The Compact Star is an Air Ride Machine that appears in Kirby Air Ride .

Physical Appearance[ ]

As its name suggests, the Compact Star resembles a smaller, yellow-green Warp Star with compacted points and smaller thrusters on its backside.

Kirby Air Ride and Kirby Air Riders [ ]

The Compact Star only available in City Trial, in which all players start off with. Players not riding a machine when City Trial ends will compete in the Stadium match in a Compact Star. It has excellent charging speed, braking, acceleration, and handling, but the second worst top speed (after the Rocket Star) and below average gliding abilities, offense, and weight, as well as the lowest HP in the game. It's generally recommended that riders attempt to find a better vehicle in City Trial for the Stadium event, but a Compact Star powered up with Patches is able to provide an all-around passable performance in certain events.

Etymology[ ]

The Compact Star is named after a vehicle size class, the compact car, sometimes simply called a "compact." It refers to a small type of automobile, referencing the Compact Star's small frame.

Its Japanese name, "Light Star," is also named after a small vehicle size class, the 軽自動車 (kei-jidōsha), or "light vehicle," also known as a "kei car." This classification is technically smaller than the "compact" classification.

Trivia[ ]

The Compact Star can be considered the opposite of the Bulk Star, both in terms of stats and names. In English, their names reflect their size: Compact Star is small and compact while Bulk Star is big and bulky. In Japanese, their names reflect their weight, with Compact Star being "light" and Bulk Star being "heavy."
