The Wikimedia Foundation is a non-profit organization that hosts thirteen free-knowledge projects and supports the communities who create and curate their content.
Movement resources
Are you a Wikimedia online contributor or affiliate member looking for support from the Foundation? Have a look at some of the resources we offer.
Wikimedia Foundation activities
The Foundation publishes information about our activities and goals throughout the year.
Wikimedia Foundation governance
Our activities are overseen by a Board of Trustees, composed of members elected by the Wikimedia affiliate and project communities, as well as subject matter experts. We work to make governance information available to both the movement and the public.
Wikimedia projects
We host thirteen free knowledge projects that are created, edited and verified by hundreds of thousands of volunteers around the world.
Wikimedia affiliates
We recognize affiliate organizations – chapters, thematic organizations, and user groups – around the globe who contribute to strengthening the Wikimedia movement's free knowledge mission.
