- Personal info: Hello everyone. This is my second confirmation as a steward. This past year was quite intense off-wiki, during which I took part in several activities in my role as a steward, such as the Annual Planning Community Workshop (March) and NPOV working group, and also in the WUER convening, and, more recently, the Wikimedia Futures Lab. Because of these commitments and, also, because I got promoted to the new role of "parent" last year, my metrics may not have reached the level expected by the community, but this was what I was able to do. I intend to continue serving as a steward wherever I am needed, both off-wiki and on-wiki. ━ Albertoleoncio Who, me? 19:44, 4 February 2026 (UTC) reply

━ Albertoleoncio Who, me? 19:44, 4 February 2026 (UTC) reply

[edit ]- Keep Keep Activity wasn't too high, but I feel like Alberto got a chance to prove himself this year and his work was useful. EPIC (talk) 14:06, 6 February 2026 (UTC) reply

- The reasoning is poor in this one. All I got from the statement is that you're not very active because you're part of some committees (and it's not clear how steward-relevant they are) and ... that's it? Like what did you do during the year and are you planning to be active this year? Leaderboard (talk) 14:32, 6 February 2026 (UTC) reply
- Keep Keep - actions are fine, I'm not worried about low activity unless there are issues with keeping up with standards/expectations for steward behaviour and when to use the tools, or lack of availability to answer questions about actions taken. – Ajraddatz (talk) 14:35, 6 February 2026 (UTC) reply
- Firstly, congrats! Secondly, I am saying Keep Keep. You have been more active on SRG this year. Numberwise there is an increase from last year but that's not what this is all about. I am writing this to a few stewards: Please could I encourage you, if you are adding diffs to your lock reasons, to link specifically to the request, so they are easier to view? SRG is quite a big page, so while I can just Ctrl+F to find the user, this might be more difficult on mobile. --Ferien (talk) 15:11, 6 February 2026 (UTC) reply
(削除) Neutral Neutralaparently the weaklest of the group (削除ここまで), and while the work in the various groups is certainly laudable, my impression is that they are too deep into too many things. Victor Schmidt (talk) 15:14, 6 February 2026 (UTC) reply- Actually, looking back at the 2025 confirmations, the activity was a concern even then, and while things have certainly improved since last year I'm afraid that the poor statement (my concerns align with Leaderboard, mostly about the lack of notes about how they plan on bringing their many responsibilities under one hat) I'm seriously considering turning this one into a remove. Victor Schmidt (talk) 15:21, 6 February 2026 (UTC) reply
- The point is: numbers alone do not tell stories. While closing requests is a central part of the steward role, there are other activities equally inherent to the position that require a different set of skills and are not well reflected in simple metrics. It was primarily in these areas that I focused my time. My expectation is that some responsibilities will decrease over the course of this year; nevertheless, I do not intend to set artificial targets, but rather to continue serving as a steward where I am most useful to the communities and to the movement as a whole. ━ Albertoleoncio Who, me? 23:35, 6 February 2026 (UTC) reply
- Keep weak keep Changing to a keep after some cross-referencing with [1] and a few days of thinking. The raw activity numbers in the statistics is less than what I consider desireable, though I do not currently believe we are low enough that removal is nessesary. - Question Question: What is your role in the NPOV Working Group and how does it relate to steward work? (To my understanding adjudicating content disputes like those involving NPOV is explicitly not inside the stewards remit per this line in the stewards page on meta: Stewards are also not arbitrators or mediators; to resolve a conflict on a small project, please attempt local resolution, and file a request for comment on Meta-Wiki if local resolution cannot be achieved?) -- Sohom (talk) 01:08, 7 February 2026 (UTC) reply
- It relates to an explicit non-technical steward responsibility: Working with Wikimedia Foundation staff as the first point of contact with the community, and in this case acting between the community and the Foundation on cross-wiki and structural issues. The working group focuses on policies and systems, analyzing how NPOV are structured and implemented across projects and how volunteers with extended rights can be better supported. From a steward perspective, unclear or uneven local policies can surface as cross-wiki problems, and contributing steward experience to a process aimed at improving that policy environment is fully consistent with the role. ━ Albertoleoncio Who, me? 02:06, 7 February 2026 (UTC) reply
- I feel like your role in the NPOV working groups the way you are describing it, feels much more akin to what the U4C's role is on the project. For what it's worth, I do recognize that acting as a point of contact with the community is one of the stewards jobs. I just worry that unlike the way you've phrased it I feel like in a lot of the cases, your work in these events might be orthogonal to your steward role. [To give a example, I went to WCNA as a administrator represented enwiki admins/contributors in discussions with the WMF -- but I would not consider it necessarily a part of my role as a admin on enwiki]. I do think you are doing good work, I'm just not sure about the way you frame your presence at events as steward work is necessarily the right framing. Sohom (talk) 05:16, 7 February 2026 (UTC) reply
