Per gUser search result, most of the usernames that contain "肏" are offensive username. Some of the accounts were not just created in zhwiki and also in jawiki etc. Also "肏" this word means fuck in Chinese. I would like to propose that we blacklist article creating for pages with a title including "online betting" for any account that is not autoconfirmed. @MarcoAurelio: Pinging the person who added it onto the blacklist, I saw that you added "autistic" onto the title blacklist here and I'm very interested to know why you did that because it's not a bad word and I don't see any reason to why it should be on there. On the Title blacklist log, it says that it's an abusive username. Actually, the word "autistic" is not at all abusive, it's the word that is used to refer to a person who has autism. Pkbwcgs (talk) 17:34, 20 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello @Pkbwcgs. I agree that the word is not abusive, but sadly it was used in the past to create abusive usernames (only new account creations bearing that word are being prevented). @Pkbwcgs: Like lots of attack names, the LTAs will pick an admin or other prominent user, and then throw whatever insults they can in usernames. This is blocked for being used abusively and insultingly, rather than as an abusive name.  — billinghurst sDrewth 14:01, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

Pages with this name are opened especially on trwiki, enwiki (on draft namespace), eswiki, dewiki, afwiki, simplewiki etc. global search and deleted if necessary. Also, as far as I see recently, the pages with this name are opened on medium and small wikis. I deleted them on small wikis or marked them for speedy deletion on other wikis. But the users continue to open it persistently. Can you add it to the blacklist to avoid this cross-wiki spam situation? Regards. --Uncitoyen ^talk 11:11, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

@Uncitoyen: Adding vanity article names to title blacklist is not that effective as they will just do their variations which requires more vigilance (javad Ramzeani being our usual problem). We can go there in the end, though find that other means are typically better, eg. just deletion, local protection, abuse filters, ip blocks. I find threats quite useful, telling them that we will be assigning them into a personal blacklist of hell. Thanks @Billinghurst:, let's see the effect of the global abusefilter. I can see few url that they are added persistently. One is the url of his social media account, other two urls are websites that share news about him [1] [2] I can't accept these as a reliable source for edit/create the page (if I edit), but there are many articles where the second url is used. Some LTA have registered user names with this character trying to impersonate others (for example, this one). This should be disallowed in user names. Other similar characters include:

• U+FFA0 ᅠ HALFWIDTH HANGUL FILLER
• U+115F ᅟ HANGUL CHOSEONG FILLER
• U+1160 ᅠ HANGUL JUNGSEONG FILLER

Hi, I’m HelenDegenerate, a user from the English Wikipedia. I’m here to request a username to be added to the blacklist. Recently, editors (including me) have been bogged down with vandalism accounts entitled "I can make my t******** go up and down". Some of them may have been the same person, some may not. I’m proposing that we add the phrase "up and down" to the blacklist, so that any of those weird accounts will automatically be reported by a bot. It’s very tiresome, having to revert the damaging edits and then have to report it to UAA. Adding "up and down" to the blacklist would save us a lot of time— especially our poor admins who have to block all the accounts. @HelenDegenerate: There are no logs for title blacklist, so essentially it will stop the creation based on that string. If you are wanting to track, then you would be best to build an abuse filter, and have it flag on account creation on the wiki. If you need a hand over there, then plese ping me, I have the rights to do so. Note that the typical response from an LTA to a title blacklist block is to change the variation of the username, rather than to change their behaviour. Because the title blacklist just stops the action and tells the user, and that there are no logs, then the user will just keep trying variations with impunity of no detection until they get through the restriction.  — billinghurst sDrewth 13:58, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

There's a regular x-wiki vandal who's usernames always usually have the string "Juris" in the username. While I've reverted some of his x-wiki spam, wouldn't it just be easier if we prevented username creation with this string. I've managed to drive him away on na.wikipedia by setting an edit filter, but I'm not an admin on all the wiki's where all Juris vandalises. Also, all of his edit summaries usually have the summary "scobedos". Reverting this guy's work is sometimes tiresome, and I've basically given up after he's left na.wikipedia. No, for a couple of reasons. It is going to cut out so many productive user names that are reasonably using that part of the string. Plus it is typically ineffective as Juris one minute and Jursi the next, using IP OPs not long after and bounce around. Can someone add Ali Mahmoud Al Suleiman or Ali Al-Suleiman to the filter? It is a crosswiki-spam that is being constantly recreated, including on dewiki, eswiki and svwiki. EPIC (talk) 06:01, 28 June 2021 (UTC)

@EPIC: These wikis all have local title blacklists and it is best managed locally if it is a handful of wikis, especially if it ever needs removal or adjustment, plant a request at the respective "mediawiki talk:title-blacklist". Just throwing into blacklist without understanding consequences is problematic. The point is a username that contains 69 is more likely to vandalize than a username than a user who chooses something else. Even when a user acts in good faith, the connotation associated with 69 is inappropriate for Wikimedia. A a s i m 19:29, 3 September 2021 (UTC)

A listing will not prevent any vandalism for someone intent on vandalising, they will either edit as an IP address, or choose another username to vandalise. That is not a suitable reason for me to impose a global blacklisting on request.    Declined @GeoffreyT2000: There is next to no value in that sort of addition to the blacklist where a person is creating accounts, as they will just move to dropping the g or the n or some other combination. More effective for enWP to write an abuse filter that blocks the user and IP address for 31 hour for someone trying to create that account phrase locally. @Billinghurst: It is part of Donald Trump's name also would be blacklisted, any hateful words such as "KKK, kike, white power" and other terms are related to white supremacy.
