Hi, 1997kB . I hope you well. Can you help me or handle my Global rename case. mostly I'm active on English Wikipedia. I wanted to using pseudonym name because I'm feel not safe on Wikipedia. Some of time I'm nomination / AFD vote participate on en Wikipedia after than some people threat me. I strongly decided that i needed to change my name. Hi, I'm planning to change my username for privacy reasons. My question is, is there any limit like number of contributions? My current global contributions is about 80,000, and I'm an administrator in Indonesian Wikipedia, hence the high number. I'm asking about this since there was a user which got their global rename process stuck because they had 100,000 global contributions at the time. Hey @Phjtieudoc:, You need to request at SRGP and for the information you will get rename permission for all wiki's not just Vietnamese. I did not request to to change to neither Aghahremanifar, nor FelisObscura! I requested to change my username from Aghahremanifar to Aesuithiel. Please, change my username to Aesuithiel. I have checked and It's not taken. This is the only request I have ever submitted on "Steward requests/Username changes". But, after it marked "not done" I submitted the same request again, and you reverted it. Hello, I would like to change my Wikipedia username from Shobhasv to Shobha. I checked if the username is available and I found out that 'user:Shobha' (https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Shobha) started their account on simple.wikipedia.org five years ago in 2015. But there have been no edits under their name. It looks like it's a sleeper account. Considering the dormant nature of this account, is it possible for me to have this username instead?

Hi Shobhasv, yes it is possible to take this username if owner of this account doesn't oppose after notification from renamer (likely they not gonna respond, but just to make it clear). Hi! I have a question, about two types of situations that can be sometimes seen in a Queue.

• User has 0 contributions and requests a rename. Should we proceed or let him know to open up another account? Should we only proceed if a user wants to change his nickname because it contains private information?
• User has a small number of contributions (less than 100-200, most of them have their accounts open for at least a few years) and requests vanishing. En.wiki says here that courtesy vanishing is reserved for users in good standing and that it is discretionary and may be refused. Hi Nadzik,

• I see no issues granting renames to 0 contribution accounts. Creating a new account takes similar resources to getting renamed. See FAQs. Furthermore some users only create account for Wikipedia mobile apps and use it to sync list of article they want to read and in such situation creating a new account will lead loss of that synced data.
• First of all, low contributions doesn't mean that account is not in good standing. Good standing can be interpreted as no active block or series of blocks or user history of abusing rename. I don’t edit here on Meta at all, so I don’t want my account to consume 2 extra pages. @शब्दशोधक: Userpage on meta is similar to what you have on Wiktionary. Just make sure it always follow inclusion policy. About the redirects, talk redirects will not be deleted because it was your former username and is that sign is used on many pages. I will delete userpage redirect of old username if you can confirm that you want to delete your current userpage. If you are planning to put information on it then delete will be unnecessary. Hello, 1997kB. I created a speedy deletion request because I couldn't see any information about Wikipedia other than the central auth at the bottom of the page. I know that such pages are deleted by admins per policy. Tulsi Bhagat previously deleted this page for the same reason. @Uncitoyen: (talk page stalker) This current version at least is more focused on the contributions than the previous one deleted (I seen the previous one - that's marginally G7 but I won't G7 that either). At least if they write something about wiki (like the contributions), that's usually fine for meta. Might want to bring this to RFD, it's more suitable for RFD discussion but to be honest, if the concern is the huge chunk of text, let's remove it leaving the SUL there. @Camouflaged Mirage: It seemed to me that the user is more self-explanation than explanation its contributions on Wikipedia. I thought it was the same because I can't fully see the previous deletion. The English message looks a bit like an autobiography. My concern is that pages like this will be deleted and this page not be deleted. Maybe the user better edit its page a little more? @Uncitoyen: Yeah, different admins will have different yardstick, no doubt some may delete this as G7. I had done some trimming and hope now the page is okay for you. Just trim whatsoever you need, if the user reverts, bring to RFD, that's my way of doing it. Thanks for the effort in patrolling userpages.
