Dear Folks,
I am very happy with CrossOver, playing Tropico 6, Anno 1404 and Hades on my M1 Mac Studio. I would love to get my favorite game of alle time, Tropico 4 to run, but only the menu works. Everytime I try to get ingame, no 3D is displayed and the game seemingly freezes on menu screens.
Is there is anywhere to solve this?
Thanks!
Hey there! I recently came across your post and decided to give the game a try. I installed it using the Install function on Crossover with the search (needed to update wine config to Windows 10 since Steam wouldn’t install on Win 7). After that, everything ran smoothly. I was able to open a sandbox game and it worked perfectly for the short time I played it. Additionally, the campaign also worked without any issues.
So maybe you didn't used the install function which installed dependencies or not the current version (24.0.5)?
I've tried again but it is not working. I've installed with dependencies and also tried installing DirectX for Modern Games in the same bottle, but to no avail. With Proton on Arch Linux it is very easy, just install protontricks 57690 d3dx9 d3dx10 d3dx11
But I just can't get it to run on Crossover / Mac. It's the same issue. Just can't load ingame from the menu. Surely it just doesn't get the required DX version.
