Hi,
I've recently got Half-Life WON installed and (mostly) working via crossover; both 'as installed' from cd (1.0.x release) and with the 1.1.1.0 patch applied.
The compatibility page at https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/crossover/half-life - and frankly most forum posts - don't really help with that scenario as they focus on the Steam release (1.6+).
Before I try and submit HL-WON to the compatibility db I was wondering if there was general support for this idea, or more importantly reasons from the community not to do so.
If all of HL should be covered by the one entry, I will try and dig back through my setup notes and try to add some tips in case it helps the next person.
It depends on whether or not your version is different to the Steam one. If it is, then it may deserve a different DB entry. I won't hurt to submit it. Codeweavers will provide a reply whether it is excepted or not.
You can also just submit a Tip with all the details on setup and other information you currently have in the exist page. That is still helpful. It doesn't really matter what the source is - that usually only matters when you need to put something in a game folder somewhere. Non make the title clear that it is a non-Steam related setup.

Thanks, I'll consider a separate submission, probably later in the week. I feel its substantially different to the version through Steam to warrant its own entry but I can see the argument both ways.

Because most steam-halflife related tips start 'go to steam and do blah', mine will definitely be different :)
For the record, I did submit and it was accepted: https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/crossover/half-life-cd-won
I will endeavour to improve the entry over the coming weeks by testing on the new crossover and adding some tips.
