Hi Rachit143, First of all please stop removing those tags from articles, it's considered disruptive and might lead a block to your account. And about the notability, I don't think that subject is notable enough as the sources you added aren't reliable, which is necessary for establishing notability. Hi! Regarding the filter conflict when renaming users in ukwiki. I don't know how to solve the issue. Here is some info I gathered after some investigation:

• The filter hasn't been changed since January 2, 2015
• The filter looks for certain rights in user groups and global user groups
• "Global renamer" for some reason is not a global user group (or doesn't display as such). It seems to be a local user group on Meta-wiki, but with a global scope, which is why it displays in no way on other local wikis (anymore?), except when you go to a user's SUL page (or I'm simply not aware of where to look for it).
• The global renamers started to trigger the filter on December 14, 2018, and you weren't the only one, so that must be an approximate time when something somewhere had changed, and I neither know what it was, nor how to fix all this.

Btw, the filter triggers on renaming the existing pages, not the users and is used as an antivandal tool.

Do you have any info on this? Or should I forward this issue somewhere else? Maybe some discussion page for the global renamers or something? --Piramidion 22:19, 6 January 2019 (UTC) Reply

Hey Piramidion, Thanks for looking at the issue. Yeah global renamer is a local group on metawiki and you can only check at the SUL page or metawiki or here's a list of renamers: Template:List of global renamers. This started happening due to some changes in Abuse Filter extension and those were implemented on 14 December, you can find more about the issue at T212082. So for a temporary fix you can stop triggering it on rename edit summary or for each renamers (take the names from list). Hi I have been ordered to change my user name - it has been flagged for advertisting, etc. I can and need to do this because I would still like to contribute to wikipedia. I understand the name may be too easily associated with the below website. The process is not simple, and i cannot navigate or get to the correct section to amend, so I am asking for help please. Why can you not include references/citations to articles that appear on the website I look after - http://www.asianculturevulture.com - we often get information which can/verify/correct wikipedia entries - because we speak to the source itself and they tell us point black... 'what is on wikipedia is wrong'. This is mostly factual information that can be verified and often appears in the stated article without any reference to the error on wikipedia. Hi, 1997kB. Yes, we do block people for inappropriate username even if they have no contributions, though in some circumstances our policy promotes more tolerance towards users whose home wiki differs from ours. For example, confusing usernames like ZJUn5XDLfqSve6yO are not allowed, but usually users coming from other projects are exempted. Beyond the fact that I am prone to unblock the user on it.wiki as soon as possible, how do we deal with this rename now that it has already gone through? The antispoof check should have prevented the renamer from accepting it due to unassigned character ☀, and a rename to "fiat lux" had to be prevented as well because the username "FiatLUX" is already in use. If you remember, you participated in the 2019 Community Wishlist Survey, including the discussion for reviving "Crosswatch" to allow for cross-wiki watchlists (Community Wishlist Survey 2019/Watchlists/Revive Crosswatch tool).

I sent you this MassMessage because I wanted to let you know that I have made a user script to make accessing your watchlists on different wikis easier, since for now that wishlist item has not been actioned.

The way it works is that, on any wiki, when you look at your watchlist, there is a button labeled "CA" that takes you to the CentralAuth page for you. There, when looking at your own information, each link to a wiki ("meta.wikimedia.org", "www.wikidata.org", "de.wikipedia.org", etc.) is changed so that it links to your watchlist on that wiki.

If you are interested in using it, just add mw.loader.load('//meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:DannyS712/Watchlist.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript'); to your global javascript page. This imports the code at m:User:DannyS712/Watchlist.js.

Hello @BiosigTechnologies: per English Wikipedia username policy — Usernames that are simply names of companies or groups are not permitted. However, usernames are acceptable if they contain a company or group name but are clearly intended to denote an individual person, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", "WidgetFan87", etc. So you need to choose a username that follows the policy and request here. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 00:19, 2 July 2019 (UTC) Reply

Hi Worldbot11111. As the admin told you, Wikipedia doesn't allow usernames that implies the user is a bot (without the bot permission). @Catherine Laurence: Hello, In such cases I firstly check if it was actually someone's username before (looks like it was not in this case) and is the conflicted user is active on same wiki or not. Hi there,

Lets say someone has made edits on Spanish wikipedia and English wikipedia with the same username. Is it possible to request a name change for the local English wikipedia so that they show up under a different username? I realized too late that I would like to keep my edits on both wiki projects separately for privacy reasons.
