Blocks in Minecraft
Thise part of our Minecraft Wiki Guide is dedicated to blocks, because entire world of Minecraft is made up of blocks. Those blocks are essential to gameplay. You can gather them as you wish, using the appropriate tools, and can even create some of them using crafting recipes.
Each block, being a cube, has 6 sides that measure 16 x 16 pixels or 32 x 32 pixels if you have an HD texture pack. They are proportionally equal to one cubic meter.
Most blocks in the game world are non-moving, static blocks. However, Water, Lava, Fire, and Portal blocks are dynamic and each type will move or expand in the right circumstances. Sand and gravel observe the laws of physics and fall when there's air underneath.
