Grants:Conference Grants/Timeline

As a general guideline, we request any applicant to speak with the Conference and Events Team prior to starting any work on their proposal (including the community engagement survey) as mentioned here.

Once a valid submission has been made, here’s what the review process typically looks like:

• Eligibility checks, staff and compliance review, community review. During this time, applicants schedule a call with the reviewing team to present their proposal and budget (3 weeks)
• Applicants make adjustments to their proposal where needed (1 week)
• Conference Committee reviews (2 weeks)
• Final proposal refinements following committee feedback (2 weeks)
• The funding decision is posted within 8 weeks of submission.
• After approval, monthly check-in calls will be scheduled with the Movement Communications team.

Once a grant is approved for successful applicants, the following steps take place before funds are available:

• Issuing Grant Agreement
• Agreement review and signatures
• Funds transfer to grantee or fiscal sponsor

Note: This process may take several weeks and up to one month. Hence, funds are not immediately available after approval, which means organizers are advised to factor this into their timelines and should plan accordingly for venue booking, vendor contracts and travel arrangements.
