Posted by socialnicheguru on October 31, 2022 at 11:45am

Hi,

I am reaching out to see if there are any front or back end devs who love Drupal as much as me who might want to team up.

I have developed a platform but need a tech co-founder who wants to help on a social impact platform

Drop me a note and let's talk more.

I am in San Francisco, Boston, and Atlanta.

You can be anywhere on the planet if the fit is right.

Workflow vs Content_moderation vs Workbench moderation

Posted by rop on January 25, 2018 at 5:45pm

I was wondering if we could list the main differences between the workflow module the content_moderation module in core and the workbench moderation module and each of their benefits?

Since all are actively being developed but also, as I understand, all are sort of trying to implement the same thing.

Drupal Database Development

The percona-query-digest tool is excellent at tracking down queries that kill performance. The queries can be re-written on modified schemas with better indexes and you're golden. Once that's done you need to institure some healthy happy ways to avoid the problem continuing to recur through a little education and some development routines.

Posted by npercival on September 2, 2014 at 5:41pm

Hi,
I have create a site with a Workflow using the Workflow 7.x-2.4 Field module and am sending email using Rules. I cannot seem to find a way to use the Rules module to access the Workflow Comment to include this in the email. I hope I am missing something obvious and this is easy. Any help would be appreciated.

Best D7 workflow approach for later D8 upgrade

Posted by bkudrle on January 3, 2014 at 10:10pm

I have been away from the Drupal community for a while and am just getting caught up again.

We need to integrate a workflow of an approval process for node and document revisions for our content in an existing Drupal 7 application. So I was wondering how best to "future-proof" our upgrade so that it will have the simplest upgrade to Drupal 8 later. In other words, it looks like there are several approaches that we could use for implementing workflow of the approval process of our content. These include:

  • Workbench modules - https://drupal.org/project/workbench

    Workflow and Rules

    Posted by figtree_development on December 19, 2012 at 4:24pm

Hopefully this is just my inexperience.. I had TAC and Workbench installed, Since workbench handled the state changes but didn't handle if a user could see the content, I decided to see what other options there were.

I have now installed workflow, TAC and rules. I am using TAC to control if content is seen by roles. I have created three workflow states. Draft, Needs Review, Published.

I have created rules so that if a node changes from published to needs review, then an action of un-publishing that node should be performed. But when I perform this action nothing is happens.

    Tracking published date in Core

Posted by jstoller on November 25, 2012 at 7:14pm

Have you ever wished core would track the date/time a node was published, instead of just when it was created and modified? Well, now is your chance! There is a patch in the issue queue, but it needs review and time is running out before feature freeze. Please get involved.

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in workflow_access_node_access_records()

Posted by yingliz on October 15, 2012 at 5:49pm

Hi, I would like to get help from this group. I created a six-state workflow via the workflow module (7.x-1.0) and Workflow access (7.x-1.0). Now, I have a problem with the transitions between some states. The state can go from the current to next state, but cannot be changed back to the previous state. I got this error message:
Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in workflow_access_node_access_records()
    or
Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in node_access_write_grants()

Workflow: how to send email to previous editor of a node

Posted by quindio on July 27, 2012 at 8:46pm

I am running Drupal 6 and the workflow module and I need to send an email to the last
user that edited a page when it get rejected so they know that they need to look at the
page and fix the problem. I also have the Token module running and it provides several
special tokens to use but there is not a previous editor token. I tried these tokens:
[workflow-current-state-updating-user-uid] uid of last state changer
[workflow-current-state-updating-user-mail] email of last state changer

These token give you the current updater that happens to be the user that is logged in

Time to make a Workflow Initiative?

Posted by Anonymous on March 23, 2012 at 9:14pm

I'm sure we can all remember the former state of media in the Drupalverse, when the options were the Image, Video, and Audio modules (that all did things differently). Looking at how they were brought together, re-invented, and rebuilt as part of the media initiative, might it be time to do the same with workflows?

There are currently a lot of modules that attempt to handle workflows, including the Workflow, Workbench, StateMachine, and in some ways Rules - with each doing so in their own way. I'd love to see a solid API built for workflows that can easily be extended.

    Thoughts?

User Role Selection and Profile Fields

Posted by cithukyaw on January 10, 2012 at 6:07am

    Hi Drupalers,

I have two user roles with profile fields.

    Role 1
Name, Username, Password, Email, Address line 1, Address line 2, Website.

    Role 2
    Name, Username, Password, Email

I want to let anonymous user to chose user role on registration.
Upon user role selection, I want to show role-related fields interactively (with javascript).
I mean that when select Role 2, Address line 1, Address line 2 and Website fields will be disappeared, and when select Role 1, they will be appeared again.

I currently use 'user_role_field' module and 'autoassignrole' module.

How to add workflow comment variable in email action

Posted by junew on December 27, 2011 at 6:46pm

I am new at Drupal, just set up the workflow process for Drupal 6. I created an email action when editor saves content as Preview. I would like to insert the workflow comment filed in the notification email. I see in the Email action Massage box, we can put variables: %site_name, %username, %node_url, %node_type, %title, %teaser, %body. Can I add workflow comment variable in Massage box? What is the syntax? Thanks!

    • Resolved by using token email.
