lucky Panel when the green square has a flare on it.
