Fire

Fire can be created naturally when Lava touches flammable blocks, by the player using Flint and Steel or a Fire Charge, as well as by enemies like a Ghast or a Blaze.

When the player lights a fire, it will only burn for a few seconds unless a flammable object is near. It will spread from block to block. These objects are:

• Bookshelves
• Fence
• Leaves
• Wood
• Wooden Planks
• Wooden Stairs
• Wool

Fire will also react with these substances:

• Ice: causing it to melt
• Netherrack: this block will burn forever when lit
• TNT: causing it to explode
• Water: Water extinguishes fire

When in contact with creatures, fire will kill them and result in cooked meat drops.
