Cook is a Copy Ability in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby Super Star .
Physical Appearance[ ]
Cook Kirby wears a chef's toque; in Kirby Star Allies , a yellow star-shaped pin can be seen on the right side. The pot that he uses to cook enemies is yellow-orange and is set on top of a brazier; starting in Super Smash Bros. Brawl , the pot has a fork and a spoon on it. In the games, Kirby uses a black-handled frying pan and a red-handled ladle or spatula, whereas in Kirby: Right Back at Ya! he only uses a red-handled frying pan.
Games[ ]
Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra [ ]
Cook focuses on sending onscreen enemies and projectiles into giant pot and transforming them into food items; due to this, it has no moves that deal actual damage. Unlike most Copy Abilities, this can only be used once, and does not have a Helper. In the situation that there are no enemies or projectiles to throw into the pot, the ability will not be expended. Cook is obtained from the Chef Kawasaki mid-boss. As with other limited-use abilities, time stops when Kirby takes out his cooking pot and cooks his victims, then resumes when the move is finished, signaled by him raising his arms.

Kirby & The Amazing Mirror [ ]
Cook behaves similarly to its appearance in Kirby Super Star. It does not stop time when active, but Kirby remains invincible for its duration; any enemies that are onscreen when the move is activated are sucked into the pot, but any enemies that appear onscreen afterward can move freely. Depending on the enemy type that gets sucked into the pot, the food item that comes out will be different; regular enemies drop standard food items that heal 1 vitality, large enemies drop meat that heals 3 vitality, and defeated mid-bosses drop a Maxim Tomato that heals all vitality. Cook is obtained from the Cookin enemy, as well as Pranks who wield frying pans.

Kirby Star Allies [ ]
Cook now has an extra move similar to Crash's Super Nova and Mike's Encore. Friends can also hop into the pot if no enemies are around to drop additional food items. Cook is obtained from Chef Kawasaki, who is also its Friend Helper, despite Cook not having a Helper in Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra; this makes it the only limited-use ability to have a Helper.
Using Cook Pot and Souper Supper will also spawn certain food items depending on the objects that are sucked into the pot. While Kirby is cooking, he will hum a short version of the Kirby Dance jingle.

Food items from Friends[ ]
When using the Cook Potluck/Supper Party Friend Ability, certain food items correspond to a Copy Ability and that ability's Helper. This is also true for Dream Friends and when Kirby does not have an ability.
In Kirby: Right Back at Ya! [ ]
Cook Kirby in the anime
In Kirby: Right Back at Ya! Cook is changed into a full-fledged ability with a variety of uses. It is typically acquired from inhaling Chef Kawasaki's frying pan, though other kitchen utensils have often been substituted in lieu of the frying pan not being available for some reason or another.
Cook Kirby's main weapon is a frying pan with many different uses. Often he uses it as a shield, deflecting attacks. However, he can cause it to grow to massive size and use it to fry large enemies. He can also cause any kind of food to spontaneously appear from it.
In The Big Taste Test, Kirby acquires the Cook ability when he is facing Popon, who disguised themself as Chef Shiitake, and defeats the monster by enlarging the frying pan, scooping the monster onto the pan, and throwing toward the sun; the frying pan orbits the sun, frying the Popon, whose meat King Dedede performs a taste test on after the frying pan and the fried Popon return to Castle Dedede. In A Recipe for Disaster, Kirby also uses it when fighting the Cobgoblin, where he shears off the Cobgoblin's corn kernels; in The Meal Moocher against Garnie; in A Chow Challenge against Ebifryer, where he deflects the Ebifryer's fire beams; and in Hunger Struck against Fryclops. However, despite his strength as Cook Kirby, Kirby has failed a few times with the ability; in The Hot Shot Chef / A Spice Odyssey, Monsieur Goan overpowers Kirby and strips him of the ability, and in Combat Kirby, Heavy Lobster's mechanical nature means it cannot be cooked, despite its resemblance to a culinary delicacy.
Transformation Sequence[ ]
In the transformation sequence, Kirby spins and forms his hat. Then a frying pan appears from off-screen and flies into Kirby's face, slamming into him in the process. Kirby then removes the pan, holds it, and poses dramatically.
In the Super Smash Bros. series [ ]
Cook Kirby in Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Kirby's Final Smash in Super Smash Bros. Brawl is Cook Kirby. When activated, Kirby pulls out his pot and utensils, and can suck up all items, projectiles, and players into the pot. Players that get captured by this move take 38% damage from the cooking before being shot out of the pot. Any items and projectiles sucked into the pot will be transformed into other items. Kirby's Final Smash can be dodged by using invincibility or being far away from Kirby; however, the more damage an opponent has, the harder it is to avoid.
Cook Kirby gets a trophy as do all the Final Smashes. It also appears as a sticker in Super Smash Bros. Brawl using its design from Kirby Super Star . Usable by any character, this sticker increases Flinch Resistance by 140.

- Cook appears in the cover of the 18th volume of Kirby of the Stars: The Story of Dedede Who Lives In Pupupu .
- Cook is the second most commonly seen Copy Ability in Kirby: Right Back at Ya! with seven appearances in total.
- Because it is a one-use ability, Cook is one of the few Copy Abilities in Kirby Super Star that can only be obtained through inhaling in the Milky Way Wishes sub-game. Because of that, it is also one of the only Copy Abilities without a Copy Essence Deluxe.
- Cook is the only limited-use ability in Kirby Star Allies to have a Copy Essence, due to the fact it has a Helper.
- Cook's keychain from Kirby Super Star Ultra is mistakenly referred to as Chef Kirby in Kirby: Triple Deluxe . This may be because various names that feature "Cook" in the Japanese versions are localized as "Chef."
- In promotional artwork for the real-life Kirby Café restaurant chain in Japan, Kirby is depicted with a chef's hat somewhat reminiscent of his appearance while using the Cook ability.
- Cook Kirby's updated appearance in Kirby Star Allies, with the star on the hat, could be inspired by his appearance in Kirby Café.
