The High Priestess Boss Guide
The location of the final Windrose boss was included on a strange stone tablet in the Swamp. Thankfully, the place isn't swarming with enemies like the previous areas of interest in the Forgotten Relics quest, but there is something much worse waiting for you there—the High Priestess.
You will find the High Priestess inside a large, circular arena surrounded by a towering stone wall. In the center of the clearing sits a strange structure. Interact with it to summon the High Priestess and begin the fight.
How to Beat the High Priestess
The High Priestess is a giant, hideous beast. She has incredible strength and the ability to inflict Blight, making this fight one of the hardest ones in the game. Thankfully, she only has around five moves, most of which you can perfect dodge and memorize to identify the best time to retaliate.
Her most dangerous move is an unblockable charge. You can tell this one's coming since it has the telltale red glint that all unblockable moves have. When you see that glint, get ready to dodge sideways. This might do the most damage and throw you to the ground if you get hit, but it provides you with the best window to retaliate.
The Priestess lies on the ground for a second or so after she performs this move. If you get hit, you will spend that time getting back on your feet. If not, you have the perfect window to target the glowing spots on her back.
The High Priestess is covered in glowing nodules. They are her weak spots. Taking out these nodules deals heavy poise damage, allowing you to down her much more quickly. It is possible to defeat the High Priestess without capitalizing on these weak spots, but the fight is much easier if you focus on them.
In addition to her charge move, she also has some melee moves where she swipes at you with her tree-trunk-like limbs and her tongue. These can be perfectly dodged as well, so focus on that tactic for the best results. Otherwise, rush in, hit twice, then dodge. That should allow you to deal some damage and escape out of the way just in time as long as you're not using a heavy weapon.
The High Priestess has two more 'weapons' that she can use to her advantage. Those are her tail and her massive body. She uses her tail to slam you, so fighting her from behind isn't necessarily a safe tactic. She can also roll on top of you, so keep your distance as much as possible. Only approach to deal damage, then retreat out of harm's way.
Her last and potentially most troublesome attack is a series of acid blobs that she spits at you from across the battlefield. These globs of poison deal Blight damage, and it can easily build up if you're not careful.
One of these attacks probably won't be enough to kill you, but you never know what attack you're going to have to dodge next. If she performs this move in quick succession and you get hit head-on multiple times, it could easily end the battle. To avoid the acid globules, run to the side until the onslaught is over.
When it comes to defeating the High Priestess, you have a few choices. The first is, of course, to destroy the pustules growing on her back. You can also just run in, deal damage, and retreat, slowly chipping away at her health bar. The most critical time of the fight comes when she reveals her true identity. The giant beast is just a cover for the High Priestess, and occasionally, she will pop out of the beast's mouth, leaving herself completely exposed. Rush in and deal as much damage as you can during this phase, and you will eventually fell the High Priestess.
For defeating the High Priestess, you will receive 10x Tears of Sorrow and 1x Charon's Obol. Unfortunately, though, this does not complete the quest. You will have to wait for the full game to release before you can unravel the mysteries of Windrose.
