Global rollback for Ebe123

Status: Not done

I'm a member of the Small Wiki Monitoring Team, SWMT for short. I think that GR will be good since I use revert alot correctly. I have rollback on en.wiki and sysop permissions at Wikimedia Incubator. ~~EBE123~~ talk Contribs 21:00, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

The nomination was in error, I would like it closed. ~~EBE123~~ talk Contribs 21:51, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Not done Closed per user request (withdrawn) -- Quentinv57 (talk) 15:17, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

Global rollback for Katarighe

Status: Not done

I'm currently a a member of the Small Wiki Monitoring Team in June 2011. I want the Global Rollback feature and its good since I use revert many articles correctly. I have reverted many edits on the English Wikipedia. Mohamed Aden Ighe 15:10, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

Afaik you're not active in crosswiki countervandalism, I wonder if you'd better ask for rollback on en.wiki. --Vituzzu 15:17, 10 September 2011 (UTC) *
Not done per comments above. --Mercy 21:15, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Global rollback for Striker

Status: Done

I monitor #cvn-sw connect almost everyday and I would like GR to revert counterproductive edits more easily. I already have rollback at my home wiki as part of the sysop toolkit. Although my account isn't fully unified yet, I'd prefer to keep the activity on SWMT while waiting for the requested usurpations at enwiki and commons (instead of making rename requests). A rename is currently a complicated process in which progress I will be unable to work on crosswiki countervandalism so I hope not to have to do it.

Thank you for your time and consideration. --Striker talk 19:23, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

Global rollback for Coekon

Status: Not done

Hello everyone. I am a rollbacker from english, chinese and simple english wikipedia respectively. I have sufficient experiences on anti vandlism. Therefore, I want to get the gobal permission then, i can assistance in all wikimedia project. thank you--Coekon 22:35, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Oppose - Stop going around to projects collecting flags that you don't need. I've seen your recent requests at commons, and like there you have no need for global rollback. User rights are for people that need them, not people who want to show them off. Ajraddatz (Talk) 22:37, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
It should be noted that this is the second time that this user has requested global rollback, see here for the first. Ajraddatz (Talk) 22:39, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
  • Oppose: sorry, I don't think you currently have sufficient experience. By the way, your rollbacker flag on simple.wikipedia was granted just today. Please gain more experience in fighting (cross-wiki) vandalism and try helping by patrolling small wiki's in the irc channel #cvn-sw connect before requesting tools like this. Regards, Mathonius 22:44, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
  • Oppose no Absolutely no idea what the job entails and I wonder if the candidate knows the differences between local and global rollback. Also, no where near enough experience xwiki. fr33k man 06:57, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
Not done per above. --Mercy 08:10, 30 September 2011 (UTC)

Requests for global sysop permissions

Global sysop for Mathonius

Status: Done

Hello, I'd like to apply for global sysop access. I have been a member of the Small Wiki Monitoring Team since June 23th 2011 and was granted global rollback privileges two months ago (here). As an administrator on nl.wikipedia (since October 2010; here) and meta (since August 2011; here), I've gained experience in using these tools and I understand the corresponding responsibilities. Global sysop access would greatly improve my ability to help protect and maintain the smaller wiki's. I understand the role global sysops are supposed to fulfill (the local communities are key and consensus may not be overrided) and I will always respect that. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. I'm able to communicate in both Dutch and English, and (with difficulty) in French and German. Thanks for your consideration, Mathonius 05:19, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

No comments in last two days, and obvious consensus. So Done, use it wisely Mathonius. Matanya 11:31, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
To quote the intro above: The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration no less than two weeks. This discussion seems to be also ignored. Nice to see that there is always such a rush. -Barras 11:40, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
I understand your concerns. Being controversial, however much, does not appeal to me at all... if possible, I would like my current global sysop access removed and this request continued. Mathonius 12:01, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
removed per request. Matanya 12:17, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
Done. Matanya 04:43, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks a lot! Mathonius 06:50, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Global sysop for SPQRobin

Status: Done

Hi, I'm a bureaucrat/admin on Incubator, member of the language committee and MediaWiki software developer. I'd like to have global adminship so I can do maintenance work. For example, in a few weeks MediaWiki 1.18 will be deployed which includes a conversion script I made for Inuktitut, so I can clean up the Inuktitut Wikipedia (iuwiki). I also improved RTL support, so it would be useful if I could correct MediaWiki:Common.css pages on wikis that need updating. I also often import content when new wikis are created, so these rights can be useful as well then (now, temporary admin rights are given when needed). It can also be useful to delete a few redundant MediaWiki namespace pages on small wikis (there are lots of them, but deleting all of them apparently would need community consensus). My main intention is not fighting vandalism, but when I come across vandalism, I'll certainly delete/revert it. Thank you, SPQRobin (talk) 13:53, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Done. clear support. Matanya 00:19, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
Thank you! SPQRobin (talk) 02:32, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

Global sysop for Hosiryuhosi

Status: Not done

Hello, everyone. I'm currently Global rollbacker, and active in SWMT. I'm sysop of japanese wikipedia now. I reverted many vandalism/spam edits. And I did some block/lock request to stewards on IRC. When I have global sysop flag, I can help to stewards and editors by using local block to vandalism/spammer on wiki where GS right is usable . Thank you.--Hosiryuhosi 06:32, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Requests for global IP block exemption

Global IP block exempt for Karpouzi

Status: Done

User:Shizhao (talk) has decided that the StarHub customer IP address I use is an open anonymous proxy. No idea why. Can I get an exemption? I have years of trouble free editing on my accounts. Thanks Karpouzi 15:13, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

What is the address? Ruslik 19:37, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
202.156.14.10 is recorded here. Whatismyip.com gives 218.186.19.249 Karpouzi 04:06, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
I changed the block to anonymous only. Ruslik 13:18, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks Karpouzi 03:36, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

Global IP block exempt for Striker

Status: Not done

Sometimes I am affected by a local block applied to 189.27.0.0/16 (talkcontribsblockxwiki-contribs gblock ST lwcheckuser ), wrongly identified as open proxy, on some projects. It happened now when I tried to revert this edit. I'm requesting this to not take effect of some undue blocks for supposed open proxies anymore. Striker talk 14:31, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Global IP block exemption only works against global blocks. If you're affected by a local block (as seems to be the case here), you would need to apply for an exemption locally. Jafeluv 14:58, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
I thought this would solve the issue. That IP range Striker talk 15:24, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Comment Comment If the option Bypass IP blocks, auto-blocks and range blocks (ipblock-exempt) was checked at this page, global IPBE would work against those local IP blocks. I don't know if you're allowed to make such change or are willing to discuss about it, however I don't see an issue for it to not be done. The accounts with the global flag will still be able to be directly blocked if a local community decides to do so. Striker talk 16:47, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
The option of overriding local blocks was never in that group. We created this group for users having problems with global blocks. You should seek local IP-block-exemptions. Annoying, yes. -- Marco Aurelio 18:24, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
