Portsmouth Wikimedia Meetup Number 4

The Brighton meetup crowd are going on tour! We are experimenting with taking the meetup to different locations, starting with Portsmouth.

People of all ages and all Wikimedia projects are welcome. Complete newbies also welcome! Please also invite any local Wikimedia people you know (or have had wiki dealings with) – spread the word!

No fixed agenda. We will probably have lunch at the pub then (if the weather is reasonable) go for a walk and take some photos around Portsmouth. If you have suggestions for places to go or things to see, or subjects you want to discuss, feel free to add them below:

• Portsmouth War Memorial is just round the corner
• Portsmouth Museum might be a good option if the weather is cold or wet.
• Matt (Hassocks5489) will put together a list of listed and locally listed buildings to potentially photograph. A Wikipedia article "List of locally listed buildings in Portsmouth" has potential...

Meetups are casual social events. Anyone is welcome to join for as long or as little as they like. If you're joining later and want to catch up with us on our walk, you can email Harry.

The Isambard Kingdom Brunel is a Wetherspoons pub, named for the 19th Century engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel who was born less than half a mile away. Wifi and food are available.

The pub is on the corner of Guildhall Walk and King Henry I street, opposite Guildhall Square (note it is not on Isambard Brunel Road). It is about 5 minutes walk from Portsmouth and Southsea station, and 15 minutes walk from Portsmouth Harbour station, the main bus station ("The Hard") and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

There are two car parks on Alec Rose Lane about 2 minutes walk away from the pub, details are on the Portsmouth City Council website. There is also a Park & Ride service.
